After finishing his conversation with several of the Black men, the driver returned to the van. He opened the door and said to Chen Feng
"Young man, I'll drop you off here. I have things to do, so I'll be heading off. Go take that vehicle; they are also heading to Shan State."
The driver had a smile on his face, clearly indicating that the price had been agreed upon.
Chen Feng said nothing and simply got out of the car.
Not far from him, eight Black men stood around three trucks, smoking cigarettes and holding AKs.
The group of Black men were all staring at Chen Feng, their eyes filled with contempt.
However, just then.
The cargo hold of one of the trucks was suddenly smashed open.
A woman, her entire body bound with ropes, ran out from the truck.
Her clothes had been stripped off; she looked to be only in her early twenties.
"Help! Help!"
Zhang Jiajia screamed as she rushed out of the truck, but due to her loss of balance, she fell directly onto the ground.
There were more people tied up inside the cargo hold; nearly twenty people were crammed into the small space.
These people, both men and women, had mostly been stripped naked and bound with ropes, their faces masks of pure terror.
Some had come here hoping to make a fortune abroad, while others had been tricked by friends.
But at this moment, every single one of them had tears of regret streaming down their faces.
One of the Black men pulled Zhang Jiajia up from the ground and cursed
"You bitch! Can you afford to pay for the damage to the vehicle?"
The woman pleaded through her tears
"I was tricked into coming here. I'm just a student, please let us go."
Zhang Jiajia had been invited by a classmate to go traveling, only to be handed directly over to these Black men the moment they met.
Though she didn't know where these men were taking her, it was clearly not going to end well.
The others in the cargo hold also began to plead for mercy, speaking in a variety of different languages.
Watching this scene, Chen Feng felt a sense of melancholy.
Some people grow accustomed to a peaceful life at home and assume everywhere else is the same.
It is only when they face the darkness and find themselves imprisoned that they begin to regret.
They regret why they came in the first place, and they regret why they so easily believed the words of others.
But life does not always give you many chances to regret.
One of the Black men had already approached Chen Feng, holding a rope in his hand, clearly intending to bind him.
Meanwhile, the surrounding Black men aimed their guns at Chen Feng, their intent to threaten being unmistakable.
In the distance, the driver of the van had already started the engine. Seeing Chen Feng standing still, he sighed and said
"Young man, don't blame me. I have elders to support and children to raise; I need money to feed my family."
The driver patted the cash in his pocket, a smile appearing on his face.
There were many people like him in the Golden Triangle; whenever they encountered tourists or similar people, they would sell them under the guise of giving them a ride.
The Golden Triangle is the junction of three Southeast Asian countries, a region of political chaos.
Even if someone wanted to govern it, they couldn't.
The driver prepared to drive away.
But just then, he suddenly heard the sound of a window shattering. Before he could even turn around to check,
A flash of blue light streaked across his vision, followed by a searing, heart-wrenching pain in his limbs.
The driver instantly let out a blood-curdling scream.
This scream directly drowned out the rising cries for mercy from the cargo hold of the truck in the distance.
The driver's wailing drew everyone's attention.
Even the people trapped in the cargo hold stopped pleading and turned to look toward the van in the distance.
"What are you screaming for!" The Black man who was about to bind Chen Feng grumbled as he walked toward the van.
When he looked through the window and saw the driver's state, the cigarette in his mouth fell straight to the ground.
The driver in the seat no longer had his hands or feet.
The entire cabin was covered in blood, and the driver was no longer screaming because he was as dead as could be.
"This..." Even though the Black man had strong psychological resilience, he was startled by the sight.
"What happened?" the leader of the group asked from a distance.
The Black man inspecting the van swallowed hard and said, "His limbs were cut off. He's dead!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the expressions of the Black men changed.
The driver had boarded the van right under their noses.
Who could kill a man and sever his limbs right under their watch?
They hadn't seen anyone enter the van.
For a moment, everyone felt a sense of eeriness.
The leader shouted to the others in the distance
"Are you sure you didn't see wrong?"
The Black man standing by the van swallowed and said, "I definitely didn't see wrong. His limbs really were cut off..."
The leader immediately led his men toward the van.
What the Black men failed to notice was that Zhang Jiajia, lying on the ground, was staring blankly at Chen Feng not far away.
Because she was so close, Chen Feng was positioned only about five meters from her.
Everyone's attention had been drawn to the van, leaving only her to notice Chen Feng.
She saw a face that was nearly perfect, and hair that flowed like a silver waterfall.
Most shocking to her was that his skin actually emitted a faint glow in the darkness, as if it were breathing on its own.
Especially those eyes—deep as the stars, as if all the chaos in the world could not shake the inner peace of the man before her.
Zhang Jiajia wondered if she was seeing a celestial being stepped out of a legend or a painting.
Because he was merely standing there, he seemed to possess a magical pull that drew her in deeply.
It was a primal craving from her genes when facing a higher life form.
In this moment, she forgot her fear and forgot everything; her eyes held nothing but Chen Feng standing in the distance.
She rubbed her eyes, trying to see more clearly.
However, in the mere moment she rubbed her eyes,
Chen Feng, who had just been standing there, had vanished.
Almost simultaneously, a piercing sound of air being sliced echoed through the area.
A blue, arc-shaped wind blade swept through the scene.
Before the two closest Black men could even react, the wind blade had completely severed their limbs.
After cutting through the limbs of the two men, the wind blade did not disappear.
Instead, defying the laws of physics, it turned at a ninety-degree angle and flew toward the other Black men.
The leader seemed to sense something; just as he turned to look behind him, the wind blade circled around his body.
His limbs were also instantly severed, and without the support of his legs, he collapsed directly to the ground.
"AAAAAHHH!!!"
Screams erupted.
The remaining Black men finally noticed the wind blades, but they had no chance.
The wind blades shuttled through the area continuously, moving so fast that one could only see flashes of blue light.
In less than ten seconds, almost all eight Black men had been sliced into "human sticks" by the wind blades.
They lay prostrate on the ground, screaming incessantly.
Everyone in the cargo hold of the truck had fallen into a state of stupor.
They had only seen a blue light flashing in the area for a moment.
Then, suddenly, these men had lost their limbs; no one could immediately grasp what had happened.
...
In the nearby woods, Chen Feng watched quietly as the Black men lay on the ground screaming.
He took out his phone and called Jack, notifying him to bring men over to clean up the mess.
Chen Feng had chosen not to kill these men directly; death would be too easy for them.
He wanted to let these people slowly bleed to death in agony.
