Chapter 3: Hitting People

After sorting everything out, Mu Yu began to prepare.

After all, the plot had only just begun. Her family was about to be "recommended" by the female lead's family; her wealth had not yet been revealed, so she had a chance to cut off the female lead's stepping stone.

But before she could make a move, a scream rang out from outside.

"Xiaojie, Xiaojie, are you alright?"

It turned out that just as Mu Yu was receiving the plot and memories, a group of people had broken into the house.

Every one of them was wearing red gloves. A leader holding documents had come directly to the door to make arrests.

In order to protect his grandfather, Mu Jie had directly clashed with the people there, only to be knocked to the ground, his head wounded.

Grandpa Mu and Grandma Mu could not bear such a shock and immediately began to cry and wail.

Because of the contributions of Grandpa Mu and Mu's father, the Mu family had some fame in Haishi; the surrounding neighbors all knew how much this family doted on this daughter.

The leader of the group was actually someone from their own residential compound. He had joined the Red Gloves and had caused no small amount of trouble in the compound.

"I have never been some 'eldest young lady.' I am merely a recent graduate, the granddaughter of a soldier who dedicated countless lives, and the daughter of a researcher who contributed immensely." She naturally would not allow that title of "eldest young lady" to be pinned on her.

The moment she caught a mistake, she immediately began to argue.

Anyway, if she wasn't driven mad by them, she would be driven mad by circumstances; she might as well go mad first to show them.

She snatched the paper, pointed at the instructions on it, and shouted loudly, "Everyone, come and look! Zhang Gouzi is defying the orders of the leaders and harming civilians!"

Although no one dared to step forward to help, there were plenty of onlookers outside.

Upon hearing her shout, a few bold people craned their necks to look inside.

Zhang Gouzi was the leader of this group.

His childhood nickname was Gouzi. He used to be a loafer just waiting to die, but then, somehow, he managed to worm his way into the Red Gloves.

"Shut up!" Seeing that people were actually bold enough to look in, Zhang Gouzi immediately understood that if he didn't handle this matter well, he might face consequences. After all, the higher-ups had indeed only told him to come and keep an eye on this family.

He had brought people in only because he had been dealt with by the Mu family in the past and wanted to seek revenge.

Especially Old Man Mu, who had given him quite a few beatings and even had his own old man hit him.

How could he bear such a grudge? Usually, since he couldn't find any leverage, he had to let it go, but now that he had leverage in his hands, he naturally had to come and show off.

Mu Yu knew that arguing with them further was useless; it was better to tend to her brother's wound sooner.

It angered Zhang Gouzi so much he wanted to slap her to death.

"Hmph, don't get ahead of yourself. I'll wait to see when you fall into my hands." Zhang Gouzi spat on the ground and then waved his hand, "Comrades, let's go. Stand guard outside."

With this, the Mu family truly could neither enter nor leave.

After the people left, Mu Yu stepped forward to help her grandparents and Xiaojie up. "Grandpa, Grandma, are you alright?" She was somewhat worried; after all, the elders were not young, and if something actually happened, it would be a serious matter.

Grandpa shook his head. "I'm fine. Quickly, check on Xiaojie. This child was hit quite hard by them." It was his grandson's injury that worried the old man.

Mu Yu gently pried Xiaojie's hand away. "Let me see." She accepted this brother from the bottom of her heart; after all, who wouldn't love a brother who doted on his sister?

Mu Jie took a step back. "Sis, I'm fine. Don't look, you'll be scared in a moment." He knew his sister better than anyone; usually, if she saw a wound on Grandpa, she would worry for half a day.

Seeing blood now, there was no telling how terrified she would be.

"How can you talk like that? Is your sister really that cowardly?" Mu Yu's expression slumped, and she immediately said sternly, "Quick, let me see. If I move you later, it'll hurt even more."

Mu Jie was helpless. He had been a brother who listened to his sister since childhood; since she had put it that way, how could he refuse to let her look?

Once his hand was moved, the bloodstains on his face became even more eye-catching. "These heartless bastards." Seeing this, Grandma Mu's face was filled with heartache and indignation.

Mu Yu wanted to use her special ability and believed they wouldn't betray her, but in this special period, she didn't dare to use it.

"The wound isn't small. Come inside, I'll bandage it for you." Fortunately, it was just a cut on the forehead; the wound wasn't deep, but it was somewhat long.

The blood was only frightening.

Her reaction startled Mu Jie.

"Afraid? I'm scared to death."

What was this bit of blood compared to what she had seen more of?

Once inside the house, while Mu Yu was applying medicine, none of the people in the room spoke, and even Mu Jie didn't cry out in pain.

"Alright, don't touch water for these next few days. Wait until the scab forms before removing the gauze." The Mu family had some savings, so it was normal to have some wound medicine kept on hand.

After putting the things back in their places, Mu Yu looked at her grandparents. "Grandpa, Grandma, I'm afraid this matter won't be settled quickly. We need to think of a way." The Mu family certainly wouldn't escape so easily.

Some people wanted credit and fame; their family truly couldn't play against those people.

Coupled with the fact that someone was specifically targeting the Mu family, they naturally wouldn't let it pass easily.

Grandpa Mu naturally knew this as well.
