Chapter 28: Who is the Top and Who is the Bottom

“Either you sleep on the bed, and I’ll go sleep outside?” Qing Mei remained uncompromising.

“Th-that… alright then.” Nan Qingcheng said with a sense of loss, then turned around, grabbed a quilt, and prepared to lay it on the floor to sleep.

Watching Nan Qingcheng’s lonely figure, Qing Mei suddenly couldn’t bear it. “Um… if you want to come to the bed, then come.”

Nan Qingcheng, with his back to Qing Mei, had a flash of light in his eyes, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. “Fine, since little Mei-er has said so, I’ll reluctantly come over.”

Qing Mei’s mouth twitched; the way he said that made it sound like she was begging him to sleep on the bed. “But there’s a condition: do! not! touch! me!” Qing Mei demanded.

“Fine, fine, I promise not to touch you,” Nan Qingcheng said.

After washing up, the two lay down on the bed. Nan Qingcheng slept on the outside, and Qing Mei slept on the inside, facing away from him.

They remained silent like this until Nan Qingcheng heard Qing Mei’s steady breathing.

Nan Qingcheng smiled mischievously and used a wind-element skill to blow a slight breeze toward the bed—just enough to make one feel cold, but not enough to make them sick.

Sure enough, after feeling the cold, Qing Mei shifted slightly toward Nan Qingcheng. A while later, still feeling cold, she simply hugged Nan Qingcheng, using him as a body pillow. Why wouldn't she use a natural heater?

Only then did Nan Qingcheng stop the wind, and he fell asleep contentedly, holding Qing Mei in his arms.

Early the next morning, Qing Mei felt groggy, sensing that she was hugging something. She dozed for a bit longer before opening her eyes to see Nan Qingcheng looking at her with a beaming smile.

Qing Mei’s expression darkened immediately. “Nan Qingcheng, didn’t you say last night you wouldn’t touch me? What are you doing now?”

“Mei-er, I’m truly aggrieved. I don’t know if you felt cold last night, but you kept moving toward me. Look, I’m already at the very edge. And look at who is holding whom right now?” Nan Qingcheng said with a wronged expression.

Qing Mei skeptically lifted the quilt to look. Indeed, Nan Qingcheng was lying straight, while she was clinging to him like an octopus.

Qing Mei immediately let go of her arms and legs. “Um… let’s not talk about this, let’s get up.”

Qing Mei figured that since she was the one who had latched onto him first, it would be awkward to accuse him of breaking his promise.

“Bang.” The doors on the left and right opened at the same time. Qing Mei and Nan Qingcheng walked out of one, while Bei Tang Xiaoyang and Tian Chenyun walked out of the other.

Qing Mei stood at the doorway, staring blankly at Bei Tang Xiaoyang and Tian Chenyun, who were holding hands.

“Bei Tang, why are you here? This kid Tian Chenyun called you, right?” Nan Qingcheng asked Bei Tang Xiaoyang.

“Yeah, little Yun asked me to come over and hang out,” Bei Tang Xiaoyang said.

Seeing Qing Mei staring at his and Bei Tang’s joined hands, Tian Chenyun immediately explained, “Sister-in-law, let me introduce you. This is my second brother, Bei Tang Xiaoyang, and also… my… my partner.” Tian Chenyun said the last part bashfully.

Qing Mei glanced at Nan Qingcheng, who nodded. “The two of them are a couple.”

“You two… who pursued whom?” Qing Mei was more concerned about who was the top and who was the bottom.

The other three didn’t expect that to be the first thing Qing Mei would ask.

“Um… it was me,” Tian Chenyun weakly raised his hand.

Qing Mei nodded. So it was little Yun, but… looking at him, he was clearly a big, weak bottom.

“Let’s go, let’s eat something before we hit the road.” Nan Qingcheng suddenly pulled Qing Mei downstairs. The other two followed, and the four of them ate something before setting off.

In the carriage, Qing Mei poked her little head out to look at the surroundings. Logically speaking, Gushi City was located in a border area, so there shouldn't be many people in the city. But looking at the bustling crowds outside today, it seemed that they were all people from the outer cities.
