Transmigrating Through the Interstellar: My Wife's Glory and My Honor
Chapter 25: Yielding to Fate
For years, her concealed awakened ability had been the trump card Luo Bi took pride in. Whether she chose to reveal it or not was one thing, but possessing the ability meant that, ultimately, it would be her reliance one day. However, once the test results were released, they dealt Luo Bi a significant blow.
She froze completely, her expression wooden, unable even to force a smile.
"It's alright, this is already quite good," Feng Ling said, being more easygoing. Although Luo Bi's awakening was somewhat useless, it was still better than not awakening at all; at least she was no longer an ordinary person.
The staff member truly felt it was a pity, so he added, "You are a congenital awakener. If your family's circumstances are good and you can support you with a large amount of resources, there is still hope for the future." As for how far she could go, one could only do their best and leave the rest to fate.
Next came a series of physical fitness and other tests. Luo Bi's physical fitness was as expected, with a low rank—F-grade. There was nothing worse than that. Fortunately, most people who had awakened Soul Source Power and Mental Power had generally poor physical fitness, with F-grade being the most common, so Luo Bi's results did not stand out.
It was her attributes—being a "trash-type" where everything was awakened—that were far too unique.
On the way home, Feng Ling said, "Give me your account, and I'll transfer the interstellar credits for the Crimson Jade Stone to you."
Feng Ling had no intention of taking the Crimson Jade Stone for free. Luo Bi was his fiancée; he could scheme against anyone, but he could not scheme against her.
Luo Bi's mind was a mess at the moment, but hearing this, she cleared her head for a moment. She originally wanted to say forget it and that the stone was a gift, but thinking of her family's situation, she immediately swallowed those brainless words and provided her account number.
Soon, the notification for the incoming transfer sounded. Luo Bi glanced at it; Feng Ling had transferred three million to her, which was forty thousand more than the bidding price. Unaccustomed to taking advantage of others, she raised her hand to transfer the extra forty thousand back, saying, "It's too much, I'll transfer the forty thousand back to you."
"No need." Feng Ling's long, slender hand pressed down, stopping her movement. "Just accept whatever I give you."
His well-defined hand, carrying warmth, quickly withdrew. Luo Bi's heart raced for a few seconds—not because she was smitten, but as an instinctive reaction to the rare physical contact.
Luo Bi let out a soft sigh and did not attempt to transfer the money again.
Silence fell within the hovering car. After a while, Feng Ling asked, "Is the amount of interstellar credits Hua Ran needs to buy the spiritual medicine enough?"
Luo Bi did the math in her head and said, "My family previously gathered nearly two million. Adding the one million you gave this morning and the three million you just transferred to me, it should be just about enough."
"I heard from my brother that the price of a Grade 3 spiritual medicine is five million?" Luo Bi wasn't entirely sure; she couldn't afford for the price to be different when the time came, as her family couldn't scrape together any more interstellar credits.
Feng Ling nodded slightly. "Five million is enough."
Feng Ling held a military position in the army, so his sources were reliable. Luo Bi's heart finally settled; she could not handle any more unexpected situations today.
Feng Ling dropped Luo Bi off at home and left. Luo Hang and his wife had not yet returned, and she didn't know how the old man would treat them. Luo Bi leaned lazily against the sofa and let out a long sigh. Her only trump card had been revealed, only to yield such an unexpected result; there was no longer any hope for the future.
Luo Bi was the type of person who thrived on victory but withered in defeat. If everything went her way, she would always be a winner, but if she encountered setbacks, she would lose her spirit.
Staring blankly at one spot for a moment, Luo Bi's rationality gradually returned. There were still many things to attend to, and she could not afford to wallow in melancholy. She placed a call to her father and asked, "When are you coming back?"
