Transmigrating Through the Interstellar: My Wife's Glory and My Honor

Chapter 49: Giving Up the Assessment

Luo Bi pondered. Once she entered the Talent Contractualist Academy, she would receive guidance from formal instructors, which was naturally different from her own blind groping and accidental discoveries. However, she was very much opposed to the idea of operating under the table, using the applied-for Jadeite stones to participate in the Disciple Assessment.

Furthermore, she didn't like the position of "Disciple" any more than she liked being a Contractualist Assistant; the mere mention of it filled her with annoyance. This repulsion was intense, leaving no room for negotiation, and Luo Bi had no intention of forcing herself to endure it.

After agonizing for a long while, Luo Bi still couldn't overcome her psychological hurdle, so she said, "I don't want to rush into the assessment. Let's talk about this again in a while."

Feng Ling was surprised. "You need to think it through clearly."

This time, Luo Bi replied without hesitation, "I have thought it through."

Feng Ling stopped insisting. After a moment of hesitation, he negotiated, "The combat team's mission load is quite heavy during this period. Is it alright if we hold the wedding a bit later?"

"The wedding is just a formality; if there's no time, then forget it." Luo Bi smiled. She might leave him one day, so wouldn't holding a wedding just be a waste of money?

A wedding! Luo Bi hadn't expected one before her transmigration, and she disliked the idea even more after it. Marriages in the three major galaxies had no protection; if a woman grew tired, she could change husbands at any time, and if a man gained certain abilities, he could naturally divorce and seek new love.

Regardless of whether it was a man or a woman, out with the old, in with the new—everyone was heartless and free-spirited.

Feng Ling smiled, taking her words as mere casual remarks and not taking them seriously. After sitting for a while longer, he stood up and said, "If you're tired, go to sleep early," and entered the bedroom first.

As the living room fell silent, Luo Bi suddenly realized she was to sleep in the same bed as Feng Ling tonight. Her heart rate spiked abruptly. After a period of mental preparation, she lingered for quite a while before finally returning to the bedroom.

Feng Ling was looking at his optical computer. Seeing her enter, he got out of bed and went to the bathroom.

Not knowing what to do, Luo Bi walked straight to the window and sat on the sofa, lost in thought. After an unknown amount of time, Feng Ling finished his shower and stepped out of the bathroom. Luo Bi looked up and saw the man wearing only a towel around his waist. Her heart skipped a beat, and she feigned indifference by averting her gaze.

Feng Ling knew Luo Bi was uncomfortable, but he didn't mind. They were husband and wife; seeing each other in the nude was only a matter of time. He opened the wardrobe, where he had organized both of their clothes, reached in to take out his pajamas, and undid the towel around his waist to change right in front of her.

Luo Bi was sitting right there on the sofa. Catching it in her peripheral vision, she subtly shifted her gaze, tilting her head to stare outside as if checking the weather, though she did indeed catch a glimpse of the star-filled sky through the window.

However, Luo Bi was in no mood to appreciate the view; she just stared blankly.

Feng Ling gave a mysterious smile and turned back to ask, "Aren't you going to shower?"

Luo Bi nodded, gave an "Mhm," stood up, and entered the bathroom. She turned around and walked out almost immediately. Feng Ling was lying on the bed using his communicator; he looked up at her, thinking, *That fast?*

Luo Bi walked toward the wardrobe and explained, "I'm getting my pajamas."

Opening the wardrobe, Luo Bi took her pajamas and returned to the bathroom. She had a severe psychological obsession with cleanliness; she washed three times in a row before drying herself off and stepping out of the bathroom in clean pajamas.

Feng Ling had long since hung up the call and was feigning sleep on the bed. Hearing the movement, he opened his eyes and froze when he saw her, squinting as he observed her.

Luo Bi's looks were by no means inferior to those of Zhang Hui, Qiu Qiu, or An Jing. However, she had always dressed plainly and had never touched dresses that showcased feminine grace. When compared to the other three women who were meticulously dressed, she fell short, and gradually, her beauty had been overlooked and overshadowed.
