Chapter 12: Moving to a New Dormitory

The intern girl was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly nodded in excitement.

The sales manager standing nearby couldn't help but look shocked. While the property owners who bought houses here were indeed people of significant means, no one had ever bought two units at once.

Because the unit price for these villas was very high, two units at once would cost nearly 20,000 yuan. Not to mention that few people had that much cash flow, even for a bank loan, 20,000 yuan was too much for a bank's risk assessment!

"Ma'am, please have a seat. I'll go refill your hot water, or would you prefer coffee or juice?" The manager snapped out of it, her service attitude instantly skyrocketing tenfold.

"Coffee is fine."

"Alright, no problem."

Before long, the male salesperson brought over the prepared contracts. Shen Ci didn't look at him directly; she simply reached out to take the contracts and flipped through them.

The manager brought over the coffee: "Ma'am, please take a good look at the contracts."

With that, she reached out and pulled the male salesperson aside.

"Xiao Liu, what is wrong with you? The mistake you made today is very serious. You almost caused us to lose a major client!"

"Manager, I... I really had a lapse in judgment at the time."

"The owner originally bought the house through you, which is why they entrusted the sale to you. This is an affirmation of your professional ability. If you let this house fail to sell because of your own negligence, you are failing the owner's trust and losing your own commission."

"I know I was wrong, Manager. It won't happen again."

"You're usually so sharp. The agency rights are in your hands; no matter who you sell it to, the commission is yours. Do I really need to remind you of that?"

The male salesperson nodded repeatedly, feeling deep regret.

Shen Ci finished reading both contracts and found no issues. She signed the intern girl's copy first. The girl's eyes lit up the moment she saw the signature completed.

For a 9,000-yuan house, her commission would be several dozen yuan. She hadn't expected to land such a big deal during her internship.

However, when it came time to sign the second contract, Shen Ci paused.

She looked up at the manager and said, "Count this one for her as well."

With a slight lift of her slender finger, Shen Ci pointed at the intern girl.

Everyone was stunned. The most anxious was the male salesperson, Xiao Liu, but he opened his mouth and didn't dare to speak, looking at the manager with a pleading expression.

Shen Ci spoke to Xiao Liu first: "I know you're anxious, but don't be. Whoever provides me with service gets to earn my money. I think that's very reasonable."

As she said this, she looked at the manager with a faint smile and continued: "This salesperson's attitude was perfunctory. While serving me, he left me alone in the sales hall to go serve his 'potential client.' If this intern hadn't taken the initiative to assist me, I likely would have just walked away."

"As a manager, I believe you should have a fair and just reward and punishment system. He is an adult and should bear the consequences of his own negligence."

The manager nodded upon hearing this. It was a reasonable request for a client to complain about unfair treatment to one's face, especially from a major client who had just bought two villas.

Even though the owner had given the sales agency rights to Xiao Liu, as an employee of the sales department, Xiao Liu still had to prioritize the department and the company.

"Alright, Ms. Shen, rest assured. We have no objections to your request. The performance for both houses will be credited to her."

The manager turned to the intern girl and said with satisfaction, "You did well. You can become a full-time employee starting today. Go to the personnel office this afternoon to handle the paperwork."

"Thank you, Manager. Thank you, Ms. Shen." The intern was so excited she was on the verge of tears, bowing to Shen Ci with a look of gratitude.

Only then did Shen Ci sign the second contract with satisfaction.

Xiao Liu was on the verge of tears; the commission that was within his grasp had just vanished, and he felt a sharp pang of regret.

Upon leaving the sales center, her counselor happened to send her a message.

"Shen Ci, the teacher at the logistics office said that room 336 in the West District female dormitory building C is currently vacant. I've applied for it for you; you can move in today."

"Thank you, Counselor Li."

"You're welcome. If you have any difficulties at school, remember to tell me in time. Try to get along with your new roommates and be accommodating and understanding of each other."

It was clear that between the lines, Counselor Li was still worried that Shen Ci might be bullied by her roommates.

Back at the hotel, because she had gone shopping with her sister and bought many things, she needed an extra bag for items that would have originally fit in one suitcase.

Fortunately, she had bought a large-capacity travel bag while browsing at LV.

Placing the bag on her suitcase, Shen Ci dragged it toward the West District female dormitory, passing by the West District basketball court on the way.

"Look, it's Shen Ci!"

"She's so beautiful, her skin is glowing!"

"Qu Yang, I heard Shen Ci broke up with Li Xiao. Is that true or false?"

The boys playing basketball on the court couldn't help but stop their movements when they saw Shen Ci, staring straight at her. Someone stepped up to grab Qu Yang's shoulder to ask about the gossip they had just heard.

Qu Yang was also looking at Shen Ci, but he wasn't the type to gossip about others. Hearing this, he only said, "I don't know."

One of the boys grinned: "Do you think I'd have a chance if I pursued her?"

This remark immediately drew mockery from his companions.

Qu Yang even glanced at the boy and deliberately threw the basketball at his head: "Keep playing!"

The basketball hit the boy's head, causing him to cry out in pain. Seeing that Shen Ci had walked far away, they withdrew their gazes and continued playing.

Only Qu Yang's gaze lingered intentionally or unintentionally on Shen Ci's retreating figure, his eyes flickering with an unreadable expression.

In dormitory 336, Shen Ci pushed the door open and found it was indeed an empty room. The four beds were just bare wooden planks, and there was no one inside.

The floor was very dirty, and the desks and chairs under the beds were also filthy; it was clear that no one had cleaned it when it was vacated.

Shen Ci chose the spot on the left near the balcony, her usual preferred spot. However, being the only one in a four-person room, she felt an inexplicable sense of desolation.

Just then, the dormitory door was pushed open again, and a girl with exquisite makeup and a slim, tall figure appeared at the door.

She frowned upon seeing the state of the dormitory, subconsciously raising her hand to fan away the dust in front of her.

Looking up, she was clearly surprised to see Shen Ci standing in the room: "Eh? Wasn't it supposed to be an empty dormitory?"

"I just arrived too," Shen Ci said, taking the initiative to greet her. "Hello, my name is Shen Ci, sophomore, Department of Astronomy."

"Hello, Gu Lianxing, sophomore, Department of Bioengineering."

Gu Lianxing walked in as she spoke, and only then did Shen Ci notice a boy following behind her, helping her drag two large suitcases.
