Beast Taming from Zero
Chapter 21: Eight-Tube Coral
"Hah, I've reached my stop. I can't be bothered to argue with you people." The square-faced man finished speaking and turned to get off the bus.
A young man standing to his right was holding a plastic bag.
The square-faced man pushed the young man aside and hurried toward the rear door of the bus.
Qiao Sang noticed that his hand had brushed against the young man's shoulder, and his body hadn't touched anything else, yet the plastic bag made a rustling sound.
"Fire-Fang Dog, use sparks at his waist," Qiao Sang commanded directly.
Fire-Fang Dog was in a state of high tension, ready to snap at any moment.
It was extremely annoyed with this human; if its Beast Tamer hadn't been holding it down with a hand, it would have unleashed its entire repertoire of martial arts on him long ago.
Now that it had received an order, it gathered all its strength, concentrating its internal energy to blast it outward.
The sparks, which were usually only the size of a baby's fist, were now as large as an adult's palm.
"GAAAH!!!"
A piercing scream echoed throughout the entire bus.
The passengers on the bus were startled, and the passenger who had just stepped through the front door was so frightened they retreated back to the station platform.
"Driver, close the doors!" Qiao Sang turned and shouted to the driver.
The driver saw the scene inside through the rearview mirror and froze for a long moment.
A white hydra-like creature, over two meters long with eight tentacles, had appeared out of thin air inside the bus. As it appeared, its eight tentacles knocked a large pile of items onto the floor with a clatter.
"Driver, close the doors!" Seeing that the driver wasn't moving, Qiao Sang had to remind him again.
"Oh, right!" The driver snapped out of it and hurriedly pressed the button.
Seeing that the driver had closed the doors, Qiao Sang focused her attention on what was in front of her.
What on earth was this?
Although she had been cramming knowledge lately, a poor student was still a poor student; Qiao Sang couldn't recognize what this supernatural creature was.
Qiao Sang turned to the female student and asked, "What is this?"
"It's my phone!"
Qiao Sang: "..."
"And mine!"
"My Shasha Fruit!"
"The necklace I bought for my girlfriend is here too!"
"My height-increasing insoles!!!"
The people on the bus were excitedly claiming their belongings one by one.
The square-faced man watched everything with a dark expression.
Everything had happened too suddenly. His Eight-Tube Coral had been injured, preventing him from getting off the bus immediately. Now the doors were closed, and the stolen goods had all spilled out.
It was all this woman's fault!
The square-faced man glared venomously at the girl with the Fire-Fang Dog.
If it weren't for this Fire-Fang Dog and this woman, how could he have failed this time!
It was too late now. A bus full of people was staring at him. If he tried to escape, he would have to damage the bus, which would definitely injure the passengers.
He knew the difference between the crimes of theft and assaulting a citizen; the former might only result in a fine or a month or two in jail, while the latter could lead to anywhere from a few years to several decades.
He could only stay quiet now and wait for the police to come and arrest him.
Seeing the square-faced man's expression turn to one of despondency, Qiao Sang put away her unnamed supernatural creature, looking as if she were ready to surrender.
"Everyone, hold him down so he doesn't escape!" Qiao Sang shouted.
She swung a punch toward him, and the square-faced man instinctively took two steps back. Seeing this, everyone thought he was trying to run, and they swarmed forward to pin him to the ground.
Someone shouted, "You dare even hit people?!"
The crowd was instantly enraged. He had been caught stealing and still had the audacity to be so arrogant?
In an instant, a flurry of punches and kicks rained down on him.
"I didn't do it!" the square-faced man roared.
Unfortunately, no one listened to him. His voice was soon drowned out by the sound of blows.
Qiao Sang contributed eighteen kicks to the fray before sitting to the side, exhausted from kicking.
After an unknown amount of time, the crowd dispersed.
The man lay on the ground like a dead pig, his face bruised and swollen, with claw marks appearing out of nowhere. His square face had become as puffy as a steamed bun, making it impossible to recognize his original features.
Fire-Fang Dog squeezed out from the crowd, blinking its watery eyes at Qiao Sang.
The human and the beast shared a knowing look and both smiled.
Someone called the police, and the patrol car arrived quickly.
The three arriving officers struggled to identify the man due to his unrecognizable face, but fortunately, he was still wearing a Beast Tamer's badge on his chest.
The police scanned the badge to confirm his identity.
"Who discovered him stealing?" one of the officers asked.
"It was her!" The female student raised Qiao Sang's hand and pointed.
The surrounding passengers also nodded in agreement.
The questioning officer approached Qiao Sang and said gently, "We need you to come to the police station to give a statement."
Qiao Sang said apologetically, "My mom is waiting for me to come home for dinner."
The officer smiled. "It won't take long. This was an act of bravery. Just call your mother and let her know; she won't blame you."
Qiao Sang shook her head in refusal. "Everyone on this bus is a witness; call them. I really have to go home first."
The officer continued, "This man is named Chen Jianhui, a repeat offender. We've had a bounty out on him for a while. Since you caught him, you'll need to collect the 50,000 Alliance Coin reward."
Qiao Sang was stunned. There was such a good thing?
She immediately straightened up and said seriously, "I am more than willing to give a statement. When do we leave?"
The officer: "..."
As Qiao Sang was getting into the police car, the female student caught up to her. "My name is Bai Yunmiao. Can I add you as a friend?"
"Of course," Qiao Sang smiled, taking out her phone to add her.
...
...
By the time Qiao Sang arrived home, it was already 8:48 PM.
Fortunately, she had called halfway through to have the police explain her whereabouts to her mother, so she was met with a gentle greeting.
"You must be tired coming home so late. Come and eat quickly; I just reheated it in the pot."
Qiao Sang was already hungry; the five mutton skewers she had eaten a few hours ago hadn't been enough to fill her up. She sat at the table and began to eat heartily.
"Fire-Fang Dog must be hungry too. Here, I made a special nutritional dinner just for you," her mother said, smiling as she placed a plate of specially prepared energy food in front of the dog.
Qiao Sang felt her appetite vanish. She stopped eating and looked over with concern.
Fire-Fang Dog didn't notice Qiao Sang's gaze. It barked at the energy food and began to eat happily.
Qiao Sang breathed a sigh of relief. At least the situation she was worried about hadn't happened...
By the time she finished eating, she saw that Fire-Fang Dog had already finished its meal and was waiting for her, wagging its tail.
Qiao Sang was a bit surprised.
Was Fire-Fang Dog's appetite larger than usual?
Qiao Sang didn't think too much about it. She picked up Fire-Fang Dog, went to her room, and turned on her computer to look up the unnamed supernatural creature from the bus.
Since she didn't know its name, she could only search by its physical characteristics.
[Does anyone know what a white supernatural creature with eight tentacles that can turn invisible is?]
There were millions of supernatural creatures in the world, and many shared similar traits.
After searching for over ten minutes, Qiao Sang finally found the answer she was looking for.
