Mad Beast War God
Chapter 32: Wages and Funeral Expenses, Settled Together
“Sikong Jing, he’s back?”
Su Yuexi, who was currently resisting the onslaught of the domestic servants storming Su Zhenglong's room, froze in place as if struck by lightning.
She heard Sikong Jing's voice appearing in the courtyard—was it an illusion?
It had to be an illusion; she simply missed him too much.
“You are all seeking death!”
Just as Su Yuexi was caught in a whirlwind of hope and despair, Sikong Jing's voice rang out again.
This time, it was unmistakable, like a clap of thunder!
Boom!
A violent figure crashed into the main hall and then blurred toward Su Zhenglong's bedroom door. *Bang, bang, bang, bang...*
A series of rapid kicks flew out, striking the servants who were besieging Mei Xiaofang and Su Yuexi. Cries of agony erupted one after another as servants were kicked flying; in the blink of an eye, the attackers were cleared out.
Sikong Jing then looked toward the disheveled mother and daughter at the doorway and asked, “Yuexi, Mother-in-law, are you alright?”
The mother and daughter stared blankly at this towering figure, who was radiating fury.
Disbelief flashed in Mei Xiaofang's eyes. He had actually returned; he hadn't fled.
Su Yuexi was speechless. Her body remained motionless, terrified that this was nothing more than a dream.
At that moment, Sikong Jing heard the sound of things being moved in other rooms within the courtyard. He said, “Don't worry. I will go and strike them all out now. I intend to make them pay the price.”
Turning around, Sikong Jing charged out, sweeping up a storm of killing intent.
*Bang, bang, bang...*
More bursts of thunderous impacts and screams followed. Sikong Jing moved through the various rooms, blasting every servant out.
Hearing these sounds, Su Yuexi finally snapped out of it. She asked in a daze, “Mother, we aren't dreaming, are we? Sikong Jing is really back... he really didn't abandon me?”
Looking at her daughter, whose entire veil was soaked with tears, Mei Xiaofang replied uncertainly, “Perhaps he was captured and brought back.”
Her heart trembling, Su Yuexi fell into a state of confusion once more.
The two of them had seen too much evil; it was difficult to imagine that someone would treat them with genuine kindness, especially when that person was a criminal.
Can a criminal truly be a good person?
By this time, all the servants had been cleared out by Sikong Jing and were thrown into the open space of the courtyard.
Mei Xiaofang gripped Su Yuexi's hand tightly, comforting her, “Perhaps he truly couldn't bear to leave you, which is why he came back.”
Seeing her daughter's pained expression, Mei Xiaofang could not bear to strike her with more harsh truths.
She then pulled Su Yuexi out of the hall, praying silently that Sikong Jing had not been captured, and had not returned to this house out of necessity.
Otherwise, her fragile daughter would not be able to endure it.
“Criminal, didn't you escape the city? Why have you come back?” In the courtyard, Su Yun asked, her eyes wide.
Sikong Jing stood before the hall, casting a cold glance at the screaming, rolling servants, before suddenly looking up. “Who told you I escaped the city? This is my home, Sikong Jing. Why would I flee?”
As his words fell, the mother and daughter's hearts shuddered.
Su Yun froze for a moment, then sneered, “How grand you sound. I bet you were just captured by the city guards!”
She didn't believe for a second that Sikong Jing truly considered this his home; who in their right mind would settle for Su Yuexi? He must have been arrested after leaving the city.
Su Yuexi and her mother couldn't help but look at Sikong Jing again, hoping for an explanation.
However, Sikong Jing let out a cold laugh. “I don't have the patience for your nonsense. Once I've dealt with these servants, I'll come to teach you a lesson.”
Having said that, Sikong Jing turned to Auntie Li and the others, shouting, “You lot—how do you want to die?”
He was truly enraged. If he had been a step later, heaven knows what would have happened to Su Yuexi, or if Su Zhenglong would have died of rage in his bed.
At this moment, he was bloodthirsty. He wanted to kill.
Auntie Li finally suppressed her pain and replied viciously, “Criminal, you owe us money and haven't paid. Do you think you can just kill us off?”
“That's right! Since you haven't paid, of course we're moving your things!”
The other servants also spoke up with sneers. They felt they were in the right, and with Miss Su Yun there to back them up, they had nothing to fear.
*Clink, clink, clink...*
While the servants were clamoring, gold crystal coins began to appear in Sikong Jing's hand.
One after another, they scattered onto the ground with a crisp sound.
Instantly, every servant, including Auntie Li, widened their eyes.
They had never seen so many gold crystal coins before. The entire area fell silent.
“I said I would repay you tenfold, and I will. Who gave you permission to touch my things?” Accompanied by the sound of the coins hitting the ground, Sikong Jing's tone turned deathly cold.
Because of his terrifying killing intent, Auntie Li and the others suddenly panicked.
One servant replied with a trembling voice, “You already escaped the city, how were we supposed to know you'd come back?”
“I said I would pay today. If I hadn't returned today, it wouldn't have been too late for you to rob me tomorrow.”
“Who told you to start robbing me *now*?”
Sikong Jing's final sentence was laced with overwhelming fury, like a descending god or a roaring beast.
*Pfft...*
Several servants close to Sikong Jing spat out blood, having been injured by the sheer force of his aura.
Suddenly, Sikong Jing reached out and pulled. Auntie Li was yanked directly into his hand, his grip tightening around her throat.
Auntie Li hung in mid-air, struggling desperately.
“Let me go! What are you doing? If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for not coming back sooner!”
“Just let me go now, and we'll call it even if you pay us ten times the wages!”
Hearing this, the other servants crowded around, launching verbal attacks, claiming that they only started looting because Sikong Jing had arrived too late. Some even dared to say that even if they had looted, it didn't matter since he owed them wages anyway.
Ignoring all the noise, Sikong Jing swept a cold gaze across the crowd and said ruthlessly, “Tenfold? No, this time it will be twentyfold... To be precise, I will give each of you two gold crystal coins.”
As soon as these words were spoken, the commotion vanished. Everyone stared with wide eyes.
Auntie Li stopped struggling, her eyes gleaming as she asked, “Really?”
This criminal truly had no backbone; despite his furious appearance, he was still offering two gold crystal coins to everyone. It was both ridiculous and provocative.
But then again, what else could a criminal do?
“Of course it's true.”
*Crack...*
As Sikong Jing's voice fell, a crisp sound came from Auntie Li's neck. It had been snapped.
The servants who were still expecting a payout recoiled in terror, their eyes bulging.
The scene became so silent that one could hear a pin drop.
Sikong Jing casually tossed Auntie Li's corpse to the ground.
He then summoned two gold crystal coins and placed them on her body. Once finished, he looked up at the terrified servants and said grimly, “The wages are twentyfold. The rest is your funeral money.”
*Thud...*
One by one, the servants' legs trembled as they collapsed to the ground. Finally, someone screamed, “You... you killed Auntie Li!”
The speaker was the middle-aged male servant who had snatched Mei Xiaofang's silk three days ago.
“Not just her. I'm going to kill you too.”
With that, Sikong Jing lunged. The middle-aged servant died instantly. Sikong Jing summoned two more gold crystal coins and tossed them onto his corpse.
With a flash and a strike, in the blink of an eye, all seven servants belonging to Su Yuexi's household were dead!
