Global Gaming: Idle From the Zombie Apocalypse
Chapter 12: Hidden Quest
“Oh? You’ve actually completed the mission so quickly?!”
Inside the Doomsday Merchant’s camp, the bearded man looked at Fang Heng’s early return with a face full of surprise.
“Very good, young survivor. You’ve done an outstanding job! Your performance has truly impressed me.”
[Hint: You have completed the mission to clear out the Lumberjack Camp. You have gained the appreciation of the Doomsday Merchant, Vettel.]
[Hint: You have gained 4,167 Survival Points.]
[Hint: Your favorability with Vettel has increased.]
[Hint: Because you completed the mission in an extremely short amount of time, your favorability with the Doomsday Merchant has received an additional significant boost.]
“It’s rare to see such an excellent young man like you. Recently, some of my friends have been looking for people like you. I wonder if you’ve heard of the Dark Knights?”
The Dark Knights?!
It’s a hidden mission!
Fang Heng was both surprised and delighted.
His hidden rating had reached the point of contact with the Dark Knights so quickly!
In the memories of this body, the Dark Knights were related to the main storyline of the game world. Only players with a hidden score in the Main God game above a certain level were eligible to encounter them, and there were also quite stringent hidden trigger conditions.
Fang Heng had even heard rumors in his previous gaming club that the Dark Knights were related to clearing the Zombie Apocalypse world.
“It seems you’ve heard of them. The Dark Knights are an organization established after the disaster. They have been searching for a way to save all of humanity.”
“An old friend of mine is a member of the Dark Knights. If you’re interested, I can recommend you to join them.”
“I am very interested!”
“Very good. The Dark Knights need powerful survivors, so you need to achieve some results to prove your strength.”
“What do you need me to do?”
“Two hundred kilometers away from here, there is a small town. In the dean’s office on the third floor of the town’s health clinic, there is a vial of T-virus serum. I hope you can find it and bring it back to me safely.”
“Once you complete the mission, I will take you to find the guide for the Dark Knights.”
[Hint: Player has triggered the mission - Find the T-virus serum.]
Mission Name: Find the T-virus serum.
Mission Description: Find the T-virus serum and deliver it to the Doomsday Merchant, Vettel (You can find the T-virus serum in the dean’s office on the third floor of the community clinic in Hope Town. You may also find the T-virus serum through other means).
Hint: As time passes, the anti-virus serum in Hope Town may be taken or destroyed by other survivors beforehand.
Mission Time Limit: 60 days.
“The difficulty has jumped up this much?”
Fang Heng frowned and muttered to himself.
In the apocalypse, the number of zombies in cities is extremely high, and the probability of encountering mutated zombies is also much greater, significantly increasing the danger.
In his original plan, city exploration was something he would only consider after building a shelter.
Fortunately, this mission gave him a full 60 days to complete it. Theoretically, he just needed to find the serum before other players did.
This was his best opportunity to get in touch with the main storyline of the game world!
After a brief analysis, Fang Heng immediately chose to accept the mission.
There was no penalty for failure anyway!
“I will help you get the serum.”
“I admire your confidence, survivor. I wish you success.” The bearded man nodded in approval. “Also, a piece of advice: the sooner you get the anti-virus serum before it’s destroyed, the better.”
Fang Heng understood that the bearded man was hinting that the faster he completed the mission, the higher the reward provided by the game would be.
However.
He really couldn’t complete the mission in a short time!!
“Thank you.” Fang Heng gave a wry smile and continued, “Also, I would like to exchange for some supplies.”
After completing the mission, the 4,167 Survival Points reward was credited to his account. Added to the 1,300+ points he had previously obtained from clearing out zombies, Fang Heng now had a massive fortune of 5,520 Survival Points!
It was only the second day since the New World opened; such a huge sum was something even high-level gaming guilds couldn't possibly have gathered.
“Of course. The supplies I have here are of good quality and reasonably priced. Besides, you just did me a big favor, so I can give you a ‘friendship price’.”
“Thank you.”
Fang Heng knew this was the benefit of increased favorability—he could enjoy a small discount when exchanging for supplies.
The bearded man waved his hand, and an exchange list floated in front of Fang Heng’s retina.
Fang Heng quickly browsed the sales catalog.
The materials provided in the Doomsday Merchant’s exchange list were diverse. In addition to food, there were some precise high-end materials, and even firearms and ammunition were for sale.
It’s just that the prices of the firearms were equally astonishing.
Originally, Fang Heng only wanted to buy a few furnaces, but when he saw the modified motorcycle for sale on the list, he immediately hesitated.
The modified motorcycle had a detachable two-wheeled rack installed at the back, which could hold a large amount of supplies.
A modified motorcycle was a fantastic tool for both traveling alone and transporting supplies!
The only drawback was that it consumed fuel! But he had just scavenged two crates of fuel from the Lumberjack Camp not long ago...
Fang Heng fell into a dilemma.
He wanted both!
But in terms of price, he could only afford to buy three furnaces or one modified motorcycle.
If only he had a few more Survival Points.
“What? Do none of these things catch your eye?”
Seeing Fang Heng’s troubled expression, Vettel thought he wasn’t satisfied, so he smiled and waved his hand, opening another exchange tab in front of Fang Heng.
“Then take a look here. These are all my private collection, usually not available to the public. Also, you can only exchange for these materials at the original price; discounts are not supported.”
Fang Heng’s eyes lit up.
The Doomsday Merchant had a hidden exchange tab? This was the first time he had heard of it.
Old man! You’ve hidden this well!
Seeing the items provided in the hidden exchange list, Fang Heng’s breathing became a little rapid for a moment.
There were actually skill books for sale!!
What motorcycle! What forging furnace! Their value combined couldn’t even compare to this skill book!
Fang Heng reached out and tapped on a skill manual, looking at Vettel with some excitement, “Uncle, I want this.”
Item: Doomsday Survival - Strength Training.
Type: Skill Book (Player has not yet mastered this skill).
Description: After learning, you can master the skill - Strength Training. Each level adds an additional 0.2 points to the player’s base strength. This skill can be upgraded to a maximum of LV: 20 (Skill level cannot exceed the current player level).
“Of course. A very smart choice. You only need 1,500 points to purchase this skill book. It can help you provide decent combat power in your survival.”
Vettel shrugged, “What could be better than investing in yourself?”
In the Main God game, players cannot gain any attribute bonuses just by leveling up.
Therefore, a skill book like this had already been hyped up to a price of millions in the real world!
Fang Heng licked his lips and pointed to the remaining two skill books on the exchange list, “And these two, Physical Training and Agility Training. I want these two as well.”
“Very well, that’s a total of 4,600 Survival Points.”
[Hint: You have spent 4,600 Survival Points to purchase Strength Training, Physical Training, and Agility Training.]
