Chapter 7: Can You Be Responsible for What You Say?

Jiang Shiyan hurriedly carried it inside.

"Brother, Brother!"

Jiang Shiyan quickly brought the dog into the treatment room. Her colleagues at the pet hospital and Jiang Yiheng, who had heard her call, both rushed over.

"This dog looks heavily injured. Yanyan, where did you find it?" Jiang Yiheng scrutinized the Springer Spaniel lying on the examination table, his brow furrowed deeply.

"It came to me on its own, Brother. Please save it quickly! It's a police dog; it escaped after being stolen by bad people," Jiang Shiyan said hurriedly.

"Yanyan, how do you know it's a police dog?" her colleague Lily asked curiously.

Soon, the operating room was ready.

The Springer Spaniel, named "Xiao Jiu," was very cooperative when being carried away. Meanwhile, waiting outside the operating room, Jiang Shiyan had already begun searching for posts titled "What to do after rescuing an injured police dog."

Once Xiao Jiu woke up from the anesthesia, the little Teddy that had been crouching outside the cage stood up immediately upon seeing it wake, stomping its feet happily.

Jiang Shiyan was currently accompanying Ah Xu, but upon hearing that Xiao Jiu had woken up, she immediately came over from another room.

Seeing Jiang Shiyan, Xiao Jiu struggled to get up, but Jiang Shiyan soothed it and made it lie back down: "You're still on an IV drip. Don't move, or the needle might fall out later."

"Xiao Jiu told me," Jiang Shiyan explained calmly, glancing at the injured Xiao Jiu. "You might not believe me if I say it, but I can understand them when they speak. If we go by what's said online, I suppose I could be considered a 'Pet Communicator'?"

This was also a niche profession Jiang Shiyan had inadvertently discovered while searching for information, and she immediately decided to claim it as her own identity in the future.

It sounded somewhat mystical, but it was easier for people to accept than having a "system" inside her head.

The officers exchanged glances, clearly maintaining a skeptical attitude toward Jiang Shiyan's words.

Jiang Shiyan didn't expect them to believe her completely. Never mind the police—even her own brother, Jiang Yiheng, stood to the side with a face full of disbelief.

Xiao Jiu was not a police dog from this city, but a working dog from a certain criminal investigation brigade in G City in the neighboring province. It had lost contact with its team while chasing human traffickers because it was running too fast, and was eventually caught like a stray dog and coincidentally delivered to the hideout of these criminals.

After deliberation, they decided to leave Xiao Jiu at the pet hospital for continued treatment while waiting for its handler to arrive from out of town.

It wasn't until the following afternoon that Xiao Jiu's handler arrived, dusty and exhausted from his journey. After contacting his colleagues at the station, he came directly to the Furry Kid Pet Hospital.

Seeing his handler, Xiao Jiu barked excitedly. The handler was a burly man, one hundred and ninety centimeters tall, and upon seeing his beloved pet, he couldn't help but have red eyes, holding the dog tightly without letting go.

"Thank you, Ms. Jiang," the handler said, giving Jiang Shiyan a military salute.

Xiao Jiu also wanted to stand up and salute, but it was unsuccessful.

[Yanyan, catch the bad guys! Catch the bad guys!]

"Instructor Zhou, Xiao Jiu wants you to catch the bad guys. The bad guys have snatched many children, and some children were beaten until their limbs were broken," Jiang Shiyan said. As she spoke these words, she couldn't help but clench her fists.

Bloody and tragic images involuntarily flashed through her mind. Those human traffickers truly deserved to die!

As soon as she finished speaking, the expressions of everyone present changed.

Finally, they identified a remote little village called Wangting'ao.

As Jiang Shiyan rotated the satellite view on the map, an abandoned-looking courtyard caused Xiao Jiu to bark excitedly in an instant: "Woof! Woof! Woof!"

The police looked at Xiao Jiu's reaction and then at Jiang Shiyan, their eyes filled with disbelief.

This was simply too miraculous!

"Ms. Jiang, I have an unreasonable request..." Instructor Zhou looked at Jiang Shiyan with burning eyes. "I will apply to the bureau to conduct a secret investigation of this place. I hope you can temporarily cooperate with us during this time and provide us with useful information. Is that alright?"
