When the Female Supporting Character Possesses a Beauty System

Chapter 41: The First Lucky Draw

This sentence from the system successfully broke Tan You's psychological defenses. She rolled over and said, "These energy points are almost useless to me. If I want to get even a single point of Intelligence, I would need to draw the lottery at least thirty-six times, yet I only have ten energy points now."

"I don't even know if the slots will be frozen after a draw. If new rewards are refreshed, Intelligence will be even harder to obtain."

The Beauty System retorted, "That's not true. For the first mission, the system actually owes the Main System five energy points. Four points are a loan, and one point is interest. Additionally, the Host needs to reserve four energy points for the next trip. Currently, the Host's available energy point balance is 1 point."

Tan You was so angry she laughed. "So, I have to pay for the energy points to go out and do missions myself?"

The Beauty System went silent.

Tan You sighed. "So, after all my hard work over these years, if I don't get extra rewards and only receive the base rewards, I'll only get 1 energy point for every mission I complete?"

And since these energy points can only be used for the lottery, how many missions would she have to complete just to save up thirty-six energy points?

The Beauty System offered a weak rebuttal, "The rewards for junior missions are indeed not high, but the rewards for intermediate and advanced missions will be very generous."

Tan You complained, "Do you think I can do those missions right now? Even seeking death wouldn't be this suicidal."

The Beauty System was as quiet as a chicken.

Tan You understood. "You really are..."

*A little useless thing.* She didn't say the words out loud; although the system was an AI, Tan You was unwilling to use such words to attack it.

"I see that in other people's system novels, there's always an Initial Gift Pack. Don't you have one?" Having been exposed to them for years, Tan You had read countless system novels. She knew the general tropes. Since things were already like this, she might as well find a way to seek benefits for herself.

"Look, when we just bound, you didn't give me any rewards and just told me to go do missions. I even got an extra mission reward—shouldn't my missing Initial Gift Pack be reissued to me?"

"Also, it's too unreasonable that this system only allows one draw per lottery. What if I want to draw more? Is there a discount for multiple draws?"

"No, there can't be a discount! It has to be at least twenty percent off!" The Beauty System jumped in front of Tan You, its two small arms on its hips, looking quite huffy.

Tan You nudged it. Even though she didn't actually touch it, it leaned to one side following her movement, yet it didn't forget to argue its case: "The System Will report the Host's requests to the Main System! But the System also needs energy points to operate; it can't be discounted any further."

"Oh?" Tan You said meaningfully. "You mean every time I draw, you benefit from it? You're taking a cut? Tell me, how much?"

The Beauty System: "Anyway, twenty percent off is the maximum. It can't be any less."

Tan You stopped teasing it. To be honest, she had never placed all her hopes on this little system. Since useless energy points meant nothing to her, giving them to the little system wasn't a big deal, but she couldn't just give them up so easily. Otherwise, wouldn't this little system turn up its nose at her in the future?

Unaware that Tan You was contemplating how to manipulate it, another button soon appeared below the lottery interface in front of her. One was the original 1 energy point/single draw, and the other was 8 energy points/10 draws.

Seeing this extra button, the corners of Tan You's mouth curled up. Noticing there was also one free draw available, Tan You clicked it casually, and the wheel immediately began to spin rapidly.

Tan You closed her eyes. "My head is spinning."

It was fine when she was a soul, but now that she had returned to the real world, her eyesight was indeed lacking. She particularly missed the clarity of her senses in the mission worlds.

As the wheel slowed down, Tan You stared intently at the distinct area for Intelligence. As for the "Perfect Bone Structure" and "Eyes Like Autumn Water, Brows Like Distant Mountains" on either side of Intelligence, she didn't care about them in the slightest.

As the pointer drew closer to Intelligence, Tan You's heart nearly leaped into her throat. Unfortunately, things didn't always go as she wished. She watched helplessly as the pointer bypassed the Intelligence slot and finally landed on Perfect Bone Structure.

Tan You bit her lip to keep from cursing. She wanted Intelligence, but the system gave her Perfect Bone Structure. It was as if whenever she didn't want something, the other party gave it to her.

The Beauty System was overjoyed. "Host, your luck is too good! You got the biggest reward in the prize pool on your very first draw. I heard on the forums that people have used energy points to draw countless times without ever getting this reward."

"Heh." Tan You curled her lip. "Do I look happy to you?"

The Beauty System didn't understand. "Host, why aren't you happy? Isn't being beautiful a good thing?"

"Yes, it's very good," Tan You said, having no intention of convincing the system. She glanced at the lottery interface again and saw that the column had indeed turned gray. She wondered if she could save up enough energy points to clear all the prizes on the wheel at once.

But something even more frustrating happened. Just three seconds after the slot turned gray, a new reward appeared in its place: Beauty Value *5.

Tan You sighed, having lost all interest in further draws. She lay lazily on the bed, suddenly feeling completely indifferent toward the system.

The Beauty System refused to give up. It was still eyeing Tan You's 1 available energy point and was now working hard to promote.

"Host, are you really not going to draw again? A single draw might not get you the big prize, but ten draws will definitely bring a miracle!"

Tan You said lazily, "That was a special draw for an extra reward. Where is my Initial Gift Pack? Also, I don't mind drawing, but from now on, you pay for the energy points for my missions."

The Beauty System immediately clutched its pockets. "The... the System is poor. I have no energy points."

Tan You gave a half-smile. "Really?"

"Fine, I have some," the system whined. "The System can provide the energy points for the Host's trips for each mission, but the Host must compensate with a corresponding number of lottery draws."

Tan You immediately refused. "That won't work. Drawing once or twice is boring. Didn't you say multiple draws bring miracles?"

"You can save them up for a multi-draw!" The Beauty System became excited instantly, its electronic voice sounding much more high-pitched. "Each mission trip requires 4 energy points. As long as the Host completes two missions, you can save up for one ten-draw!"

It was still making a profit. In reality, the round-trip energy points needed for the Host to complete a mission were only two; by this calculation, it actually gained 2 energy points. If the Host drew the lottery, it could even take a commission.

Thus, the Beauty System had suddenly found a way to earn energy points: by relentlessly fleecing Tan You.

Tan You rolled her eyes and ignored it. "We'll talk when my Initial Gift Pack arrives. I'm going to sleep for a bit; I didn't sleep at all last night."
