Chapter 10: Saving People

The driver seemed equally terrified, unable to process the situation. "He didn't bring his medicine... he forgot his medicine."

Ye Leng'an frowned. She stepped forward, knelt down, and began to examine him. The old man's face was almost translucently pale; his breathing was labored, and even his heartbeat was intermittent. If this continued, he would likely pass away before the ambulance could arrive.

After reaching out to check his pulse, she sighed and muttered to herself, "You're lucky you ran into me today. Fine! I'll just consider this a good deed for the day."

Ye Leng'an reached into her pocket, but in reality, she was retrieving a medicinal pill from her spatial dimension, intending to pop it into the old man's mouth.

"What are you doing?" The driver, who had been keeping a constant eye on the old man, naturally noticed Ye Leng'an's movements.

He didn't know what this young girl was planning, but if something happened to the old master, he would not be able to escape responsibility.

"I am trying to save him." Facing the suspicion, Ye Leng'an did not get angry. "He won't make it until the ambulance arrives. If you don't let me save him, he will certainly die today."

She wasn't typically one to meddle in others' business, but a moment ago, she had caught a glimpse of a faint aura of auspiciousness surrounding the old man—an aura that only appeared on those with great merit. It was clear this man had done many good deeds. Since she had seen it, she was naturally willing to save him.

"What nonsense are you talking!" the driver snapped angrily. "How can you curse our old master like that! Besides, you don't even know what that thing is; how can you just feed it to him! If anything goes wrong, you won't be able to take responsibility."

"Oh, little girl, stop making a scene. The ambulance will be here any moment."

"Yeah! You're just a kid, don't come here looking for trouble."

The surrounding crowd also began to chime in; clearly, no one believed Ye Leng'an could save the old man.

Faced with the skepticism of those around her, Ye Leng'an's expression remained unchanged.

Before anyone could react, she pried the old man's mouth open and shoved the pill inside.

"Old Master!" the driver screamed in terror. He reached out, attempting to shove Ye Leng'an away.

He hadn't expected this seemingly kind-looking girl to do something like this. He didn't even know what she had fed the old master; if anything happened to him today, the Master and the Young Master would certainly not let him off easily.

Ye Leng'an reacted swiftly. She wasn't pushed; instead, she dodged with a quick movement.

"You little girl, how could you do such a thing! This is practically murder!"

"Young girls these days are really something. Even if you want to show off, you shouldn't do it like this! Aren't you playing with a human life!"

"Don't let her escape, everyone! If anything happens to this elderly man, she's a murderer."

The crowd buzzed with discussion, but they shared a consensus: they absolutely could not let Ye Leng'an leave.

Ye Leng'an had no intention of leaving, and she turned a deaf ear to the accusations of the crowd. She simply continued to observe the old man's condition.

"What is going on here?"

At that moment, an aged voice suddenly rang out, causing all the chatter to come to an abrupt halt.
