When the Female Supporting Character Possesses a Beauty System

Chapter 49: Chi Mo 3

The director asked cautiously, "So, have you sorted out your emotions now? Our program is a dating show..."

"Of course," Tan You smiled slightly. "Two years is enough time to forget someone. He is ultimately just a passerby in my life; I am doing very well without him."

"I know this is a dating show, but ultimately, it all comes down to fate. I'll just treat it as a chance to make some friends."

As the interview came to an end, Tan You pulled her coat closer, preparing to leave. Just as she stood up, the director suddenly spoke: "The official recording starts the day after tomorrow. We need every guest to bring one item that belonged to your previous marriage. Momo, don't forget."

Tan You frowned. "Is it mandatory? I have already returned everything that used to belong to him. Now, aside from memories, I have nothing left that belonged to him."

The director asked, "Truly nothing?"

Tan You replied decisively, "Nothing. I am the type of person who is very decisive. Once we part ways, I hope both parties never cross paths again. Ideally, we should never appear in each other's lives for the rest of our lives."

The director said, "The production team still hopes you can bring an object from your previous relationship."

Tan You replied reluctantly, "I'll go back and look for something."

After finishing the recording of the pilot episode, Tan You left the television station. The official filming began the day after tomorrow, so she had to go back and make various preparations—such as deciding what to pack for the trip and whether to prepare some common medicines.

Tan You wasn't putting all her focus on this show; she had something more important: continuing Chi Mo's dance career. These past few days, she had been familiarizing herself with Chi Mo's basic dance skills and attempting to replicate the dances she had seen before.

Regarding the replication of those soul-stirring performances she had once witnessed, Tan You felt a long-lost sense of excitement. The prospect of letting the brilliant and magnificent art she had once experienced reappear in this world gave her a surge of exhilaration.

One day, after practicing in the dance studio until she was drenched in sweat, Tan You slumped onto the floor, panting slightly. "Dancing is truly so hard."

It was only because she had seen them before; even so, she found replicating them incredibly difficult, let alone the professional choreographers. It was clear that some things simply had to be done by professionals.

The Beauty System became much more active in this world. "Host, you are already doing very well."

"Not enough, far from enough," Tan You said, propping herself up with her hands. "You've seen those dances too. How much of a gap do you think there is between me and the original performers? If you were to give a grade, I'd barely pass."

The Beauty System fell silent, clearly knowing that Tan You's self-assessment was very accurate.

"Let's do two more sets. Anyway, the variety show filming lasts for three months; I can use this time to slowly hone my skills." Tan You stood up and returned to the center of the studio to practice again.

Halfway through her practice, the studio door was pushed open, and a slender figure walked in. The newcomer stood by the door, watching Tan You practice over and over again in the studio.

"Here, have some warm water." As Tan You sat on the floor, exhausted, a cup of warm water was handed to her.

"Teacher Wen, when did you get here?" Tan You looked up and smiled at the newcomer. "Please, sit. I can barely lift a finger right now."

"I heard you signed up for a dating show. I thought you weren't planning to continue dancing," Teacher Wen said, sitting down beside her. "But seeing you dance just now, I knew my worries were unnecessary. You are a dancer with great soul; it would be a pity not to pursue this path."

Tan You took a sip of water. "I won't give up this career. Besides, I didn't sign up for the dating show myself; my mother signed me up. If I don't go, I'll have to pay a breach of contract fee."

Teacher Wen said, "Then go and see. Is this a new dance you've choreographed? I noticed your movements are still a bit unrefined, but I can already see... it's very powerful."

Tan You nodded. "Yes, I haven't mastered it yet; it still needs polishing. I estimate that by the time I return from the dating show, this dance will be completely finished."

"I look forward to it," Teacher Wen patted Tan You on the shoulder. "Keep practicing. If you have any questions, you can come to me."

Tan You immediately felt light as a feather. She scrambled to her feet. "Teacher Wen, I have so many questions..."

As a representative of diligent learning, Tan You rarely let an opportunity to learn from an excellent person pass her by. Thus, she pulled Teacher Wen aside and asked many questions. Even though Teacher Wen looked somewhat strict, was Tan You intimidated by that?

"You... you seem much more composed than before," Teacher Wen remarked. Having spent the afternoon practicing with Tan You, she wasn't displeased at all. On the contrary, she felt the current Chi Mo was much more steady, no longer like the little girl she used to be.

Perhaps this was the price of growth.

"You overdid it today. Find a physiotherapist tonight to relax, otherwise, you'll be aching all over when you wake up tomorrow morning," Teacher Wen said, leaning against the barre with a rare smile on her face.

"I know. Thinking about leaving for the dating show tomorrow, I really don't want to go," Tan You said, lying on the floor without any concern for her image. "But the penalty fee is so high; my family can't afford it."

Teacher Wen laughed. "Then treat it as a trip. Expand your horizons; it will be beneficial to your choreography later on."

"As for the dating show," she continued with a shrug, "how many couples actually form in those shows? Isn't it all just various scripts? Even if they truly end up together, those who make it that far are few and far between."

"You truly have a keen eye," Tan You said, rolling over. "So I'm just treating it as a way to have fun. I'm not planning on finding a partner there anyway."

"When I went to film the pilot yesterday, the director even asked what kind of person I was looking for."

Seeing the smile on Tan You's face, Teacher Wen grew curious. "What did you say?"

Tan You narrowed her eyes. "It was simple. I just repeated all the requirements men have for women."

Teacher Wen mused, "Obedient, sensible, and drama-free? Virtuous and kind?"

"Mm-hmm, something like that," Tan You's smile brightened. "Sensible, drama-free, and not competing for affection."

Teacher Wen was stunned for a moment, then laughed. "Not bad. Now I'm actually interested in this show you're joining. Tell me when it airs; I'll be sure to watch every single episode."

"However, once your show airs, I expect you won't be lacking in offers for acting roles. You are truly too beautiful."

Tan You replied, "Forget the entertainment industry. A person only needs to do one thing well in their lifetime. Since I have chosen dance, I will walk this path unwaveringly."

Teacher Wen patted her shoulder. "Good. I look forward to it."

After going for a spa treatment with Teacher Wen, Tan You did not arrive at Chi Mo's small home until dusk. Chi Mo herself had a driver's license, but Tan You did not.

In Han Tingting's world, Han Tingting had taken the test herself. Tan You had never touched a steering wheel in her life, so even with Chi Mo's memories, she didn't dare drive on the road herself—it was a responsibility to both others and herself.

Speaking of which, should she find some time to go and get a driver's license?
