Transmigrating Through the Interstellar: My Wife's Glory and My Honor

Chapter 50: The Furnace Explodes Again

Once she put on the pale white chemise today, her beautiful features were fully revealed. Feng Ling closed his eyes as he looked at the petite figure, having been deceived by his own eyes; this woman was truly beautiful.

Luo Bi got into bed, lifting the thin quilt to lie down neither too close nor too far from Feng Ling. Fearing she might disturb him, she didn't dare make a single sound. After about a minute, Feng Ling reached out to turn off the light. In the darkness, he pressed closer and pulled her into his arms. Luo Bi's heart raced, filled with both tension and unease.

Sensing her agitation, Feng Ling spoke in a low, husky voice, "Sleep now."

This meant he wouldn't touch her, and Luo Bi felt relieved. Once she heard Feng Ling's breathing stabilize, she drifted off into a daze.

Feng Ling was busy with official duties and headed to the military early the next morning. Luo Bi was still asleep then, and Feng Ling did not wake her.

When Luo Bi woke up after a full night's rest, Feng Ling had left food for her on the dining table.

With nothing to do after her meal, Luo Bi wandered around the apartment and decided to pass the time by refining medicine. However, given her bad track record of exploding cauldrons, she didn't dare use Feng Ling's study, and the bedroom was absolutely out of the question. She decided to make a mess in the second bedroom instead.

The second bedroom had a small living area. Luo Bi took out her medicinal tripod and spiritual plants, first processing a portion of ingredients for Hemostatic Powder. She carefully placed them in the tripod and used her mental strength to guide the fire source, which took a great deal of effort.

Two hours later, a loud "bang" echoed through the newly built residential building. Those who heard it were startled; good heavens, what was that noise? It sounded like something had exploded.

Hu Li, a Level 3 dual-attribute contractor living on the same floor, had been about to pour some water to drink when the sudden explosion nearly knocked her over, causing her hand to jerk and spill most of the water. Hu Li panicked for a moment, feeling that the sound was strangely familiar. Upon closer reflection, she realized it was the sound of an exploding cauldron! She wondered who was unlucky enough to fail at medicine refining.

At this moment, Luo Bi was stunned. Had she actually exploded a cauldron again?

The probability of this was truly unparalleled. The commotion was so large that many people must have heard it. Luo Bi could already imagine the mockery she would face once she stepped out of the door; the thought was mortifying!

After a moment of frustration, she looked in the mirror and gave a speechless laugh. Although the cauldron had exploded, she actually had to admire herself: the entire living area of the second bedroom was covered in black ash, yet she was almost entirely free of any stains.

The explosion was so loud that even Feng Ling received word of it. He immediately placed a call: "What was that noise just now?"

How could she answer? Luo Bi replied sheepishly, "I exploded a cauldron while refining medicine."

"Are you hurt?" Feng Ling asked with concern.

*Can an exploding cauldron hurt someone?* Luo Bi, who had exploded two cauldrons without getting a speck of dust on her, wondered for a moment before answering, "No."

"Be careful," Feng Ling instructed.

Qin Yilang was sitting opposite Feng Ling. Through the conversation between Feng Ling and Luo Bi, he could roughly guess what had happened. He shook his head and waited until Feng Ling hung up before speaking: "I heard you applied for three pieces of Grade 3 or higher Jadeite. When are you sending someone to the Imperial Star?"

Feng Ling frowned. "We'll see. I'll send them whenever she wants to go."

Qin Yilang was not optimistic about Feng Ling marrying Luo Bi; he had heard the woman was devious. However, as a friend, he offered a kind reminder: "Since you've already applied for the Jadeite, you should send it over quickly. Without a mentor's guidance, it's difficult to find one's way on their own."

Feng Ling nodded, indicating he had taken the advice to heart.

Luo Bi felt somewhat indignant. Other beginners at most failed at refining or perhaps scorched a cauldron; actual explosions were rare. And she, Luo Bi, was such a cautious person! How could she explode a cauldron every single time she tried to refine medicine? And so earth-shatteringly, too, as if she were afraid people wouldn't know.
