Global Depreciation: After Traveling Back in Time, I Lead My Whole Family to Success!

Chapter 11: May I ask?

Shen Ci nodded in understanding and asked, "How much is this one?"

"This unit is 9,800, and it comes with three years of complimentary property management and landscaping services."

Because she was sitting nearby, Shen Ci had caught most of the conversation happening next to her.

The couple seemed to have their eyes on a second-hand unit. The previous owner was among the first batch of people to reserve a prime location, so the unit’s positioning and layout were exceptional, and the price was naturally exceptional as well.

The couple seemed interested in purchasing, but they were still haggling with the male salesperson over the price, attempting to get a discount.

For such an expensive house, even a small discount would save a significant amount of money.

"Mr. and Mrs. Wang, I really have tried my best regarding the price. The seller has also stated that 12,000 is the absolute lowest price; it’s impossible to go any lower."

The male salesperson looked helpless. He had thought this deal would go through today, but he hadn't expected them to still be haggling.

He was just a salesperson; if the seller said no, what could he do?

The Wangs exchanged a look, communicating through their eyes. Mrs. Wang crossed her arms, putting on the haughty air of a wealthy socialite, and said to the salesperson, "It’s not that we can’t afford the money, but at the end of the day, this is a second-hand house. Selling it at the same price as the opening price is inherently unreasonable. Xiao Liu, you’ve worked hard for a month; you don’t want this deal to fall through at this stage, do you?"

The male salesperson nodded with a forced smile.

Mrs. Wang chuckled, "Exactly. Why don't you go communicate with the other party again? We aren't asking for much—a discount of 500 is surely doable, right?"

"Mrs. Wang, 12,000 is indeed the opening price, but the properties in this villa district have been appreciating. This unit has actually increased in value compared to the opening price, so the seller has already lowered the price somewhat. It is very much in line with the current market rate."

Shen Ci curled her lip as she listened.

A discount of 500? Based on the conversion of the cost of living from her previous world, that was like cutting off five million in one go.

"How is the house they're talking about?" Shen Ci asked in a low voice.

The intern was startled by the question. She subconsciously glanced at the couple currently haggling, then lowered her voice and said, "The location is excellent. The previous owner seems to be in a rush to sell due to company funding issues. If you're interested, Ms. Shen, I can go get the documents for this unit."

Shen Ci asked, "They look like serious buyers. Can I cut in line?"

The term "cut in line" made the intern laugh. She nodded, "Of course. The only goal of our sales department is to sell the houses. Whoever signs the contract first gets it. Buying a house isn't about who came first; it's about whose money arrives first."

Shen Ci smiled too. She suddenly stood up and walked over to the male salesperson, taking the property documents from in front of him under his surprised gaze.

"Hey? What are you doing?" Mr. Wang asked, looking displeased.

Shen Ci ignored him and quickly flipped through the documents for the house. Sure enough, the location and layout were even more outstanding.

The previous one was good, but this one was clearly better.

She turned to the intern and said softly, "I want this one. Let's sign now."

The single sentence left everyone present stunned.

"Who do you think you are?" Mrs. Wang regained her composure and suddenly raised her voice. "We are still discussing it! Do you have any sense of 'first come, first served'? Do you have any manners?"

Shen Ci smiled slightly and mimicked her, "Buying a house isn't about 'first come, first served.' Whoever's money arrives first gets it."

Mrs. Wang: "..."

Mr. Wang was getting anxious. He pulled on his wife and whispered, "What do we do? Should we just buy it?"

The male salesperson also hurriedly said, "That's right, Mr. Wang. You see, this house is very popular. Don't hesitate."

When Shen Ci heard the male salesperson daring to ignore her, she sank her face and said, "Are you deaf? I’ve already decided I want this house. You still want to sell it to someone else?"

Her aura suddenly became oppressive, causing the male salesperson to stiffen. He quickly stood up to explain, "Ma'am, please listen to me. Mr. and Mrs. Wang have been considering this house for over a month. The original owner entrusted me to sell it for him, so I still feel I should prioritize Mr. and Mrs. Wang. After all, they were the ones who..."

"You feel?" Shen Ci scoffed out loud, looking at him with utter disbelief. "Who do you think you are, may I ask? I’ve noticed that you salespeople for high-end products really struggle to know your place. Do you have the authority to decide who gets to buy the house?"

"They’ve been considering it for over a month and haven't bought it, and I have to step aside for them? What kind of logic is that? If I say I want to consider all the houses you have here, does that mean you don't have to sell to anyone else?"

Seeing that Shen Ci was truly angry, the male salesperson realized this might blow up.

After all, who among those who could afford houses here wasn't wealthy or powerful?

"Ma'am, please don't be angry. What I meant was..."

"I don't care what you meant!" Shen Ci’s starry eyes sharpened, cutting him off. "I’m asking you now: I want this house. Are you refusing to sell it to me?"

The male salesperson’s attitude clearly shifted to fear as he shook his head. "Of course not."

"If not, then why are you still blathering on?" The resentment Shen Ci had been harboring erupted completely at this moment, each word sharper than the last.

The commotion soon caught the manager's attention. A woman in professional attire walked over quickly in low-heeled shoes.

Seeing that Shen Ci’s anger had not yet subsided, the manager, being observant, spoke to her first: "Ma'am, I apologize. Is there something about our service that was unsatisfactory?"

Shen Ci judged the situation, not the person. The woman in front of her hadn't provoked her and her attitude was acceptable, so she didn't vent on the innocent. She calmed her tone and said, "I want this house. Let's sign now."

The manager nodded quickly upon hearing this. She glanced at the male salesperson, then at the Wangs, seemingly having guessed most of what happened.

Her face darkened as she said to the male salesperson, "Xiao Liu, the client has decided to buy. Go get the contract immediately."

"Yes, Manager. I'll go right now." Xiao Liu hurriedly agreed, turned, and walked away quickly.

The Wangs discussed it for a long time, but eventually gave up, stood up, and left without a word.

The intern behind her saw that Shen Ci had decided to buy the house represented by the male salesperson, and her disappointment was evident. However, she just pursed her lips, took a few deep breaths, and composed herself.

Then, Shen Ci suddenly turned back to her and said, "I want that other one too. Go get the contract."
