Great Li Martial God

Chapter 40: The Second Prince

Next, Cang Yinyue returned to her room in the courtyard to interrogate the armored soldier.

However, before leaving, she tried her utmost to persuade Li Musheng to stay as far away from that Hidden Kill Order as possible.

Li Musheng, however, remained unmoved.

He leaped back onto the roof, looked up at the moonlight in the sky, and shook his head.

Could there really be someone in this world capable of killing him?

"Only three assassination attempts. Hidden Kill Pavilion, I hope you are a people of your word; you should be of at least some use to me."

...

An incense stick's time later, Cang Yinyue emerged from the room looking slightly exhausted.

"I believe everything has been clarified. He did not have the key to the Tianqi Secret Treasury on him."

Cang Yinyue looked toward Li Musheng, who had dropped down from the roof, and said

"However, he did reveal some clues regarding the keys."

"What clues?"

Li Musheng was not surprised by this result. In truth, he didn't think his luck was good enough to immediately reap rewards just by stumbling upon a remnant of the Great Qi.

"On the surface, these Great Qi remnants belong to a faction called 'Qingshan Pavilion.' Over the years, they have never actually given up their search for the Tianqi Secret Treasury."

Cang Yinyue spoke slowly, then shook her head and continued

"However, although this man holds a certain status within Qingshan Pavilion, matters concerning the Tianqi Secret Treasury are high-level secrets. His knowledge is limited; he only knows that there should be one or two keys in Shangyang City, and one of those keys seems to be related to the Second Prince."

"The Second Prince?" Li Musheng raised an eyebrow.

Cang Yinyue nodded slightly, then narrowed her eyes and said

"You should remember the two men from General Wu'an's subordinates that we encountered on the way here. And General Wu'an is a man of the Second Prince."

"Among all the princes, aside from the legitimate eldest son, the First Prince, the Second Prince and that fake Seventh Prince are the most likely candidates to contend for the position of Crown Prince."

As she spoke, Cang Yinyue explained to Li Musheng

"The Second Prince's martial talent is not even weaker than that of the fake Seventh Prince. It is just that he is obsessed with political maneuvering and is highly ambitious, focusing most of his energy on developing his own power. Even so, he is a true Grandmaster of the Martial Dao realm."

As if fearing that Li Musheng might take some unwise action due to his obsession with finding the keys to the Tianqi Secret Treasury, Cang Yinyue thought for a moment and then reminded him with a serious expression

"From what I know, the Second Prince's manor maintains a group of martial arts experts from the world of Jianghu as his advisors, including many martial masters. It is no different from a dragon's den or a tiger's lair."

"More importantly, every prince of the Great Li has experts from the Imperial Palace secretly protecting them. I advise you not to act rashly."

Hearing this, Li Musheng rubbed his chin thoughtfully and nodded slowly.

Seeing this, Cang Yinyue felt a momentary sense of relief, thinking that he had taken her words to heart.

However, in the next moment, she heard Li Musheng follow up with a question

"Then, where is the Second Prince's manor located?"

Cang Yinyue: "???"

...

Li Musheng looked at the strange expression in her eyes and waved his hand, saying

"Don't worry. The information regarding that Great Qi remnant is ambiguous; naturally, I won't alert the enemy easily. I was just asking casually."

Cang Yinyue's brows furrowed tightly, appearing somewhat skeptical of his words.

Li Musheng looked contemplative for a moment before saying

"My suggestion is still that we should start with the Qingshan Pavilion faction. Once we capture an important figure from the Great Qi remnants and obtain confirmed information, it won't be too late to act."

"Besides, didn't you just say that there might be more than one key in Shangyang City? Perhaps those people also know where the other key is?"

Hearing this, Cang Yinyue stared at Li Musheng for a while, finally letting out a soft sigh.

Even though Li Musheng said this, his words clearly indicated that he had no intention of giving up on going to the Second Prince's manor.

However, she truly had no way to stop him. After all, he couldn't win in a fight, and his true identity was that of a prince.

Thus, she could only say

"Regarding the situation with Qingshan Pavilion, I will inform the Six Doors tomorrow and have them investigate. Once there is progress, I will certainly notify you promptly."

"And I have only one requirement: before your identity as the Seventh Prince is confirmed, do not act rashly. The Second Prince's manor is by no means a safe place. If something happens, even I won't be able to save you."

Li Musheng shrugged, but his gaze shifted toward the room in the courtyard as he asked

"Aside from this, did that fellow reveal anything else?"

At this, Cang Yinyue nodded slightly and said

"This is also what I wanted to tell you next. The purpose of this person infiltrating the Aurora Pavilion was indeed to kill the real Seventh Prince and take revenge on the Great Li Imperial Family, but that was not their most important objective."

"Their true plan was to create chaos in the Aurora Pavilion to draw the attention of various factions in the Imperial Capital, while actually intending to secretly infiltrate 'Dragon Abyss Lake' to steal the 'Dragon-Governing Divine Sword'."

"The Dragon-Governing Divine Sword? What is that?" Li Musheng looked puzzled.

Cang Yinyue's eyes flickered as she explained in a heavy voice

"The Great Qi once gathered the top blacksmiths in the world, consuming countless wealth and resources to forge five divine artifacts that suppressed the destiny of the dynasty."

"When the Great Qi fell, those five divine artifacts were divided among the five nations. The Dragon-Governing Divine Sword obtained by Great Li is one of them."

Upon hearing this, Li Musheng felt a surge of curiosity and asked

"What is so special about the Dragon-Governing Divine Sword? Why would those Great Qi remnants take such a risk to obtain it?"

Cang Yinyue blinked her eyelashes, glanced at him, and said

"Since they are called divine artifacts, they naturally possess extraordinary qualities, beyond the legend that they gather the destiny of the world and that gathering all five can allow one to dominate the realm."

"Each divine artifact is a legendary weapon that martial artists throughout the world dream of, possessing an unfathomable and powerful might."

As she spoke, a sharp light appeared in Cang Yinyue's eyes

"There was once a ranking of the world's weapons circulating in the Jianghu. There were twenty-three weapons on the list, and all five of the Great Qi's divine artifacts were included among them."

"Furthermore, I have also heard a rumor..."

At this point, Cang Yinyue paused, and Li Musheng hurriedly asked

"What rumor?"

"It is said that if someone can gain the recognition of any one of these five divine artifacts, as long as they are a martial artist who has reached the Xiantian Realm, they can leap across three realms in a single night and step directly into the Heavenly Realm."

Cang Yinyue's eyes were bright, filled with a sense of longing.

Hearing this, Li Musheng frowned

"And here I thought it was something else."

However, on second thought, he couldn't help but nod slightly

"It sounds quite mystical. For those who have never stepped into the Heavenly Realm, it certainly holds considerable attraction."

Then, he looked at Cang Yinyue and asked

"Is this rumor reliable?"

Cang Yinyue shook her head and said

"It is merely a rumor. The truth of this matter is likely known only to people of the Imperial Family like yourselves."
