Luo Bi felt a bit cold and retreated inside. The wind was too fierce, driving the rain against the glass walls with a loud, rhythmic pattering. Soon, the entire sky turned dark, creating a rather frightening sight.
This heavy rain lasted for about two hours before it gradually began to subside. Losing her patience, Luo Bi placed a call to her father: "Have you and Big Brother made it home? When are you coming to pick me up?"
"We aren't going home first. Your brother and I are heading to your place; we should be there in about ten minutes." Luo Hang was quite worried about his daughter. She had gotten married while he was away, and he could easily guess she had been forced into it.
Luo Bi found great comfort in her family's concern. Her lips remained curled in a smile until she opened the door for Luo Hang and Hua Ran—she was simply too happy to hide it.
Luo Hang was carrying two small cardboard boxes, while the box Hua Ran held behind him was larger. Luo Bi stepped aside to let them in and asked casually, "What did you bring?"
Luo Hang lifted the boxes in his hands. "The ones on top are dozens of spiritual plants collected by your brother and me. The ones below are wild nutritional fruits. Your brother is carrying meat from exotic beasts that contains nutritional energy."
Luo Bi closed the door. "Did you leave some for the family?"
"We did, but these are for you. Where should I put them?" Luo Hang was wet from the rain, so he stood in the living room without moving around.
"Put them in the refrigerator on the large balcony." Luo Bi walked quickly to lead the two of them to the large balcony.
The refrigerator had a large capacity. Luo Bi first opened the small box on top, which contained several varieties of wild fruits of different sizes, weighing about three pounds. If sold on the market, they would likely be worth several thousand interstellar credits.
As she placed the wild fruits in the fridge, Hua Ran had already opened the large box, which was packed to the brim with various meats and steaks.
Luo Bi couldn't stand the smell of raw meat. After a quick glance, she stepped back and opened the freezer door. "Father, you put them in."
Luo Hang knew his daughter's temperament all too well; she simply couldn't stand the fishy smell of raw meat. He rolled up his sleeves and began arranging the steaks in the freezer, muttering, "If Feng Ling doesn't know how to cook, what are you going to do when it's time to eat?"
Luo Bi giggled and teased, "Then have your wife cook for me!" She then turned to Hua Ran. "Brother, can you ask Mom to cook for me?"
Spoiled and disrespectful, she was ignored by Luo Hang. Hua Ran, who hadn't smiled in a long time, twitched the corner of his mouth and replied, "Alright, I'll mention it to Mom later."
Luo Bi froze. She was only joking; Guan Zhuting was her stepmother, not her biological mother, and there was really no need for her to make a special trip just to cook meat for her.
However, since Hua Ran had agreed on his mother's behalf, Luo Bi could somewhat guess the reason—it likely had something to do with Hua Ran's recent strong gene mutation. Still, it was a good thing for the family to be close, and she was happy to see it.
"Don't listen to her nonsense; she just says whatever pops into her head. You're already married, and you're still asking your mother to cook for her. There's no need to spoil her like that; the more you spoil her, the more she'll push it." This was a military base, and Luo Hang didn't want his daughter being gossiped about. "Hua Ran, take two pieces of meat and cut them into small pieces to make it easier for your sister to prepare the food."
Hua Ran took a large piece of wild boar meat, tossed it onto the kitchen cutting board, and in no time at all, sliced it into neat, small pieces and arranged them tidily into a preservation container.
After Luo Hang finished organizing all the meat and steaks, Luo Bi, who was standing nearby, closed the refrigerator door and said obsequiously, "Father, you and Brother should go wash your hands quickly."
After Luo Hang and Hua Ran washed their hands, Luo Hang didn't rush to leave. Instead, he remarked, "Your house seems quite spacious."
Luo Bi understood what he meant and immediately led her father around to take a look.
