When the Female Supporting Character Possesses a Beauty System

Chapter 38: Tingting 36

The private room fell silent all at once. Director Yang began to tease, "Son, you're a grown man. What kind of behavior is this, all teary-eyed?"

Despite his words, he took the opportunity to turn his head and press his nose. Setting everything else aside, it hadn't been easy for Han Tingting and Yang Kun over the past few years. One had been studying desperately at school without falling behind in her career, while the other had been struggling hard in society; they both had their own hardships.

Cui He fell silent. Her gaze toward the two was gentle, yet it shimmered faintly with tears. One was her biological son, and the other was the young girl she dearly loved; she felt heartache for both.

Han Tingting was more composed. She sniffled and was the first to smile, "Alright, no more crying. We shouldn't be shedding tears during such a happy moment."

Yang Kun cleared his throat. "Okay. Tingting, I am truly so lucky to have met you, and I am honored to be your boyfriend... You know, even though you have biological parents, it's not much different from not having them at all."

"But it doesn't matter. My parents are wonderful people. So, Han Tingting, are you willing to share the same parents with me? They will love you just as they love me; they will protect you and take care of you. They won't let you be like a rootless duckweed searching for a home ever again. We are your home."

"I will also take care of Grandpa just like you do—being filial and respectful to him, so he can live out his later years in peace."

The tears Han Tingting had just managed to hold back fell once more. "I am willing. You are really too much... I am rarely this moved. I've cried more today than I have in the past few years combined."

Taking advantage of the moment he bowed his head to put the ring on Han Tingting's finger, Yang Kun blinked away the tears in his eyes. "I am also very moved, and very grateful. Grateful that you gave me the chance to walk through the rest of our lives hand-in-hand. I won't let you down; I will work hard to defend our little family, just like my father did."

"I promise, I won't make you cry again. For the rest of our lives, you only need to smile."

Han Tingting smiled. "Alright, I look forward to it."

As soon as she agreed, two large red envelopes were placed in her hands. Cui He squeezed past Yang Kun. "Tingting, Mama is truly happy. In the future, if this boy Yang Kun does anything wrong, just tell me, and I'll have his father spank him!"

Director Yang nodded repeatedly. A big man standing nearby had red eyes and a red nose, clearly moved by the scene.

Han Tingting said, "Alright. If Yang Kun makes me unhappy in the future, I'll ask Mom and Dad to stand up for me."

Cui He nodded happily. "Yes! Our Tingting is such a generous girl."

Han Cunming felt both joy and a hint of sadness. He was happy that Han Tingting had found her place in life, but sad that once she married, he would be living his life all alone again.

Tan You sat quietly in a corner of the room, and only Han Tingting noticed her. She had arrived just as Yang Kun was proposing; seeing a proposal scene for the first time, Tan You indeed found it novel.

However, she was not a person who empathized easily. Even though Yang Kun, Han Tingting, and the others were crying so much, Tan You didn't feel much emotional fluctuation, sitting there with a calm expression.

Nevertheless, Tan You was truly happy for Han Tingting to find her ideal life partner. Compared to herself, Han Tingting had undoubtedly faced more hardships and deserved a happy love.

As for herself, Tan You shook her head. She was just a middle school student—still a baby.

Since Han Tingting had accepted Yang Kun's proposal ring, marriage was now on the agenda. But wedding preparations required time, which worked out well as Han Tingting could also focus on preparing her fashion show.

Other fashion designers had held many shows, but Han Tingting—the designer with the famous reputation—had never held a single exhibition. Now that she was planning one, many people were watching her closely.

Of course, Han Tingting's performance lived up to everyone's expectations. Her first show was a massive success, generating an endless stream of news. It was just that at the time, Han Tingting was already busy preparing for the wedding and other matters, and Yang Kun shielded her from all the remaining storms.

"You look beautiful today," Yang Kun said, hugging her from behind, his eyes fixed on Han Tingting in the mirror.

Han Tingting smiled and nudged his chest. "Was I not beautiful before?"

"No, you've always been beautiful." Yang Kun leaned down to kiss her shoulder. "I am especially looking forward to the moment Grandpa hands you over to me."

Han Tingting teased him, "You're not going to be moved to tears again, are you? I didn't know you had so many tears in you."

"I'm trying my best to hold them back," Yang Kun said, not feeling like he was losing face. "But if I really can't help it, you can't blame me. I'm just too happy. The moon I have been searching for so bitterly has finally fallen into my arms one day."

Han Tingting turned around in his arms. "Then don't, one day after you've obtained the moon, find it too cold and distant. I could never express my love as freely and constantly as you do."

"I won't. Because it was hard to come by, I will cherish it even more." Yang Kun pressed his forehead against hers. "I know the love you give me is already your everything, and that is enough."

Han Tingting sighed. "You always know how to move me even more."

Yang Kun looked down at her. "If I weren't afraid of ruining your makeup, I would kiss you right now."

Han Tingting looked up. "That won't do."

Yang Kun rested his head on her shoulder. "I'll endure it a bit longer, but there are still several hours to go."

Looking through his shoulder, Han Tingting made eye contact with the makeup artist. "Alright, it's time for you to go out for the rehearsal. The makeup artist is here."

In the hotel ballroom, Han Cunming was talking animatedly with Teacher Qin, while Teacher Shi sat quietly to one side. Her husband poured her a cup of tea. "I never imagined that little girl would become so successful."

Teacher Shi smiled. "I am so happy she is doing so well now. Truly, happier than ever before. She really went through so much suffering."

Teacher Shi's husband's gaze swept over two middle-aged people at the neighboring table, but he said nothing, merely sipping his tea quietly. Unlike Teacher Shi's quiet and reserved nature, he was not an extrovert either; he appeared very gentle and refined.

When the emcee announced the bride's entrance, Han Tingting walked step by step toward the center stage, arm in arm with Han Cunming. On both sides of the stage, there were various cheers and shouts of approval, and Han Tingting's eyes swept over them all.

There were villagers, former teachers, and company colleagues. Everyone clapped vigorously, their faces beaming with blessings.

Yang Kun stood at the very front of the stage, trying his best to remain composed. According to the rehearsal process, he was supposed to wait for Han Cunming to lead Han Tingting to him, but he truly couldn't wait any longer.

Just as Han Tingting and Han Cunming had reached the halfway point of the stage, Yang Kun jogged toward them.

The emcee held up the microphone and managed to smooth over the situation: "It seems our groom is very impatient! And well, it makes sense—the bride is truly too beautiful!"
