Chapter 5: Dismissing Shen Yuntian

Shen Corporation Boardroom

"The Mo family's recent incident has implicated our Shen Corporation as well. President Shen must give us the board an explanation."

"Indeed, the Shen Corporation's stock price has already dropped by 2 points. If it keeps falling like this, won't we directors be left starving? We have the right to question the competence of such a CEO. I propose we re-select the position of CEO," a man in a grayish-brown suit said as he stood up.

"Director Zhao is right. We directors have invested so many shares, but there's only money going in and none coming out. How can we continue to trust this Shen Yuntian? I also agree to dismiss Shen Yuntian from his position as CEO."

Seeing Director Zhao take the lead, the other directors chimed in one after another,

"Dismiss Shen Yuntian!"

Outside the boardroom, Xiao Song paced back and forth with his fists clenched, muttering to himself,

"What should I do? What should I do? The directors... they aren't really going to dismiss the Boss, are they!"

"They dare!" Shen Yuntian's expression was cold as he strode toward Xiao Song.

Shen Yuntian opened the boardroom door. Seeing Shen Yuntian's grim expression, the directors all fell silent in fear.

However, the elderly and experienced Director Zhao was not afraid. He stood up and suddenly slammed the table. "President Shen, regarding the Mo family's recent incident, you must give us the board an explanation."

Seeing someone lead the way, several directors beside him nodded repeatedly.

"Yes, President Shen, you must give us an explanation."

"That's right!"

Seeing that everyone's opinions were so unified, Director Zhao thought it was time to bring up the dismissal of Shen Yuntian, so he continued, "If you don't explain things clearly, you will be removed from your position as CEO."

So they were using this matter to cause trouble. Shen Yuntian walked toward the boardroom door.

Everyone looked at Shen Yuntian in astonishment. Was he resigning due to his faults?

Shen Yuntian opened the boardroom door and left one sentence before departing, "Mo Hanling is not dead."

Hearing Shen Yuntian's words, Director Zhao was shocked. "What? Miss Mo isn't dead?"

"Miss Mo actually isn't dead!"

"How can that be?"

"The TV stations reported it; Miss Mo has congenital heart disease. If she misses a dose of medicine, she is bound to die."

Mo Chongyun felt it was very strange. Xiao Ling was normal, so why did Dr. Lin react like that?

So he walked over to Dr. Huang and asked, "Dr. Huang, what happened to Dr. Lin?"

The Chief had seen all sorts of storms in his career; why would a normal ECG make him act like this? No, there must be something going on!

So he asked Mo Chongyun, "Sir, did your daughter's heart have problems in the past?"

Mo Chongyun told the truth, "Yes! My daughter used to have congenital heart disease. I couldn't believe it when I just heard you say Xiao Ling's ECG is normal. Do you know how many famous hospitals I've taken her to? I've sought out every famous doctor, and they all said her life could only be maintained by medicine. But now she is normal. I am so hap—"

"What? She has congenital heart disease?" Dr. Huang interrupted Mo Chongyun.

He took off the stethoscope hanging around his neck, placed it against Hanling's chest, and listened for a while. "There is nothing wrong with her heart at all. She doesn't act like someone with heart disease at all!"
