Transmigrating Through the Interstellar: My Wife's Glory and My Honor
Chapter 19: Bargaining
Since things had already come to this, no matter how thick-skinned Luo Feifan was, he couldn't simply reach out and demand something for free. The item belonged to Ms. Sun, but her granddaughter's fiancé was a member of the royal Feng family; as the head of the family, he had to maintain some dignity.
After a long silence, he finally said, "Give her two million."
Feng Ling gave Luo Feifan a meaningful look and smiled. "As far as I know, someone's bid just reached 2.6 million at the gambling street." He didn't explicitly say that the amount was too low, but the implication was clear; anyone with half a brain would understand.
He actually thought it was too little? Luo Feifan felt both embarrassed and indignant. Taking two deep breaths, he said through gritted teeth, "If it's 2.6 million, then 2.6 million it is."
While his branch of the family maintained a respectable appearance on Planet Zhihuang, they didn't actually have much wealth. Moreover, to help Luo Yan pass her apprentice assessment recently, their resources had been significantly depleted. Pulling 2.6 million out of his savings was truly painful for him.
"No, Grandfather, 2.6 million is too much!" Luo Yan could no longer restrain herself. She glared at Luo Bi and said, "Asking for so much Interstellar Credits from your own family—how do you have the nerve?"
"I don't have the nerve, because I don't want to sell it at all," Luo Bi retorted bluntly. Her voice wasn't loud, and her expression was calm and unhurried, which made her incredibly irritating.
"Grandfather, look at her!" Luo Yan twisted her body in a spoiled manner. "She's just doing this because she dislikes me."
She had used her methods to snatch Hua Chen away, and because she knew this in her heart, she believed from the very beginning that Luo Bi was targeting her.
Luo Feifan gave Luo Bi a complicated look and scolded, "Don't talk nonsense. Luo Bi is just speaking out of anger."
Feng Ling called Luo Bi aside to ask her intentions. Luo Bi repeated the same thing: "I'm not selling." And she wouldn't sell to Luo Yan either.
Feng Ling frowned. "Personally, I suggest you ask for more Interstellar Credits and sell it. Your grandfather has already stepped in; it's not good to let things get too tense."
Feng Ling was confident he could squeeze another 300,000 to 500,000 Interstellar Credits out of Luo Feifan. Luo Yan urgently needed Grade 3 or higher Jadeite, and it just so happened that Luo Bi had gambled one out. Being members of the same Luo family, if Luo Bi refused to sell even after being offered Interstellar Credits, the members of the Luo family would likely harbor resentment toward Luo Bi's immediate family from then on.
"My things, my decision. If I say I'm not selling, then I'm not selling, regardless of how many Interstellar Credits are offered." Luo Bi already had a plan in mind. If she truly couldn't protect the Crimson Jade, she would rather give it to Feng Ling. She wasn't sure what kind of character Feng Ling had, but judging by the effortless way he had navigated the conversation with the old man just now, it wasn't hard to see that he was a worldly, cunning, and difficult person to deal with. Once the Crimson Jade fell into such hands, it was uncertain whether the old man would have the ability to get it back.
As long as she could make Luo Yan suffer a setback, Luo Bi would be satisfied.
*Truly willful,* Feng Ling thought, having witnessed her temperament. He gave her a glance before returning to negotiate with Luo Feifan.
"Luo Bi, come here." Luo Feifan was fuming. He called Luo Bi over, adjusted his stiff expression, and tried his best to appear kind and approachable. "Xiao Yan is just being immature. As her elder sister, why are you making such a fuss with her? For a family to prosper, harmony is key; siblings shouldn't clash over trivial matters."
He was implying the matter regarding Hua Chen.
At first glance, Luo Feifan's words seemed to suggest that Luo Yan was being immature, but upon closer inspection, his tone carried the accusation that Luo Bi was being narrow-minded.
Luo Bi lifted her eyelids and watched Luo Feifan intently, prompting him to continue, wanting to see just how biased his heart could truly be.
