Her Majesty is always so lacking in ambition.

At first, it went like this: while other concubines played the zither and danced, Shen Chuliu felt that she wasn't some street performer. While other concubines wrote poetry and painted, Shen Chuliu felt that she wasn't trying to win the imperial examination. When people mocked her for not being favored, she would simply smile; she had her family background, after all. The Emperor was truly at his wit's end; if the concubines didn't come to flatter him, he still couldn't just ignore them! Who told her maiden family to be so powerful? Shen Chuliu truly didn't care; those scoundrel relatives of hers could do whatever they pleased. Once she entered the palace, she began to let herself go. Letting go once was exhilarating; letting go constantly was a permanent state of bliss. As for being a person, the most important thing was to be at ease. If life was too stifling, even the old Emperor himself wouldn't be enough to make it bearable!
