Chapter 15: DNA Testing

“In that case, I think I won't move back after all.” The smile faded from Ye Leng'an's face, and her tone carried a hint of pressure. "However, you have to tell me today what happened with the switch between me and Ye Xiyuan. Also, am I truly your biological daughter?"

Ye Shen's reaction was as if she had stepped on his sore spot; he nearly jumped up in indignation. "What kind of nonsense are you talking about? The fact that you and Xiyuan were switched back then wasn't our fault! It was the hospital's mistake. How can you disown us just because of that!"

Ye Shen's face was filled with righteous indignation, without a trace of hesitation. The heartache displayed on his face would make any onlooker believe they were witnessing the helplessness of a misunderstood father.

If she weren't certain that she shared no blood relation with the two people before her, Ye Leng'an might have even doubted whether her suspicions were wrong.

Unfortunately, the two people in front of her had no idea she possessed such a capability.

"Is that so?" Ye Leng'an spoke indifferently. "Since you are so certain, let's go get a DNA test. Otherwise, it wouldn't be good to misidentify a daughter again."

Upon hearing her suggestion, Ye Shen and Li Zhaohui were initially somewhat flustered. After all, there was no biological connection between them. If they went for a DNA test, they would certainly be exposed.

However, unexpectedly, Ye Shen did not hesitate at all after hearing her words and simply nodded. "If that's what you really want, then let's go get tested!"

Not just Ye Shen, but even Li Zhaohui remained very calm. They seemed certain that as long as they went for the DNA test, the result would prove she was indeed their daughter.

"Since you are both so sure, there's no need for all that trouble." Ye Leng'an narrowed her eyes, a flash of deep thought crossing her gaze. "However, I was only joking just now. I don't intend to move back here; I only came by to visit you."

Upon hearing Ye Leng'an's words, Ye Shen and Li Zhaohui looked as if they had breathed a sigh of relief.

"Leng'an, where are you living now?" Li Zhaohui asked with concern, though she didn't dare to touch Ye Leng'an casually again, fearing the embarrassment of being rejected.

"I'm living in a small apartment," Ye Leng'an said flatly. "I bought a small place a while ago, and I'm living there now."

"You have your own house!" A glint flashed in Ye Shen's eyes. "It seems the Ye family has been quite good to you, even buying you a house."

"Mhm." Ye Leng'an offered no explanation and stood up. "I only came to visit today. I have things to do, so I'll be leaving now."

"Leng'an, if you have time, come back often. Your mother and I miss you very much," Ye Shen said earnestly, looking at her. "And your younger brother—you haven't even met him. Where do you live? We'll bring your brother to visit you sometime."

Ye Leng'an narrowed her eyes but did not refuse, giving Ye Shen the address of where she currently lived.

After Ye Leng'an left, Li Zhaohui couldn't help but complain, "Why did you say you'd take Pingping to see Ye Leng'an? You know very well—"

"Zhaohui!" Ye Shen spoke sharply. "It's been so long; don't you know by now that there are things you can say and things you shouldn't?"
