Chapter 51: Starlight and City Lights Intertwine (Please keep reading)
On the bustling streets of Mong Kok, Lin Haoran took Guan Jiahui for a stroll for about ten minutes before finally fulfilling his promise by purchasing the pair of Roger Vivier shoes she had been dreaming of.
Neither of them were famous figures; they walked hand in hand like any ordinary young couple, drawing no attention from those around them.
The two brothers, Li Weiguo and Li Weidong, followed closely behind Lin Haoran, performing their duties diligently to prevent any unforeseen incidents.
Afterward, their footsteps left marks on Flower Market Street, Ladies' Market, and Argyle Street.
Before they knew it, the time had drifted to eight o'clock in the evening.
"Any other plans, beautiful lady?" Lin Haoran asked with a smile as they reached the end of Argyle Street and returned to the vicinity of the parked car.
"Brother Haoran, I want to see the night view of Victoria Harbour!" Guan Jiahui looked at Lin Haoran with eyes full of anticipation.
Unconsciously, the way she addressed him had changed.
At this moment, Guan Jiahui felt incredibly happy.
She felt that of all the seventeen years of her life, tonight was her happiest day.
Without realizing it, she discovered that she had developed an indescribable affection for Lin Haoran.
The night view of Victoria Harbour?
Lin Haoran smiled slightly and said, "Sure, then I'll take you to an excellent spot to see it."
The group got into the car, and Lin Haoran instructed Li Weiguo to drive them back to the Hengfeng Building.
Sitting inside the slowly moving vehicle, Guan Jiahui's small hand instinctively grasped Lin Haoran's left hand once more. The two leaned close to each other, almost able to feel one another's warmth.
Lin Haoran caught a faint scent—it was her fresh and charming fragrance, quietly permeating the small space.
Guan Jiahui's heart raced like a drumbeat. She was actually surprised herself as to why she felt such a strong sense of closeness toward this man she had only met twice, even to the point of taking such initiative.
This sudden surge of emotion left her feeling both shy and filled with a sweet sense of unease.
As the car shuttled through the depths of the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, Lin Haoran used the soft light inside the car to gently trace delicate circles in the palm of Guan Jiahui's hand.
That gentle touch was like a breeze brushing over a lake, instantly stirring layers of fine ripples in the lake of Guan Jiahui's heart. She felt an indescribable tremor, nearly unable to stop herself from letting out a cry.
However, her reason pulled her back in time.
She realized that two bodyguards were sitting in the front seat; in such a setting, any slip of composure could break this delicate balance and lead to embarrassment.
Thus, she bit her lip, forcing herself to swallow the overflowing joy and surprise, though two rosy clouds quietly bloomed upon her cheeks.
Lin Haoran naturally noticed Guan Jiahui's subtle change. He smiled inwardly, understanding that she was now like an undefended lamb before him—both innocent and alluring.
He naturally would not let such a rare opportunity slip away easily.
The car arrived smoothly at the Hengfeng Building and parked in the garage.
"Weiguo, Weidong, once you drop us off at the company entrance, you don't need to come in. Stay at the Taihua Hotel next door tonight; I'll come find you tomorrow," Lin Haoran said softly to the two of them after Guan Jiahui had stepped out and closed the car door.
The Hengfeng Building had numerous security guards, with patrols on almost every floor, making it a very safe place.
"Yes, Boss," the two replied. They were no fools and understood that tonight was not the time to disturb their boss.
Only then did Lin Haoran open the door and step out of the car.
"Brother Haoran, where are we going?" Guan Jiahui looked at the expansive underground garage before her, a flicker of curiosity and confusion in her eyes.
Before entering the garage, she had caught glimpses through the car window that she was inside a towering skyscraper.
"Didn't you want to see the brilliant night view of Victoria Harbour? I'll take you to the top of the building to appreciate its splendor from a height," Lin Haoran answered with a smile.
Hearing this, Guan Jiahui's eyes instantly lit up. She was eager and impatient to catch a glimpse of the legendary night view of Victoria Harbour.
The elevator stopped on the 19th floor. The brothers, Li Weidong and Li Weiguo, watched as their boss opened the office door and closed it behind him before they departed with peace of mind.
Upon entering the office, Guan Jiahui took a look at the decor and realized this was a company.
However, her gaze was quickly drawn to the massive floor-to-ceiling glass window at the far end, and she found herself quickening her pace.
That glass window was like a giant gemstone embedded in the wall, presenting the prosperity and magnificence of the outside world without reservation.
Through it, the breathtaking night view of both sides of Victoria Harbour was laid bare—the flickering lights and shimmering waves unfolded like a soul-stirring painting.
"Wow, it's so beautiful. I never imagined that looking down at Hong Kong from such a height could provide such a shocking visual feast," Guan Jiahui was stunned by the view.
Lin Haoran walked slowly to her side, a gentle smile curling at the corners of his mouth. He was equally captivated by the magnificent scenery, looking down at the refreshing beauty.
"Brother Haoran, thank you so much," Guan Jiahui said suddenly, turning to face him after a moment of silence.
"Silly girl, do we even need to say such things between us?" Lin Haoran responded with a light laugh.
At this moment, the exquisite night view around them seemed to become mere background, enveloping the two in a romantic and subtle atmosphere.
The starlight and city lights reflected off one another, adding a dreamlike quality to the scene.
Their eyes met inadvertently, as if the entire world had come to a standstill.
Immediately following, an irresistible force drove them closer until their lips softly touched, initiating a deep and lingering kiss.
The kiss was long and profound, as if it had transcended the boundaries of time.
It was only when Guan Jiahui felt a slight sense of breathlessness that she reluctantly pulled her lips away, though her eyes still held the remnants of unspent emotion.
"So embarrassing..." With flushed cheeks, Guan Jiahui buried her head deeply into Lin Haoran's chest, as if trying to hide from her own inner palpitations and his gaze.
She felt a secret sense of regret; the impulse and boldness of that moment made her feel even more mortified now, wondering how Brother Haoran would view her.
However, Lin Haoran was not about to let this rare opportunity go.
A mischievous smile played on his lips as he gently wrapped his arms around Guan Jiahui's waist. Amidst her startled gasp, he swept her up in a swift motion and walked steadily toward the General Manager's office.
Passing through his personal office, he went straight into the more private inner chamber and gently laid Guan Jiahui down on the soft large bed.
Guan Jiahui seemed to realize what was happening; she did not resist. Though her heart was in turmoil, there was also a trace of inexplicable anticipation.
She closed her eyes tightly, her long eyelashes trembling slightly, like a flower waiting to be picked, awaiting every bit of tenderness and care Lin Haoran would provide.
