My luck started turning around after my divorce.
Chapter 11: Too Insidious
Seeing such a group of people walk in, the few people in the Planning Department were all a bit dumbfounded.
Yan Jun, in particular, felt a faint sense of foreboding in his heart.
He didn't know how much of Chen Feng's "rambling" these people had heard, but if they had heard it all, it certainly wouldn't be a good thing for him.
As for Chen Feng, after a brief moment of shock, he couldn't help but feel amused.
What luck!
He had originally intended to blow things up this time, to settle old scores and get revenge, making it impossible for Yan Jun to continue in the company.
As it turned out, his wish had truly been granted.
The people who had arrived were all high-level executives of the company: the General Manager, two Deputy General Managers, as well as the managers of the Finance, HR, and Sales departments.
Chen Feng naturally recognized all of them; after all, he was considered a veteran employee of the company.
As for the woman they were surrounding, Chen Feng had no impression of her. But even with his eyes closed, he knew that with so many company executives surrounding her, she must be someone even more important.
"The two of you have personal grievances, so please don't cause a scene in the company in the future. Go outside the company and fight to the death; no one will care. Now, immediately, go back and write a 3,000-word self-criticism. We will read them together at the company meeting tomorrow. Additionally, three months of your bonuses will be deducted."
General Manager Cao was the first to speak. He kept a gloomy face, staring sternly at Chen Feng for a moment before frowning and glancing at Yan Jun, who was still covered in blood and looking disheveled.
Yan Jun hurriedly bowed his head and apologized repeatedly: "Leader, I'm sorry, it's all our fault. We will definitely reflect on this seriously. I'll go write the self-criticism right now."
Yan Jun's attitude of admitting his fault was excellent, and he turned to leave. He looked quite pathetic right now, and since Chen Feng had just exposed his embezzlement within the company, it was certainly not appropriate for him to stay here any longer.
"Wait!"
The sharp-looking woman spoke up again, calling him to a halt.
Seeing this, Yan Jun could only offer a smiling face, bowing and scraping as he asked, "Leader, do you have any other instructions?"
"Your colleague here just said that you are disloyal and have been accepting bribes. Is that true?" The woman's expression was stern, her gaze cold as she stared at him.
Yan Jun was deeply shaken and immediately retorted loudly: "Of course it's not true. He is slandering me and throwing mud at me. He has a personal grudge against me and is framing me."
The woman turned to Chen Feng and asked coldly: "Do you have evidence for the accusations you just made against him?"
Chen Feng didn't answer her immediately, but instead asked in return: "Who are you? A shareholder of our company?"
Before the woman could speak, General Manager Cao introduced her with a solemn tone: "This is Chairwoman Liu, our company's new owner. She was previously a shareholder, and now she has fully acquired our company. Let's welcome her."
After General Manager Cao finished speaking, he took the lead in applauding. Everyone else, including Chen Feng, naturally followed suit.
Chairwoman Liu remained indifferent, merely nodding slightly at the crowd before bringing the topic back to Chen Feng: "Now, answer my question."
Chen Feng smiled slightly at her and nodded: "Of course. If you want to see it now, I can show you. I just don't know if you'll call the police?"
When Chen Feng said this, the expressions of several people present changed. The one whose expression changed the most was, of course, Yan Jun; his body began to tremble. He had colluded with outsiders over the past two years and had truly pocketed quite a lot. If it were investigated, he wouldn't be able to escape several years in prison.
If that happened, his family and his life would be completely ruined.
But he couldn't figure out how Chen Feng could possibly have evidence of his embezzlement. Could it be a bluff? Must stay calm! Must stay calm!
Yan Jun barely managed to steady himself and said with a look of grief and indignation: "Chairwoman Liu, I am truly being framed by him. Whatever evidence he has must be fake. He is deliberately trying to smear me."
Chen Feng remained calm and said: "Whether it's a frame-up or not, you'll know once you see and verify it. Boss, what do you think?"
Chairwoman Liu nodded slightly: "Then let's take a look first. If he really has broken the law, I will certainly call the police and follow legal procedures."
Upon hearing this, Yan Jun felt as if he had been struck by lightning. His head was buzzing, and for a moment, he didn't know how to react.
General Manager Cao spoke up slowly: "Chairwoman Liu, I think it would be better to resolve this internally. After all, one shouldn't air one's dirty laundry in public."
Chen Feng laughed: "General Manager Cao, why does it sound like you're already certain that Yan Jun is guilty?"
The crowd was stunned, and they immediately realized the implication. That's right, what did he mean by "don't air dirty laundry"? Nothing had been investigated yet, so why did he already label it as "dirty laundry"? Or perhaps, did he know all along that Yan Jun had problems?
General Manager Cao's dark face flushed red. He glared at Chen Feng and scolded: "How insolent! Is it your place to speak here? Go back and write a 10,000-word self-criticism. If the self-criticism isn't good or your attitude isn't sincere, don't even think about getting your annual bonus."
"General Manager Cao, isn't that a bit too overbearing? You are the General Manager, sure, but you can't stop people from speaking, right? At the end of the day, you're also just an employee. And this company belongs to Chairwoman Liu."
Chen Feng was right, but his attitude was truly arrogant. What kind of ordinary employee speaks to the General Manager like that?
The reason Chen Feng didn't give General Manager Cao any face was that he was the arch-nemesis of Chen Feng's former mentor. He had originally been a Deputy General Manager, but after Chen Feng's mentor fell ill and stepped down, he took the position of General Manager. Since then, he had launched a campaign of retaliation against Chen Feng.
The reason Chen Feng had been sidelined and frustrated in the company for the past two years was entirely due to this General Manager Cao.
General Manager Cao was furious and was about to explode again when Chairwoman Liu raised her hand: "That's enough, Old Cao. I will make my own decision on this matter, so don't interfere. Chen Feng, right? Now, take me to see the evidence you mentioned. If it's true, I will certainly reward you handsomely. If it's fake, you won't need to work here anymore."
When Chen Feng heard this, he couldn't help but feel amused again. Although there were only three or four months left on his five-year contract, he would be very happy to be fired early.
Both General Manager Cao and Yan Jun knew about Chen Feng's contract.
Hearing Chairwoman Liu's words, they both had strange expressions on their faces. Their mouths moved, but in the end, they said nothing. The matter was too troublesome to explain, and they had both played disgraceful roles in it.
"Fine. I'll go turn on my computer."
Chen Feng went to a cubicle in the far corner, turned on his office computer, and after a series of operations, logged into a cloud drive. He downloaded an encrypted compressed file, decrypted it, and opened it.
"This document contains partial evidence of Yan Jun's embezzlement, disloyalty, and collusion with outsiders over the past two years. It is listed according to some of the projects in our Planning Department.
For example, in a recent project, we were responsible for planning the anniversary celebration for Dingsheng Real Estate. The Sales Department had originally negotiated 3.5 million, but after the Planning Department joined in, the other party pressured the price down several times to 3 million. With the same plan and result, the order was reduced by 500,000. Yan Jun received at least 100,000 in kickbacks from this..."
"Chen Feng! You bastard, you're slandering me! Is this your so-called evidence?"
Yan Jun finally snapped out of it and jumped up to loudly interrupt Chen Feng, his eyes red as he stared at him, looking as if he wanted to eat him alive. Because everything Chen Feng said was true.
Chen Feng had actually secretly collected so much dirt on him; it was truly insidious. He had been terrified listening to it just now and had almost impulsively rushed over to smash Chen Feng's computer.
Chen Feng ignored his impotent rage, clicked on a photo with his mouse, and introduced it to Chairwoman Liu: "This is a receipt issued by the Finance Department of Dingsheng Real Estate, stamped with their official seal. It says 'Dianchuang Culture PR Expenses: 128,000,' and the date below is September 26th. At that time, it was during the period when our Dianchuang was responsible for their anniversary celebration, exactly three days after the 3-million contract was signed. Although the receipt doesn't name names, the people responsible for this project and its execution were all from our Planning Department. Yan Jun, tell me, am I wronging you?"
Following Chen Feng's words, everyone's gaze turned toward the deathly pale Yan Jun.
