Chapter 36
"Boom!"
The confrontation between the Nightshade Bunker and the Forge Army was like an endless meat grinder. Along the margins of the battlefield, the corpses of apprentices fell like stalks of wheat, their numbers impossible to count.
At this moment, the negative energy factors beneath the firmament were even more concentrated than when the Forge Army first entered, resembling an oppressive mass of dark clouds.
However, just as the two armies were engaged in fierce combat, a heaven-shaking roar suddenly tore through the tranquility of the battlefield.
Immediately following, a sphere of light exploded violently. A blinding radiance bloomed instantly, and light energy factors surged in all directions at an unstoppable speed, as if attempting to swallow the entire battlefield.
Except for Lynn, all the apprentices were stunned by this sudden explosion.
But this was not the end.
Following the explosion of the first sphere, another sphere of light burst open, like a row of falling dominoes, one after another.
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
The sounds of explosions echoed continuously across the battlefield, shaking the soul like thunder.
Every explosion was accompanied by the agonizing screams of apprentices, but these cries were swallowed whole by the roaring thunder.
The dark night, originally shrouded by the firmament of the Nightshade Bunker, was now illuminated by the explosions of countless light spheres, radiating brilliance as if daylight had descended.
As the light energy factors continued to erupt, the negative energy factors and light energy factors between heaven and earth began to collide violently.
In this moment, they were as incompatible as water and fire, yet much like how the violent collision of water and fire produces steam.
The collision between the light energy factors and negative energy factors produced a terrifying effect, as if the light had turned into mist, forming a dense, swirling haze.
The rhythm of the battlefield was disrupted by these sudden explosions. Many apprentices scattered to seek cover, fearing they would be caught in the aftershocks of the light spheres.
"This stuff is hazardous!"
Amidst the sky-filling misty haze, Lynn gripped the barrier of the Heart of Flower Language tightly, feeling waves of slight energy attenuation passing through the surface of the barrier.
Although the rate of decay was extremely slow—perhaps taking ten minutes to drop by a single degree—there was no doubt that these byproducts of the exploding light and negative energy factors were dangerous to apprentices like them.
"Roar!"
Just then, a deafening dragon roar suddenly erupted from the high sky!
All the apprentices of the Forge looked up, only to see a tiny silhouette approaching at an astonishing speed through the gradually dimming firmament.
As the silhouette drew closer, it grew increasingly massive, until finally—
"Boom!"
A massive force tore through the dark firmament, cracking the void like a bolt of lightning.
The figure finally revealed itself: it was an elegant, slender Black Dragon!
The dragon's scales were as smooth as ink, shimmering with a cold luster, appearing like an eternal abyss in the darkness.
With every flap of its two massive wings, it seemed capable of covering heaven and earth. Beneath the wings, grayish-black smoke drifted like mist, instantly enveloping the entire battlefield.
And upon the back of the Black Dragon, the Lady Witch sat high, exuding an incomparably noble aura.
Her face was as exquisite and flawless as a sculpture, with a high, straight nose and thin, charming lips.
Most striking were her purple eyes, which looked like deep amethysts or noble, elegant violets, radiating a mysterious glow.
She parted her crimson lips slightly, revealing white teeth, and coldly uttered a few words
"Leave none alive. Kill them all!"
There was no mercy for those who surrendered or disarmed; the Lady Witch's command was to sweep away the entire allied force of the Nightshade Bunker and the Pain Sect!
With the appearance of the Black Dragon Witch, the official Witches of the Forge surged in like a tide, following closely behind the majestic silhouette of the Black Dragon.
At this moment, the battlefield was permeated with the aura of countless terrifying sorceries. The official Witches chanted in low voices, rapidly releasing spells from their hands, causing the pressure between heaven and earth to double instantly.
Lynn could clearly feel that if not for the protection of the Heart of Flower Language, he would likely have turned pale from this invisible pressure, just like the other apprentices.
"Is that... Lord Dre?"
Lynn's gaze sharpened as he caught sight of the official Witch closest to him; it was none other than Witch Dre, who had once led him into the Forge.
Standing beside Witch Dre was a figure with an extremely exaggerated physique.
The person was wrapped tightly from head to toe, with even the face obscured by heavy fabric, leaving only a pair of cold eyes visible.
There was no arm inside his right sleeve; instead, a black python several meters long extended from it.
The python slithered flexibly from the cuff, coiling several times around his body. Its head rested on his shoulder, its tongue flickering slightly, creating an extremely unsettling sensation.
The Forge Army poured into the battlefield like a tide, the figures of official Witches appearing in the sky, their auras powerful and oppressive.
And that Black Dragon, which intimidated the entire field, was like the descent of the Grim Reaper; as its wings spread, the entire sky was shrouded in its shadow.
The apprentices of the Nightshade Bunker were instantly cowed by this terrifying pressure. Their faces turned pale, and they lacked even the courage to look up, let alone chant incantations or launch spells in retaliation.
However, at that moment, the Nightshade Bunker naturally responded. Figures emerged one after another, each radiating a powerful aura—they were also official Witches.
Leading them were the Bunker Master of the Nightshade Bunker and the Sect Leader of the Pain Sect.
With the appearance of official Witches, the pressure borne by the Nightshade apprentices was mitigated, allowing them to stand up and face the approaching Forge Army.
"So young, yet quite ruthless..."
The Nightshade Bunker Master let out a cold laugh. His sharp gaze swept across the battlefield, having clearly seen through the Forge's scheme long ago.
Standing at a high vantage point, they could clearly see every movement of the Forge Army, allowing them to discern the plan of the student belonging to the Forge Lord.
"To the lofty Forge, mere apprentices mean nothing, no matter how many die."
The Sect Leader of the Pain Sect, a white-haired old man, spoke coldly, his voice laced with disdain and sarcasm.
However, just as the atmosphere grew increasingly tense, Lady Astre, the Witch atop the Black Dragon, finally spoke.
Her voice was as cold as ice, carrying a hint of intimidation
"There is no need for schemes. To fight for the Forge is dignity; to die for the Forge is glory. The Forge will remember them! As for you..."
Her words were filled with contempt and indifference, her gaze carrying a cruel killing intent
"I happen to need two Level 3 Witch corpses for my experiments. See if you can die obediently, and don't let my experimental materials be too broken..."
Before her words had even faded, a cold murderous intent surfaced on Astre's beautiful face.
Beneath her, the Black Dragon let out a deafening roar, like a falling meteor, charging straight toward the two Level 3 Witches with the power to tear through space!
Simultaneously, the official Witches from both sides released their respective sorceries. The sparks of combat collided violently in the air, and the massive explosions of energy shook the heavens and the earth.
