Mad Beast War God
Chapter 33: This Is My Home
The courtyard fell silent, and everyone's hearts were gripped with terror!
Cold light flashed in Sikong Jing's eyes as he looked at the dozens of terrified servants surrounding him. His voice turned frigid: "My family does not owe you wages, yet you attempt to rob us. Therefore... you won't be receiving any funeral expenses."
"Kill..."
Shadows blurred into motion, and screams rang out one after another.
By the time Sikong Jing landed, not a single servant in the courtyard remained alive.
As for the servants outside the courtyard who had previously been too hesitant to join the robbery, they fled in a state of absolute panic.
In their eyes, Sikong Jing had transformed into a murderous demon.
Sikong Jing, of course, paid them no mind. He only killed those responsible; why would he slaughter the innocent?
His gaze fell once more upon Su Yun.
Su Yun was retreating continuously, her fingers trembling as she cried, "Criminal! You... you dare kill so many servants!"
*Slap!*
With another flash of movement, Sikong Jing struck Su Yun with a palm, sending her crashing to the ground. He looked down at her and said, "I dare even kill you, but it isn't time yet. I'll wait until your eldest brother, Su Shan, returns to face his death before I finish you."
With that, a loud *thud* echoed...
Sikong Jing delivered a kick, sending Su Yun flying out of the courtyard.
Su Yun rolled frantically on the ground in pain. It took a long while before she scrambled up, screaming, "Criminal, you're dead!"
"Su Yuexi, you ugly freak, just you wait..."
"Don't think this criminal is helping you! He was captured by the city guards, or maybe he saw things going south and ran back here! I'm going to report this to the officials right now!"
"I'll tell Grandfather and the others too! You're all dead!"
After a series of chaotic threats, Su Yun fled in a mixture of shock and fear.
In the courtyard, besides the corpses, only Sikong Jing and the mother and daughter, Su Yuexi, remained. Only then did they finally snap out of their shock.
Mei Xiaofang regained her senses, her lips trembling as she said, "Sikong Jing, how... how could you kill so many servants?"
She was terrified. It wasn't just Auntie Li and the others; he had killed dozens more.
This was going to blow up. Su Xuefeng would not be able to sit idly by and would soon bring men to attack.
Mei Xiaofang truly could not have imagined that Sikong Jing would be this ruthless.
"Mother-in-law, you have endured for too long—so long that any random servant feels they can bully you."
Sikong Jing knew exactly what Mei Xiaofang was worried about. His voice was low, and his gaze was sharp.
It wasn't just the servants; even the former friends outside could humiliate them.
Her husband, Su Zhenglong, was the master of the Su family!
The words made Mei Xiaofang tremble. Thinking of everything that had happened recently, her heart was filled with profound bitterness, yet she still shook her head. "Even so, we have to endure."
Her husband, Su Zhenglong, was bedridden with a serious illness. If they didn't endure, he would die, and they would have nothing to eat.
"I understand. But now that I am here, there is no need to endure anymore," Sikong Jing said, his voice resolute.
Mei Xiaofang's lip twitched. She wanted to say what use it was to have him around when he was merely a fourth-level Ming Realm martial artist.
She did not yet know that in three days, Sikong Jing would reach the seventh level of the Ming Realm.
However, at least he hadn't fled, so she swallowed her harsh words and said, "Then tell me, what should we do now? You've killed so many servants; Su Xuefeng and Su Zhengtao's Law Enforcement Hall will be here very soon."
A sharp light flashed in Sikong Jing's eyes as he prepared to explain...
Suddenly, a raspy voice rang out from the hall: "Let the soldiers come and the generals meet them; let the water come and the earth dam it!"
The three of them looked quickly to see Su Zhenglong appearing, leaning against the doorframe.
"Master..."
"Father..."
Mei Xiaofang and Su Yuexi cried out simultaneously and rushed toward him.
Yesterday had truly terrified them; they thought they might actually lose Su Zhenglong forever.
"I am fine," Su Zhenglong said, looking at the mother and daughter with a smile, his voice low. "Ajing is right. We can no longer endure, otherwise even a dog will feel entitled to mount our heads and defecate."
"These wicked servants... they deserved to die!"
Looking up, Su Zhenglong faced the approaching Sikong Jing and added, "Ajing, we owe you much this time."
Sikong Jing shook his head and replied, "Father-in-law, this is what I should do."
Then, Su Zhenglong's expression turned solemn. "Do not worry about what comes next, and there is no need for you to act further. I will let Su Zhengtao and the others know that the living Su Zhenglong is still the genius of Yunye City!"
"Cough, cough, cough..."
As he spoke, Su Zhenglong began to cough uncontrollably.
"Master, please, say a little less," Mei Xiaofang said with a bitter face, hurriedly patting his back.
In such a state, it was truly hard to believe he could do anything.
Ultimately, the former genius Su Zhenglong could not stop coughing and was helped back to his room to rest.
Sikong Jing did not follow him inside. Instead, he threw all the corpses in the courtyard outside the gates.
Once he was finished, he saw Su Yuexi walking out of Su Zhenglong's room alone, standing solitary at the entrance of the hall.
She stared at him with a stiff expression.
"Yuexi, what's wrong? You haven't said a word since I returned," Sikong Jing asked, walking toward her in confusion.
Behind her veil, Su Yuexi bit her lip hard, still refusing to speak.
Sikong Jing did not know what his wife was thinking. Suddenly, he pulled a hairpin from his robe and smiled, "Yuexi, look what I brought back for you."
As her eyes fell upon the emerald stone jade hairpin in Sikong Jing's hand, Su Yuexi couldn't help but cover her mouth, tears streaming down her face.
"Don't cry. I told you I would bring the emerald hairpin back," Sikong Jing said, smiling as he wiped away her tears.
However, in the next instant... *Wah!*
Su Yuexi suddenly burst into loud sobs, throwing herself fiercely into Sikong Jing's arms.
"I thought that once you left the city, you would never come back."
"I thought I would never see you again."
"I thought I was so ugly that I had finally scared you away... I was so afraid!"
As Su Yuexi sobbed, Sikong Jing froze. He realized that she had actually been terrified that he wouldn't return.
She had taken Su Yun's words to heart, but Sikong Jing could certainly understand.
Su Yuexi was too insecure; her unsightly face caused her to constantly doubt herself.
To this, Sikong Jing, who was also not skilled at expressing himself, could only hold her deeply and say, "This is... my home!"
"Sigh..."
A soft sigh drifted from Su Zhenglong's room; it was Mei Xiaofang.
Through the window, she saw the situation between her daughter and her criminal son-in-law.
She looked back at Su Zhenglong, who was half-reclined on the bed, and said, "Master, I still suspect this criminal was originally planning to flee. But just as Su Yun said, he was either captured or he saw things going wrong and ran back."
Su Zhenglong's eyes flickered upon hearing this, but he did not reply.
He truly could not fathom what his unsightly daughter had that was worth Sikong Jing's devotion, even if the man was merely a criminal.
What man does not wish for his woman to be beautiful?
