Lord of the Mysteries
Chapter 55: Revelation
Chapter 55: Revelation
With a pair of beautiful eyes, Anna hesitated for over ten seconds before saying
"You can choose any method you believe to be most effective. You are a diviner, but I am not. Of course, besides cards, including Tarot, I have also tried studying them at home, but I always felt they were more like toys, more like games."
Klein thought for a moment. Propping his elbows on the edge of the table, he clasped his hands near his mouth and nose. With a calm gaze and a steady tone, he said
"Then we shall use an astral chart for divination."
He pointed to the water-stained fountain pen and the stack of white paper on the table
"Write down your fiancé's name, his physical characteristics, his residential address, and his date of birth. If you can remember the exact time, even better."
Judging from his clothing, grooming, and temperament, Klein believed the woman was not illiterate.
Anna did not answer immediately. She reached out, pulled out a sheet of white paper, picked up the fountain pen, dipped it in some ink, and began to write rapidly, occasionally pausing to think.
Two minutes passed, and she pushed the white paper toward him.
Klein reached out to hold it down, turned it around, and took in the information on the paper
"Joyce Meyer, September 15, 1323, 2:00 PM, No. 8 Stephens Street, East District, Tingen City. Golden short hair, an aquiline nose..."
With just a glance, Klein quickly calculated the person's Life Path Number
"1 plus 5 equals 6."
In the numerology of the mystical realm, the single digit obtained by adding the digits of one's birth date is called the Life Path Number, which influences a person's life before the age of 27. The Month Number (the sum of the birth month digits) influences ages 27 to 54, and the Year Number (the sum of the birth year digits) influences life after 54.
It was July 1349. Joyce was not yet 27, so Klein directly calculated the Life Path Number.
The number 6 represented a balanced and harmonious life, involving a relatively good marriage or pre-marriage characterized by love and devotion.
Next, he calculated the person's Personal Year Number.
The so-called Personal Year Number is calculated by replacing the birth year with the current year, then adding it to the Life Path Number and the Month Number to determine the approximate fortune for the current year.
"1+3+4+9=17, 1+7=8; 8+Month Number 9+Life Path Number 6=23; 2+3=5. The Personal Year Number is 5, which indicates change and unexpected events, requiring a certain amount of adventure..." Combining this with the actual situation, Klein silently made a judgment, confirming that the information Anna provided was quite accurate.
He withdrew his gaze from the paper and looked at Anna.
"Did Mr. Meyer set off on June 3rd?"
"If he didn't lie, then yes," Anna said, biting her lip lightly.
"Alright." Klein took the pen and made a quick note of it.
He looked at Anna with his deep brown eyes and said gently
"I am going to begin drawing the corresponding astral chart. This will require some time and absolute silence. Could you wait outside for a while? Angelica will give you a cup of coffee or black tea."
"Alright." Anna knew that some diviners had eccentricities, so she was not surprised. She stood up, took her gauze hat adorned with pink and blue ribbons, and left the Citrine Room.
Klein locked the door, returned to the table, and based on the date, time, and other factors, drew the event astral chart, including elements such as zodiac signs, planets, and houses (the division of celestial positions).
During this process, he hardly consulted an "Astrology Manual," completing everything purely from memory.
—During his recent mystical studies, Klein had discovered that as long as the content was related to divination, once he learned it, he could master it easily, and it would quickly become instinct.
*Perhaps this is what a 'Diviner' is...* After finishing the chart, a sense of satisfaction welled up within him, and he felt his body, mind, and soul become much lighter.
Looking at the results, based on the zodiac signs, the houses the planets fell into, and other auxiliary symbols, he roughly judged that Joyce Meyer would encounter calamity, but would ultimately be able to emerge from it.
At this stage, the divination was actually complete, but Klein placed considerable importance on his first "business" transaction, hoping to build a reputation to facilitate his future acting. Thus, he picked up the pen again and wrote a heavy line of Hermes in the language on the paper Anna had written
"Joyce Meyer's current situation."
He muttered this sentence to himself, memorizing the birth date and other information on the paper, over and over again.
After seven repetitions, Klein gripped the paper and leaned back against his chair.
He outlined a sphere of light in his mind, his eyes turned pitch black, and he rapidly entered a state of meditation.
The surroundings instantly became ethereal. Above him, invisible things and illusory gray fog seemed to extend endlessly.
Klein recalled all the contents of the paper once more, then allowed himself to fall into a deep sleep within this state.
He was using the "Dream Divination Method"!
Repeat the question, memorize it firmly, and then allow one's astral projection to roam the Spirit World within a dream to obtain revelation!
Ordinary people might occasionally have similar experiences, but the "symbols" in their dreams are often complex, blurred, and difficult to remember. A "Diviner," however, does not face this problem and can see images intuitively.
Everything began to blur; Klein was half-awake and half-dazed.
In a distorted, illusory world, he saw a young man with golden hair and an aquiline nose, swimming frantically in a sea of blood in terror. He was nearly swallowed several times, but eventually, he luckily escaped to the shore.
The scene shattered and shifted. Klein saw a grayish-blue house with a toy windmill at the entrance. The golden-haired, aquiline-nosed young man was walking slowly inside, his expression joyful.
Just then, the scene shifted again. Klein found himself standing inside a towering palace.
The walls here had collapsed and were in a state of ruin; some places were even overgrown with moss and weeds. Through the holes in the surroundings, one could see mountain peaks and white clouds that seemed almost touching the structure.
At the very top of the palace sat a massive throne carved from stone, inlaid with dim gemstones and gold, appearing as if it were not intended for humans.
The massive throne was empty and mottled, as if it had undergone the baptism of long ages.
Klein looked around in confusion, not understanding why he was dreaming of such a scene.
His daze began to recede, and he subconsciously walked toward the outside of the palace, wanting to confirm where he was.
Suddenly, he felt a gaze upon him—a gaze coming from behind!
Klein spun around abruptly and looked at the massive stone throne, only to see what appeared to be countless transparent maggots huddled together, wriggling slowly and growing wildly.
*Hiss!*
He snapped his eyes open, waking from the dream.
The crystal ball, the Tarot cards, and the paper with the drawn astral chart entered his vision; reality quickly overcame the illusion.
"The initial dream was the result of the divination, but what was the latter part? It seemed to be directed at me?" Klein put down the paper, rubbed his temples, and thought with a frown.
He could confirm that this was not a latent fear expressing itself through a dream, because he was performing a divination.
"A non-human palace on a mountain peak... a silent gaze upon me... distorted and strange imagery of worms..." Klein recalled the previous moments, guessing silently, "Was it the one communicated with during the 'Luck-Changing Ritual,' or was it brought by the Antigonus family notebook... Right, that notebook mentioned the Nation of the Night in the Hornacis Mountains! The palace in the dream just now was on a mountain peak!"
He interpreted it briefly and felt fortunate that he had chosen "Diviner." According to Old Neil, a "Seer" could also perform "Dream Divination," but they certainly wouldn't be as proficient as he was.
*Sigh, it's haunting me... I can only hope to catch Riell Bieber soon...* Klein reined in his emotions, took the paper with the astral chart, and walked slowly toward the door.
He opened the door and entered the reception hall, seeing Anna staring out the window, completely ignoring the black tea in front of her.
"Ah, Mr. Moretti, have you obtained the results?" Catching sight of Klein out of the corner of her eye, Anna stood up hurriedly.
Klein did not answer directly. Instead, based on the revelatory images obtained from the dream, he asked
"Is there a toy windmill at your house, or at the entrance of Mr. Meyer's house?"
Anna's eyes widened suddenly, and she was stunned into silence for a long time.
After a while, she murmured
"That was a gift he gave me, right at my doorstep. How... how did you know..."
*This... this can be divined too?*
Klein revealed a smile and spoke gently
"Congratulations, Miss Anna. Mr. Joyce Meyer is currently a guest at your house. If you rush back immediately, you should still be able to meet him. He has experienced a disaster, an unimaginable journey of pain. What he needs is not questioning, but comfort, and a warm embrace."
"Re... really?" Anna asked back, unable to believe it.
The diviners she knew would never speak with such certainty or provide such definitive conclusions.
"You will know as soon as you get home," Klein said with a soft smile.
"Oh, Lord of Steam, is it true? Has my poor Joyce returned? Are you certain? No, I cannot believe..." Anna froze for a moment, speaking almost incoherently.
She pulled a 1-sol of paper currency from her handbag and, without waiting for Klein to provide change, left the Divination Club with small, almost running steps, hurriedly taking a carriage back home.
"Does that include a tip?" Klein held the banknote, shaking his head with a chuckle.
...
Two carriages drove briskly through the streets, entering the East District.
Anna watched the streets flying past the window with a mixture of trepidation, anticipation, and dread. Before long, the toy windmill leaped into her sight.
After getting off the carriage, she ignored her decorum and rushed almost stumbling to the door, ringing the bell.
The door creaked open, and Anna saw a golden-haired young man dressed in black formal wear. He looked haggard, but his eyes were joyful, and he had an aquiline nose.
"I thought I might have missed you today," Joyce said with a smile.
"...Steam above, you really are back!" Anna rubbed her eyes, shouting with a mixture of shock and joy.
What that diviner said was true!
No, that was a true Diviner!
It was simply miraculous!
With thoughts surging and boiling, Anna held back her tears, threw herself forward, and gave her fiancé a warm embrace.
Outside the grayish-blue house, the two embraced quietly as the toy windmill turned slowly, and all the tribulations seemed to have drifted far away.
