Global Gaming: Idle From the Zombie Apocalypse
Chapter 11: Clearing the Logging Camp
The logging camp was not far from the Doomsday Merchant’s camp.
Fifteen minutes later, Fang Heng had already reached the outskirts of the logging camp.
He hid in a patch of low bushes, observing in secret.
Good heavens, at a glance, hundreds of zombies had occupied this logging camp.
They were packed densely together, and the whimpering of the zombies filled his ears; anyone who saw this scene would feel their scalp tingle.
Fang Heng hadn't expected the number of zombies to be this high.
He rubbed his hands together in excitement.
"Just in time, this gives me a chance to farm evolution crystal fragments!"
Fang Heng waved his hand, and the ten zombies that had been following him immediately went into action.
They moved slowly and lethargically, holding wooden spears, and stumbled into the logging camp.
The zombies inside the camp had no perception of these ten "intruders" and continued to stand there blankly.
"Stab!"
A zombie clone raised its spear and thrust it fiercely into the back of a zombie in front of it.
The zombie that had been pierced by the wooden spear slowly turned its head, looking at its zombie peer with an expressionless face.
Ordinary zombies could not feel pain; their brains were occupied only by the most basic desire to feed. It would not understand, nor would it think about, why this peer had suddenly stabbed it.
It continued to stand in place, dazed.
The zombies in this logging camp were like lambs waiting for the slaughter, standing silently in place, being attacked by Fang Heng's zombie clones over and over again until they died.

[Hint: Your zombie clone killed a strong zombie, +3 survival points, obtained Evolution Crystal Fragment x1.]
[Hint: Your zombie clone killed...]
Fang Heng was currently hiding in the bushes at the entrance of the camp, silently watching the messages scrolling through his game log.
AFK farming is truly amazing!
At first, watching the zombies farm monsters was indeed a bit exciting.
But after the initial excitement passed, the somewhat bored Fang Heng sat down on his butt, took a can of fruit out of his backpack, and started eating.
There was no helping it; this was the suppression of a talent skill.
In a zombie apocalypse world, the "Zombie Clone" talent was simply too useful!
Zero-damage monster farming!
Especially after the zombie clones reached a certain scale! The efficiency of farming monsters increased significantly.
If this were any other apocalypse world, like a wasteland world, the slow-moving zombie clones would have long since been torn to pieces by mutant creatures.
How could it be like this, where silly zombies just stand there one by one letting you hack at them?
[Hint: You have completed the clearing of the camp.]
[Hint: You have completed the clearing mission for the logging camp. Please return to the Doomsday Merchant camp as soon as possible and find the Doomsday Merchant, Vettel, to claim your mission reward.]
By the time the game notification sounded in his ears, more than three hours had passed.
It took three hours just for them to stand there and let the zombies stab them tirelessly; one can imagine how much of a price a regular player would have to pay to clear a zombie camp.
The zombie clones walked out of the camp one by one, throwing the evolution crystal fragments dropped from the monsters in front of Fang Heng.
[Hint: You have obtained Evolution Crystal Fragments x47.]
Rich, I'm rich.
Fang Heng grabbed a handful of the shiny evolution crystal fragments from the ground and crushed them directly in his hand.
"Bang!"
A thick cloud of blood mist exploded in his palm, and Fang Heng felt a faint surge of power flow into his body through his palm.
"Bang!!"
"Bang, bang!!"
Bloody mists exploded one after another.
[Hint: Your character level has increased to LV: 5.]
The soil behind him churned, and five newly resurrected zombie clones joined the team.
Fang Heng was quite satisfied; his zombie army had expanded by another third, and his combat power had greatly increased.
After reaching level 5, ordinary evolution crystal fragments could no longer provide experience points; he would need higher-level complete evolution crystals to continue leveling up.
The acquisition method for complete crystals was more troublesome; generally, one had to kill elite monsters for a chance to drop them.
Besides that, there were other ways to obtain them, such as the Doomsday camp having a small probability of selling complete evolution crystals, or some players being able to use special skills or talents to reassemble fragments into complete crystals.
For now, obtaining complete evolution crystals was still a bit difficult, so Fang Heng decided not to consider it for the time being.
Fang Heng put the remaining 13 evolution crystal fragments into his backpack and led the zombie horde into the abandoned logging camp to collect supplies.
Ten minutes later, the ground in front of Fang Heng was piled high with materials.
[Hint: Your zombie horde searched the logging camp. You obtained: Small Can of Gasoline x2, Firewood x21, Cooking Pot x1, Steel Logging Axe x33, Logs x291, Scrap Parts x23, Worn-out Mountain Bike x1, Scraps x2, Rags x21, Frozen Dumplings x10, Logger's Jacket x24...]
Good stuff!
A mountain bike!
Fang Heng's eyes lit up!
A treasure that could significantly increase his exploration speed in the wild! A god-tier item for traveling!
In a forest environment, a mountain bike was sometimes even more useful than a military truck! It could greatly shorten the time it took to get home!
And steel logging axes!
He would need a large amount of wood to build a shelter later.
With steel logging axes, the zombie clones could log wood much more efficiently!
"I'm rich, I'm really rich now!"
And there were so many finished logs, saving him a huge amount of time on chopping.
Gasoline!
Once he had a generator, he could generate electricity, and vehicles also needed gasoline as fuel. Whether in the early, middle, or late game, gasoline was an extremely important material!
Frozen dumplings!
Nice! Nothing tastes better than dumplings!
Huh? And clothes?
Most ordinary clothing in the game didn't have any attributes.
Fang Heng took a look at the item description.
Item: Logger's Jacket.
Description: Increases defense by 1 point when worn. (Wearing both the Logger's Jacket and Logger's Pants provides an additional 25% logging efficiency.)
The 1-point defense increase was decent, though the set was a bit ugly.
Fang Heng thought for a moment, then waved for a nearby zombie clone to come over and had it put on the set.
"Not bad, not bad, it fits well."
The zombie looked perfectly natural wearing the logger's set, and it even gained 1 point of defense.
Although 1 point of defense was negligible for a zombie, the additional 25% logging efficiency provided by the set was exactly what Fang Heng wanted.
The harvest after clearing the logging camp was astonishing.
Looking at the pile of supplies on the ground, Fang Heng began to feel troubled again.
His current backpack wasn't big enough; he couldn't carry all these things back at once.
With less than half an hour until dark, it wasn't realistic to make a round trip between the shelter and the logging camp.
Helpless, Fang Heng could only take some high-value food and logging axes, temporarily leaving the heavier materials like logs behind.
The remaining materials couldn't be wasted; after sunset tonight, he would have the zombies transport them back to the system shelter one by one.
Fang Heng packed his backpack to the brim, hopped on the bike, and headed toward the Doomsday Merchant camp to turn in the quest.
