Chapter 25: The Whole Family Has Arrived

In the office of the Nanyuan Dermatology Expert Clinic, a row of people stood, including Old Master Jiang.

Both brothers, Jiang Zongjin and Jiang Zongnan, were present.

Seeing them walk in hand in hand, Jiang Zongnan spoke first: "Niannian, I'm sorry, your second aunt and sister have something to attend to and couldn't make it. Are you alright?"

Qiao Nian touched her neck, feeling uncomfortable with being surrounded like this. She said, "It's just a small wound; it won't get infected."

Old Master Jiang gave her a reproachful look but couldn't bring himself to truly blame her. He hurriedly turned to the Head of Dermatology who had been summoned.

"Director Qin, please help me examine the wound on my granddaughter's neck."

"Old Master Jiang, you are too kind!" The doctor looked panicked. With this many people in the room, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say even the hospital president should be receiving them. As a minor department head, he felt unworthy of the title "Director."

"Miss Qiao, please, come sit down." He hurriedly motioned for Qiao Nian to sit, picked up a flashlight, and carefully examined the scratch on her neck.

The girl's neck was snow-white, as porcelain-pale as milk, which made the scratch appear quite severe.

As one of the country's dermatology experts, such a minor injury was trivial to him, but with so many eyes staring at him, a thin layer of nervous sweat broke out on his forehead.

After examining her with the flashlight and then using a medical magnifying glass just to be safe, he determined that the wound was merely slightly inflamed due to the water and nothing else was wrong. He then looked up, removed his glasses, and addressed the crowd waiting around him.

Old Master Jiang was still uneasy: "Should we check again? Maybe a CT scan?"

Father Jiang also felt uneasy and chimed in: "Niannian fell into the water; we don't know if she hit anything. It would be better to get a CT scan to be sure."

Jiang Zongnan immediately said, "I'll have Jiang Li go and get a requisition for her."

Qiao Nian: "..."

Fortunately, the doctor repeatedly assured them that a CT scan was unnecessary since she was fine, and that CT scans can be harmful to health and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

The Jiang family reluctantly agreed not to do the CT scan.

In the end, they had Jiang Li accompany Qiao Nian to the nursing station to apply the medicine.
