Great Li Martial God

Chapter 41: Fu Yu

“It is somewhat interesting, indeed.”

Li Musheng did not press further. In this world where martial arts flourished, it was not impossible that things existing beyond human capability might exist.

At that moment, Cang Yinyue composed her emotions and spoke

“What I need to remind you of is that there seem to be signs of unrest in the Imperial Capital. The remnants of Great Qi have not surfaced for many years, yet for them to make such a massive move upon their reappearance is truly abnormal.”

“Furthermore, your identity is currently unconfirmed, so you must be extra cautious. I have a feeling that the future of this capital may not be peaceful.”

Hearing this, Li Musheng narrowed his eyes slightly. After a moment of thought, he gave Cang Yinyue a reassuring look.

“Enough, Miss Cang, there is no need to worry excessively. If the sky falls, those with more height will hold it up. It is more important that we proceed steadily to find the key to the Heavenly Enlightenment Secret Treasury.”

Li Musheng waved his hand with a smile. Tonight's affairs had come to an end, and it could be considered a successful endeavor.

He did not linger there. After letting Cang Yinyue handle the armored soldier on her own, he turned back to return to the Aurora Pavilion to rest.

Having reached a point where his martial realm could progress no further, the current Li Musheng no longer needed to practice breathing techniques or study martial arts; he had already reached a state of returning to simplicity and truth.

Consequently, both in appearance and essence, he looked no different from an ordinary person—provided, of course, that he did not take action.

A night passed.

In the early morning, Cang Yinyue went to the main headquarters of the Six Doors to report for duty as usual. However, unlike previous days, she was pushing a large wooden cart.

Currently, a large portion of the energy of both the Six Doors and the Heavenly Brocade Guard was being poured into the full-scale search and pursuit of that escaped remnant of Great Qi.

Unfortunately, the armored soldier seemed to have vanished into thin air, and the Six Doors had yet to make any progress.

“Constable Cang, what is wrong with you today? Why have you come to the yamen pushing a cart?”

The guard constable at the entrance appeared very curious upon seeing Cang Yinyue's unusual behavior.

Cang Yinyue did not say much. She simply parked the cart at the entrance of the Six Doors and said

“Go inside and notify them. Tell them there is no need to look for that Great Qi remnant anymore; I have brought him here.”

Hearing this, the constable on guard froze, seemingly thinking he had misheard. He looked at the cart covered in black cloth and asked uncertainly

“Constable Cang, are you saying that the Great Qi remnant we have been searching for is lying right here on this?”

Cang Yinyue did not repeat herself. She merely nodded calmly and said

“Go report it. While you're at it, fetch the registrar who records merits, so that I don't have to make an extra trip later.”

Upon hearing this, the constable hesitated for a moment but still said

“Please wait a moment, Constable Cang.”

He then hurried toward the inner halls. After a short while, he arrived directly before a small hall. After a moment of thought, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door

“Reporting to Constable Fu, I have an important matter to report.”

The next moment, with a "creak," the vermilion wooden door in front of the constable opened on its own without wind.

Simultaneously, a slightly raspy voice came from inside the room

“Come in and speak.”

Only then did the constable step through the door. However, as his gaze swept the room, he saw that Ji Feiyun and Gong Lishan were also present.

Seeing this, he hurriedly cupped his hands in salute to the two constables before looking toward a young man sitting behind the desk.

The young man was around thirty years old. He sat with a back as straight as a pine tree, possessing a high bridge to his nose and thin, pressed lips. His face was as cold and stern as if carved by a blade.

His ink-black hair was simply tied up, and his brow carried an air of stability and majesty. This was Fu Yu, the head of the Ten Great Constables of the Six Doors headquarters.

“Speak. What is it?”

Fu Yu spoke indifferently, looking toward the constable. Ji Feiyun and Gong Lishan, sitting on either side, also cast their gazes toward him.

“Constable Fu, Constable Cang sent me to report this. I do not know if it is true or false.”

The constable saluted and simultaneously stole a cautious glance at Fu Yu.

To be honest, he did not quite believe that Cang Yinyue could truly capture a Great Qi remnant whose strength was comparable to a Martial Grandmaster. Therefore, he first distanced himself from the matter to avoid being blamed for reporting false intelligence.

After all, throughout the entire Six Doors, who didn't know that Cang Yinyue was Constable Fu's fiancée? If he were used as a scapegoat, there would be no justice to be found.

At this moment, an inscrutable look flashed through Fu Yu's eyes as he said

“Regardless of whether it is true or false, speak freely.”

Hearing this, the constable nodded slightly and proceeded to recount everything that had happened at the main entrance of the Six Doors in detail.

“You say Cang Yinyue caught that Great Qi remnant?”

Ji Feiyun stood up from his chair, coughing violently with a pale face; clearly, his heavy injuries had not yet healed.

“That is what Constable Cang said,” the constable nodded.

“How is that possible? Even Yu Jin, with his half-step Grandmaster strength, was heavily injured by that man. Cang Yinyue hasn't even reached the Grandmaster realm; how could she take him down?”

A sneer appeared on Ji Feiyun's face; he did not believe it in the slightest.

The constable did not argue, merely standing there in awkward silence.

Fu Yu remained silent for a moment, then exchanged a look with the rugged-looking Gong Lishan. Gong Lishan nodded slightly and said

“Although this matter is indeed unlikely, Constable Cang is not one to speak recklessly. Perhaps she has mistaken the suspect. It would be best to go and take a look and handle this matter quickly. Do not let our colleagues make a mockery of you; it will not be good for your reputation.”

Fu Yu's face showed no expression. He simply stood up from the desk and said indifferently

“I will be back shortly. Wait for me here for a moment.”

With that, he walked toward the door.

Seeing this, Ji Feiyun did not stay in the room but hurried to follow.

Gong Lishan shook his head; naturally, there was no reason for him to stay behind alone.

Soon, the three arrived at the main entrance of the Six Doors.

However, many constables had already gathered around, all looking at Cang Yinyue and the cart at the entrance, discussing it in low, curious voices.

Seeing this, Fu Yu's brow furrowed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He pushed through the crowd to approach her and spoke softly

“Yin Yue, I heard you caught the Great Qi remnant?”

Upon hearing this, Cang Yinyue, who had been resting with her eyes closed, suddenly opened them. She looked directly at him and said coldly

“Do you not believe me?”

He was exactly who she had been waiting for.

The entire Six Doors knew she was the fiancée of the head of the Ten Great Constables, and they all assumed she was riding on the coattails of this hypocritical man.

In the past, her abilities were limited, but today she intended to put on a show before everyone, letting them all know that her success as Cang Yinyue had nothing to do with him.

She had no desire to acknowledge the marriage arranged by her family, nor did she care to be his so-called fiancée.

“Yin Yue, you misunderstand. That is not what I meant. In truth, if one misidentifies a criminal, it is a perfectly normal occurrence.”

Fu Yu shook his head gently, with no trace of blame in his eyes.
