I just became the Pirate King, and you're telling me I've transmigrated at the same time?
Chapter 49: One Against Many
Marcus froze completely, staring at Chu Yang with an expression of disbelief. "You're just a first-year. Where on earth did you learn such a spell?"
"It's all written in books, isn't it?" Chu Yang sneered. "Besides the Disarming Charm, I also know the Petrification Charm you just mentioned."
Realizing things had taken a turn for the worse, Marcus shouted urgently, "Stop him, quickly!"
Harper immediately drew his wand, preparing to cast a spell at Chu Yang. However, the moment he pulled it from his robes, a flash of light struck the wand in his hand with pinpoint accuracy!
Another wand went flying!
"How can your casting speed be so fast? Even a fifth-year student doesn't have this kind of speed!" Harper screamed in panic, quickly drawing the attention of the surrounding older students.
Some among them watched from the sidelines.
Others immediately chose to help Harper and Marcus.
If word got out that the two of them had been disarmed by a first-year, the older students would lose all face!
And to be disarmed by a non-pureblood wizard, no less!
The older students who had been watching the drama began to draw their wands one after another, all preparing to launch Disarming Charms at Chu Yang.
However, something spine-chilling happened... no matter who was present, as long as they intended to act, Chu Yang's Disarming Charm would descend within a second, accurately hitting the wand in their hand without exception.
At this moment, Chu Yang seemed as if he could foresee the future!
In a mere twenty seconds, a pile of wands had gathered on the common room floor!
"That first-year actually cast the Disarming Charm over a dozen times in such a short period. Even an adult wizard couldn't possess such massive magical power!"
"His casting speed is even faster than wizards who have passed their O.W.L.s!"
Exclamations erupted continuously from the crowd. They had intended to watch the non-pureblood wizard make a fool of himself, but instead, they witnessed a scene that overturned their understanding of magic.
As the instigators, Marcus and Harper were now filled with bitter regret!
"I said, besides the Disarming Charm, I also know the incantation for the Petrification Charm." Chu Yang revealed a demonic smile. He had no intention of letting these people off so easily; this was not the outcome he wanted.
Chu Yang was a person who hated trouble and loathed "cockroach-style" enemies who kept coming back. It was best to make them feel the pain to settle things once and for all.
Hearing the words "Petrification Charm," the older students who had intended to attack Chu Yang all lost their composure!
"Run!"
Marcus yelled, turning and bolting toward the exit of the common room.
Seeing this, the others immediately followed. In their frantic scramble, they knocked over many decorations, turning the once-elegant hall into a chaotic mess.
But no matter how fast they ran, they were no match for the wand in Chu Yang's hand.
After several flashes of light, the older students led by Marcus froze in place, unable to move, with only their eyes able to blink slightly.
"Aren't you seniors heading to class yet?" Chu Yang said indifferently to the observing older students, offering a warning. "If you're late, our house will lose more points again."
His cold words fell like winter frost upon their hearts. The "seniors" didn't dare linger a moment longer and rushed toward the exit.
This freshman, who was as strong as a monster, was clearly not someone they could deal with. If they didn't run now, were they planning to stay and serve as statues?
A moment later, only a group of boys standing like sculptures remained in the Slytherin common room.
"I just want to study magic in peace. Why is it so hard?" Chu Yang sighed, shaking his head helplessly. "No matter how I look at it, I should blame that old man Dumbledore..."
For the sake of the secret knowledge in the Restricted Section of the library, no matter what arrangements Dumbledore made for him, Chu Yang could only grit his teeth and accept it!
While grumbling, Chu Yang walked out, stepping over their fallen wands.
*Crunch... crunch...*
Hearing the sound, Marcus and the others immediately wore expressions of heartache. At this moment, Chu Yang's retreating figure left a profound shadow in their minds.
Once again, Slytherin students were absent from breakfast in the Great Hall.
Only this time, the absentees had changed from first-years to older students.
Snape had a vague sense of foreboding, but he didn't think much of it and returned to his Potions classroom as usual to prepare for teaching.
However, what happened next confirmed his premonition.
More students were absent from class, and they were from Slytherin. After class, Snape left the classroom with a dark expression!
As soon as the morning classes ended, Chu Yang was summoned to the Headmaster's office by Dumbledore.
And a grim-faced Snape was already waiting inside.
The moment the two met in the office, the air immediately grew thick with tension.
"Mr. Chu Yang, can you tell me whether you are seeking revenge on those students, or seeking revenge on me?"
It was only the third day of the term, and yet another mass truancy incident had occurred in Slytherin!
And the culprit was still that same Chu Yang!
Snape's face was livid, his body trembling with rage, and his voice was as cold as if it had been thawed from an ice cellar. "In all my time as Head of Slytherin House, nothing like this has ever happened."
Chu Yang gazed into Snape's slightly reddened eyes and said with a sincere attitude, "I am very sorry, Professor Snape. I also want to live every day in peace, but the environment does not permit it. Perhaps you should speak with Headmaster Dumbledore; it might be more practical to let me transfer schools."
Snape gave a cold snort. He knew very well that Chu Yang had been specifically placed in Slytherin by Dumbledore, and he understood Dumbledore's intentions to some extent.
Despite Dumbledore's warnings to Chu Yang, the fact was that he was happy to see Chu Yang teach those overly arrogant Slytherin students a lesson.
Besides, there was no such thing as transferring houses in Hogwarts tradition. Once the Sorting Hat had placed you, it was for life.
"Mr. Chu Yang, transferring is impossible. Hogwarts has never had such a precedent."
Dumbledore first corrected Chu Yang's attitude, then turned to Snape. "Although Chu Yang used the Petrification Charm on those students, we have also learned that those older students were the ones who initiated the conflict first."
"Professor Snape, I believe Slytherin needs to strengthen its character education. A group of older students bullying a freshman is not something to be proud of!"
The veins on Snape's neck were practically throbbing with rage. He suddenly remembered what he had said to Chu Yang in Potions not long ago; he hadn't expected the boy to slap him in the face with his strength so quickly.
And quite a loud slap at that!
He estimated that every year in the entire school had heard it!
Dumbledore adjusted his glasses and said in a heavy voice, "The Petrification Charm is not a particularly harmful spell. Let this matter end here. If those students have any objections, they can come to me. I doubt anyone would have the nerve."
Looking at the whole situation, the key point was that the older students had struck first.
Therefore, no one could blame Chu Yang for his act of self-defense.
Snape could only swallow the humiliation of being slapped in the face by Chu Yang and hurriedly took his leave.
