The Blessed Wife with a Spatial Dimension Travels Back to the 1980s

Chapter 1: Starting with a Divorce

"Divorce is fine, but you must leave with nothing. You are not allowed to take a single thing." After a loud roar came the sound of heavy sobbing.

"On what grounds? I haven't done anything to wrong you; you're the one who brought up the divorce." A man's voice growled, laced with anger.

"Are you even a man?" The woman's voice was filled with disbelief.

The man seemed incensed. "Do you not know whether I'm a man or not? If I weren't a man, where did our son and daughter come from?"

"As if you didn't steal them," the man said, his tone dripping with disdain.

He seemed to look down on the woman immensely.

"I didn't steal anyone! I didn't, I didn't!" The woman seemed triggered, becoming somewhat hysterical.

She reached out with her claws toward the man.

"Enough!" The man seemed unable to take it anymore and let out a roar. "Divorce is fine, and I can give you the house and the money, but not the children."

If they followed her, there was no telling what kind of life they would lead.

No matter how inadequate he might be, he loved his children more than she did.

He might not spoil them, but at the very least, he was a qualified father.

But her?

"No way." If the children were given to him, what would happen to her?

Wen Nanshuang was a bit dazed. What was going on?

Wasn't she on her way home?

How did she end up here?

She was completely bewildered.

But before she could think, a woman grabbed her hand.

"Nanshuang, tell me, who are you going with?" The triumph in the woman's eyes was well-hidden. She knew how much her daughter loved her as a mother.

Let the daughter choose first so the son would have a comparison.

If even the daughter, who was doted on by her father, chose her, then the son wouldn't be able to escape either.

Besides, she loved him more.

Before Nanshuang could think, the words tumbled out of her mouth: "I'm going with Dad."

The daughter seemed not to have reacted yet. "Did you hear that? She said..."

"What?" A sharp shriek exploded in Nanshuang's ears.

Nanshuang didn't know what was happening, but her heart felt painfully blocked. She couldn't understand it—in a situation like this, wouldn't most people choose their mother?

Why did 'she' say she was going with Dad?

"What are you yelling for? Look, Nanshuang is scared." The man snatched the child from the woman's hands.

"Nanshuang, don't be afraid. Dad is here." The heartache in the man's eyes couldn't be faked.

He truly loved his children.

As for that woman just now, she probably only loved herself.

"You unfilial thing, I'll beat you to death!" Without giving the father and daughter a chance to react, the woman lunged at them.

Nanshuang was slapped directly to the ground.

Her ears rang with a boom, and she lost all sound.

She saw them opening their mouths and flailing about, but she couldn't hear a thing.

As things escalated, the whole family ended up in a brawl.

In the chaos, Nanshuang was kicked by someone and passed out.

She didn't know what happened afterward. When she woke up again, she was already in the hospital.

"Shuangshuang, Dad is here. Don't be afraid." The man looked disheveled; he hadn't even had time to clean himself up after the fight.

His face was covered in small cuts, treated with mercurochrome by the doctor, making him look quite frightening.

During the time she was unconscious, Nanshuang had received the original owner's memories and knew why she had said she would go with Dad.

In her past life, she had chosen to go with her mother. Because of her mother's 'suffering,' she had eventually become an enemy to her father.

But no one expected that, over a decade later, her 'good mother' would have her son reconcile with the father, ultimately taking over everything the father owned.

As for her, her father refused to see her even on his deathbed, simply because she had hurt him too deeply.

The original owner had been devastated.

She had asked her mother, but her mother said that if she didn't let her younger brother reconcile with their father, then their father's assets would go to someone else. To avoid letting others benefit, she had to let her brother curry favor with their father.

Nanshuang had believed her.

It wasn't until later, after she divorced and returned to her maiden home, that she accidentally overheard a conversation between her brother and sister-in-law, and she realized that she had been nothing but a tool.

A tool to deal with her father.

Since she was a child, her father had loved her. Even when her brother was born, her father hadn't lost his original affection for her.

But how had she treated her father later?

Just thinking about it made Wen Nanshuang's heart ache with regret.

When she first divorced, her father was penniless and, having been in business, owed a lot of money.

When the creditors came to collect, she had been brainwashed by her mother into believing that her father had done it on purpose.

Borrowing money outside and then letting the family pay it back.

She believed it.

That was also the first time she had spoken words that hurt her father.

"He's dead. If you want money, go to hell and ask him for it."

But what Wen Nanshuang didn't know was that her father had heard those words.

Her father had shed tears of heartbreak.

And her mother had been happy that her daughter had driven the people away.

That way, their family could have a quiet and peaceful New Year.

After the first time, there was a second and a third.

Her mother kept pushing her daughter to the front because she knew her father loved his daughter the most.

As for her brother, he only picked up the benefits at the end, because everything obtained was his.

Whether it was the house or the money.

After the original owner died and was reborn, she didn't have the courage to face her father, so she chose to leave.

She wasn't a good daughter.

Just then, Wen Nanshuang from another world arrived, and she surrendered her body to her, hoping Wen Nanshuang would be a good, filial daughter and let her father live a happy life.

Perhaps affected by the original owner's empathy, hearing her father say those words, her emotions completely collapsed.

"Dad!" With a wail, Wen Nanshuang burst into tears.

Seeing his daughter crying so bitterly, Wen Hao felt deep regret. He should have endured it longer.

Even if they were divorcing, he shouldn't have argued and fought in front of the children.

"Don't be afraid, Dad is here. Dad is here." Wen Hao patted his daughter's back gently, trying to help her calm down; crying like this for too long wasn't good for her health.

The commotion here alerted the nurses outside, who looked in and then retreated.

They knew the little girl had been caught in the crossfire of the adults' fight.

It was good that she was crying now; it would prevent her from suffering psychological trauma.

After crying for about ten minutes, the original owner's emotions finally receded.

Wen Nanshuang took over the body and consciousness.

"Dad, after you and Mom divorce, can you take me with you?" Wen Nanshuang knew from the original owner's memories what kind of person her mother was; she wouldn't let her have her way.

"Okay, you'll come with Dad." He hadn't been able to bear the thought of losing his children anyway. Since his daughter wanted to come with him, he was more than happy to agree.

"Both you and your brother will live with Dad. If your mother wants a divorce, let her have it." Wen Hao felt helpless.

He and Jiang Li had been married for over a decade, and he hadn't expected her to ask for a divorce at this time.

Since she wanted to leave, let her leave.

Ever since Nanxing was born, they hadn't been together; the affection had long since faded.

Or rather, there had never been any affection between them to begin with.

Nanshuang didn't know her father had thought so much; as long as he agreed to let her follow him, that was enough.
