Chapter 49
Time flowed quietly like a stream, and the silence of the magic potion dormitory was shrouded in a faint aroma of medicinal herbs.
Lynn's room was like a sealed refining chamber, completely undisturbed by the clamor of the outside world.
The room was calm on the surface, but beneath that stillness, Lynn's mental domain surged like the deep ocean, filled with undercurrents.
His mental power was growing steadily, like a towering tree with deep roots and lush leaves, gradually climbing toward a higher sky.
Unfortunately, the crystal ball in his hand was merely a crude, defective product, incapable of accurately recording every step of his mental power's growth.
Had he possessed a crystal ball of higher precision, he could have clearly captured the fluctuations of his mental power
12.1, 12.2, 12.3...
The trajectory of that growth was like the first rays of dawn breaking through the morning mist—steady and bright.
As time passed, the number of magic potions Lynn brought back from the Nightshade Bunker gradually decreased, but his cultivation speed increased significantly; every session of closed-eye meditation became more efficient than the last.
Even more gratifying was an exciting phenomenon he had unexpectedly discovered during his cultivation.
The absorption rate of the magic potions had increased. The process from ingestion to full effect had noticeably shortened, allowing him to fully convert the medicinal efficacy into his own mental power in a shorter amount of time.
This meant that within the same timeframe, he could consume more potions, significantly accelerating the rate of his strength growth.
Where he once needed several hours to fully digest ten bottles of magic potions, he could now process fifteen, or even twenty, in the same amount of time.
This leap in efficiency was like having an invisible pair of wings behind him, helping him fly higher and higher on the path of cultivation.
Although Lynn's status panel provided no specific explanation, he keenly realized that all of this stemmed from his unique talent.
Heaven rewards the diligent; as long as one works hard, there will be rewards.
And who said that working hard at consuming potions wasn't hard work?
A month passed like a white horse galloping past a crevice.
On this day, the sun rose in the east. The morning sunlight spread slowly from the horizon like warm golden threads, dispelling the chill of the night and bringing life and warmth to the earth.
Lynn sat upright on the edge of his bed. The morning light spilled through the window onto his handsome face; amidst the interplay of light and shadow, his expression appeared exceptionally focused and serene.
At this moment, his mental domain was magnificent. His mental power swirled around the lush green Life Seed like a tide, radiating vigorous vitality.
If a high-precision crystal ball were to probe Lynn's mental power at this moment, it would find that his mental power had steadily broken through to 15 points, officially reaching the peak of a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.
Lynn had maintained this state for quite some time.
While the difficulty of breaking through from a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice to a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice could not be compared to a Level 3 Apprentice attempting to become a formal Wizard, it was still no easy feat.
After all, in the wizarding world, those who achieve the status of a formal Wizard are as rare as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns; most people spend their entire lives wandering in the stage of Wizard Apprentice.
And at this stage, a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice is already a peak existence!
In the mortal world, this level would be enough to strike terror into the hearts of so-called Great Knights.
If he wished, he could easily become a great noble, enjoying a life of luxury and splendor.
Even within the internal hierarchy of supernatural powers, a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice has achieved some measure of success.
Senior apprentices like Sonia and Colin, who had been with the Crucible for many years, were only Level 3 Wizard Apprentices.
Yet Lynn, by all accounts, had only been with the Crucible for nine months and had already reached this step!
One must realize that even Estri, the most dazzling genius in the Crucible in recent years, was only slightly faster in her breakthrough speed than Lynn.
After all, even Estri could not defy objective laws; even with a continuous supply of magic potions, her body still required sufficient time for digestion and absorption.
However, Lynn was different.
His ability to refine magic potions actually became more efficient as his consumption increased!
The more he drank, the harder he worked, the faster he refined, and thus his growth speed rose accordingly.
The sun rose higher, and light poured through the dormitory window into Lynn's room. Initially, it only illuminated half of his face, but as time passed, his entire countenance was bathed in the warm sunlight.
At that very moment, Lynn's mental domain suddenly surged violently like boiling water!
His mental power climbed sharply, as if an invisible torrent had smashed through the final barrier.
He felt as though a qualitative evolution had occurred deep within his mind; his mental domain expanded instantly, becoming incredibly vast.
The Life Seed was now a vibrant, dripping green, bursting with life, like a small, energetic sun illuminating the entire mental domain.
"A breakthrough! Level 3 Wizard Apprentice!"
Lynn slowly opened his eyes. His gaze was as deep as the sea, with a sharp glint of light flashing through it before vanishing.
Unlike the massive physical transformation that occurred when he promoted from a Level 1 to a Level 2 Apprentice, this breakthrough did not result in a significant improvement in physical fitness, but his mental domain had undergone a qualitative leap.
Lynn could clearly feel that his mental power had increased substantially.
He took out the defective crystal ball to observe; the data showed that his mental power had climbed from 15 points to 20 points!
Even more exciting was that the momentum of his mental power's growth had not stopped.
This was merely the initial stage of the breakthrough. In the coming days, his mental power would continue to soar until it reached the starting standard for a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice—25 points!
"There is still quite a lot of 'Secrets of the Ocean' left. I will consume them slowly to stabilize my realm."
The corners of Lynn's mouth curled up slightly, his heart full of anticipation.
He was in no hurry to end his seclusion. Instead, he calmed his mind to consume the potions while consolidating his realm, laying an even more solid foundation for the next stage of his cultivation.
However, while Lynn was focused on his secluded cultivation, another storm was brewing in the core of the Crucible.
It was a towering, majestic hall at the top of a tower, as black as ink.
The hall was solemn and grave. Four massive, pitch-black pillars extended from the foundation to the top of the tower, connecting with one another and converging at the summit into a void-like, distorted image.
Within that image, light and space seemed to be completely swallowed, appearing illusory and eerie.
The floor of the hall was covered in mysterious inscriptions that flickered with faint light, seemingly echoing the void-like image above.
In the center of the hall stood a white-haired wizard wearing glasses, his expression carrying a rare hint of restraint.
He was none other than Helen, a Level 3 Great Wizard and an authority within the Crucible.
However, at this moment, his attitude was as respectful as Lynn's was when facing him.
In the entire Crucible, there was only one person who could command such solemnity from Helen—the true master of the Crucible, that great Level 4 Morning Star Wizard!
From within the void-like image, a terrifying mental aura emerged, transforming into a massive eye.
This eye had no eyeball, only a pale white sclera, emitting a cold and ruthless pressure that seemed capable of peering through all things.
"Estri... the Great Forest of Emerald Island... has it finally appeared again..."
A low, thunderous voice drifted from the void, echoing intermittently throughout the hall, carrying an irresistible majesty.
