Chapter 12: Our Boss Wants to See You

Snake Brother’s retaliation came quickly. Chu Muyue had only just enjoyed one peaceful day; as soon as school ended, she was blocked on the road by a few thugs again.

Looking at the familiar faces before her, a smile curled at the corners of Chu Muyue’s mouth. "It seems you all felt the beating I gave you yesterday wasn't heavy enough!"

Recalling Chu Muyue’s skills from the day before, Red-Hair and the other thugs were so frightened they took a step back.

However, Red-Hair, who was leading them, still lifted his chin and said arrogantly, "Chu Muyue, our boss, Snake Brother, wants to see you!"

"Snake Brother?" Chu Muyue muttered to herself, raising an eyebrow as a mocking smile appeared on her lips. "Do you think I would agree to that?"

Red-Hair felt that Chu Muyue’s smile gave off a very intimidating vibe, but he still bit the bullet and coldly threatened, "Whether you agree or not, our Snake Brother is going to see you today. If you aren't willing, don't blame us for causing trouble for your family and friends!"

Upon hearing Red-Hair’s threat, a cold, murderous glint flashed in Chu Muyue’s eyes. Causing trouble for her family and friends!

"Fine! Then I’ll go with you!" Chu Muyue swept a cold glance over Red-Hair and the others, her heart already filled with raging fury.

This Snake Brother clearly didn't know his place, actually setting his sights on her friends.

Since this guy was so eager to court death, she didn't mind letting him know that the consequences of becoming an enemy of Chu Muyue would be miserable.

Hearing Chu Muyue’s answer, Red-Hair breathed a slight sigh of relief. He led her through an alleyway to a somewhat dilapidated van parked at the entrance.

After getting into the van, Red-Hair drove toward the outskirts of the city. The road was bumpy and full of potholes, causing the thugs inside to sway back and forth, yet Chu Muyue sat as steady as a mountain, her body not moving in the slightest.

If an expert were here, they would have seen at once that Chu Muyue’s skills were extraordinary, but unfortunately, the people here were just small-time thugs who couldn't tell.

The van chugged past a field and headed toward a ruined factory.

Chu Muyue scanned her surroundings. Although Xing City was developing rapidly and was the second-largest economic hub in Jiangnan Province, there were still many areas that had yet to be developed.

In fact, it wasn't until before Chu Muyue’s rebirth that she heard this area was finally going to be developed; for now, it was still just a desolate wasteland.

For Snake Brother to arrange a meeting in such a remote, wild place, it was clear his intentions were not pure.

Suddenly, the van stopped in front of the abandoned factory. Red-Hair and the others got out, and seeing them exit, Chu Muyue followed suit.

Red-Hair and his group surrounded Chu Muyue, leading her into the factory as if they were afraid she might run away.

However, before they even stepped inside, they heard a series of terrified screams coming from within.

Chu Muyue raised an eyebrow. Listening to those cries, something felt off.

The thugs surrounding her, however, didn't seem to care at all; smug and arrogant expressions gradually appeared on their faces.

It was as if the closer they got to the inside of the factory, the more their confidence grew, as if they had already foreseen Chu Muyue’s miserable end.

But they didn't get to be smug for long. As they rounded a corner and were about to reach their destination, a youth with hair dyed in various colors and wearing flashy, gaudy clothes came tumbling around the corner. Not paying attention, he collided head-on with Red-Hair, who was walking in front.

"Thud, thud..." Red-Hair and the thug fell to the ground simultaneously, sprawling out in a heap.
