Chapter 1: Share Your Thoughts

()In truth, this is the first time Laohu has written a historical novel. Perhaps many of the aunties who are experts in history can tell that Laohu is not very familiar with history. Of course, Laohu didn't just start writing without doing any homework; I also bought some books to cram, wanting to write this book with a sense of historical authenticity, but in the end, I couldn't escape many historical blind spots. In those blank areas, Laohu either bypassed them or used imagination to fill them in.

The novel has almost reached nearly 300,000 words by now. The reason I started writing in the first place was simply because I received a phone call from my editor, Tingfeng Xiaolou. Xiaolou-dada is a girl, and her voice is very pleasant. We made a pact: if my new book's average subscription exceeds a thousand, she would show me a clear photo of her face. Of course, an average subscription of over a thousand is a task that is somewhat impossible for me to complete. However, I also thought, if I work hard, it will be fine.

Originally, I never thought this novel would receive support from so many people, but ever since the book opened, Dante has been following and commenting every single day. Following that, book friends like Kanchongchong, Yuwen Xuanfeng, and Danji Yingyong have also appeared to show their support. This has moved me deeply. I think there is one more reason why I continue to persevere with this book: it is for the book friends who support it.

Speaking of writing style. In truth, my writing can only be considered on the very mediocre side; sometimes, I might struggle for an hour and not necessarily squeeze out five hundred words. I originally intended to be a "3k party" member, updating three thousand words a day, but because I am so moved by the support of so many friends, I resolutely chose to become a "5k party" member. I also want to have bursts of inspiration, but I truly have no time. Although I am not much, in my little patch of work, I am a responsible person. There isn't much company business, but it is very miscellaneous, so there are always this or that matters; being able to maintain 5k is already my limit.

I don't even know what genre this book is. Some say it's a Harem genre? Some say it's a Political Intrigue genre? Some say it's a Stallion genre? Some say it's a Hegemony genre? Actually, I really can't say for sure myself. If I truly had to name the genre, then this is the "Laohu Genre." The Laohu Genre is a book written by Laohu with an attitude of never being perfunctory and being absolutely serious—a book that Laohu himself likes, and one that he hopes the readers will like as well.

As long as there is even one person supporting this book, Laohu will continue to write. Once this one is finished, I will write the next.
