Transmigrating to a Life of Honor and Wealth: Raising the Heir of the Childless Heir
Chapter 19: Small Space of the Monster Realm
The teleportation site was located in an open expanse. Many people were participating in this training session. The teleportation point led to a low-level sub-space; while it was called a sub-space of the Monster Realm, it was actually just a marginal peripheral sub-space.
For junior cultivators who had not yet truly entered the path, such a small sub-space was the most suitable. Otherwise, the rate of attrition would be devastating.
Cultivators in the Great Yan Kingdom were not as common as cabbages, and the Emperor of Great Yan could not afford such losses. After negotiating with the immortal sects, they settled on this low-level Monster Realm sub-space. People going for training arrived one after another.
Rong Juan did not come to see Qin Bi off, to prevent those going on the training from thinking she possessed some powerful magical treasure. In a sub-space like this, those with high cultivation levels would find it difficult to tear through the void to cross over.
Qin Bi wore the clothes she had acquired when she followed the Third Branch; having been washed many times, the colors were clean.
As soon as Qin Tang and Qin Bi stepped off the carriage and saw the crowds around the teleportation point, Qin Bi felt a sense of dread and panic. It wasn't that she was a coward, but rather that her mind was easily unsettled; the moment she stepped out, she lost her composure.
Someone glanced at her before averting their eyes.
Seeing Qin Bi and Qin Tang, Qin Lang waved to greet them: "Over here, over here!"
The shout drew the attention of the surrounding crowd. Qin Bi grabbed Qin Tang's sleeve and walked over to join the group. As various gazes were withdrawn, Qin Tang glanced at Qin Bi and frowned.
Once the group was assembled, everyone entered the teleportation formation.
This formation was quite large, capable of accommodating over a hundred people. Qin Bi gripped Qin Tang's sleeve tightly, terrified of losing her. With a teleportation formation, what if they were separated upon arrival?!
A young girl nearby looked at Qin Bi out of the corner of her eye, wearing an expression of disdain.
Qin Bi ignored her; it wasn't like the girl was eating her rice.
She wasn't sure if the teleportation formation was malfunctioning or what, but after it activated, there was a sudden wobble. Good heavens, Qin Bi felt incredibly nauseous, feeling as if she couldn't even catch her breath.
"Is it mandatory to use the teleportation formation?" Qin Bi asked Qin Xun after steadying herself.
Seeing her discomfort, Qin Xun felt helpless and pointed outside the formation: "You can summon a White-grade Cloud."
Qin Bi looked over. In front of several well-dressed individuals, a few white clouds were floating in mid-air. They weren't high up, but Qin Bi's eyes widened. Riding on clouds and mist? Good grief, she abandoned the idea and decided to stick with the teleportation formation!
She was afraid of heights; even being two meters off the ground made her dizzy.
Feeling a headache and nausea, Qin Bi muttered, "Why hasn't it teleported yet?"
They had just wobbled.
Just as she said this, Qin Bi felt a wave of dizziness. Terrified, she quickly grabbed Qin Xun again. In an instant, a desolate landscape appeared before her eyes, looking like an ancient wasteland at a single glance.
*Where is this?* Qin Bi's mind raced to react.
The crowd dispersed to observe the surrounding environment.
The young girl said disdainfully, "Truly useless."
Before Qin Bi could speak, Qin Xun pulled her back and shook his head, signaling her not to cause trouble. This was a sub-space of the Monster Realm, a killing ground full of opportunities; those with good spiritual roots and high talent could easily slaughter them.
Qin Bi remained silent, knowing full well they lacked strength.
Qin Lang was talking to two men. One was a fat man in a fine brocade robe with a very amiable face, while the other was a tall man in a plain green robe without any embroidery.
"We will follow the others," the man in the green robe said.
Qin Lang nodded. Once the crowd ahead moved, they followed suit.
The young girl and a few others followed as well. Qin Bi gripped Qin Tang's sleeve, walking while glancing at the desolate land from a distance. There was very little vegetation in sight, and the soil was severely lacking in water.
Not a single small animal could be seen. Knowing nothing of this world, Qin Bi simply followed the trek.
About half an hour later, the group suddenly became noisy. Qin Bi stood on her tiptoes to look and saw a monster running toward them. The monster was quite large and roared fiercely.
Qin Bi looked around—who was going to step up? She certainly wasn't.
Looking ahead, as the monster charged, about a dozen people suddenly stood their ground. Qin Bi thought they might have some magical treasures, but instead, each person held a large tea bowl.
They were called tea bowls, but they looked more like tea mugs.
Qin Bi was bewildered. What were they doing? Having a sip of tea before killing the monster?!
She kept watching, and her usual lack of composure temporarily retreated, allowing her mind to clear. Qin Tang and Qin Xun pulled her away to retreat; with their talent, they wouldn't be able to defeat even a minor monster.
Driven by curiosity, Qin Bi pointed at the dozen or so people and asked, "What are they doing with tea bowls?"
Qin Xun gave her a strange look. "Those are summoning artifacts."
Qin Bi was broadening her horizons. While following the small group at a distance, she stared intently. She was puzzled that the summoning artifacts were tea bowls, and even if they were, why were they all using the exact same kind?
Before the monster could reach them, those holding the summoning artifacts held out their bowls. To Qin Bi's utter astonishment, they pointed at the bowls, and various summoned beasts and plants were called forth.
There were birds, rabbits, wolves, vines, trees...
As soon as the summoned beasts and plants appeared, they lunged at the monster together, instantly kicking up a cloud of dust. The monster's level seemed quite high, so someone nearby used their summoning artifact to continue summoning more.
Qin Bi moved her hands; she didn't have a tea bowl, but Rong Yang had a small one.
By her estimation, Rong Yang's small tea bowl was a "mini" version compared to their summoning artifacts.
"Idiot," the young girl continued to sneer. "Coming here to train without even knowing what a summoning artifact is."
Qin Tang didn't want to cause trouble, so he called everyone to move on. The two men who had been talking to Qin Lang followed. Qin Bi glanced back and realized they were all part of one group, while the young girl's group followed not far behind.
This sub-space of the Monster Realm was vast, appearing desolate as far as the eye could see.
Vegetation was extremely scarce. Gradually, the sandy terrain gave way to hardened, compacted earth. Qin Bi was stunned; she had assumed the soil in the Monster Realm sub-space would be good, but she hadn't expected it to be so compacted.
Fortunately, it wasn't completely parched, as some plants could be seen as they walked.
Qin Lang and the fat man dug up everything they found. They would pull up grass to taste whether it was edible or had any value. When Qin Bi tried to stop them, the young girl mocked her again, making Qin Bi so frustrated that her eyes turned red.
Qin Bi was so angry—why was she crying? She was so mad she could die.
Qin Lang dug up a sweet-tasting blade of grass and handed it to Qin Bi: "Sister, try this, it's very sweet."
*It's just a piece of grass, what's so good about it?* Qin Bi felt even more heartbroken. Unable to stop them, she covered her eyes and cried. When the members of the Qin family saw this, some frowned—why had such a fragile soul joined them?
A handsome man from the young girl's group said, "Let's split up and find our own ways."
Qin Tang said helplessly, "Alright."
Qin Tang didn't even dare to say they would call out if something happened, because their talent was so low. Even that young girl's talent was higher than theirs. Fearing they would be a burden, they decided to move ahead.
For the rest of the time, Qin Bi cried at the slightest provocation; she was even angry at herself. How could this be? The angrier she got, the more she wanted to cry. The group members had no choice but to keep digging whenever they saw plants.
Following Qin Tang, Qin Bi watched him dig up a tree root and said through her tears, "Why aren't you going to kill some small monsters?"
