Transmigrating Through the Interstellar: My Wife's Glory and My Honor

Chapter 10: The Fiancé

"Thank you." Luo Bi wasn't surprised; shortly after the communication cut off, Wu Yue transferred 100,000 interstellar coins.

A night breeze blew by, carrying a chill. Luo Bi leaned back in a chair in the courtyard, staring blankly at the vast night sky. It was now May of the year 8054 of the Interstellar Era. A year was no longer twelve months, but eighteen, also divided into spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Spring was the shortest of the four seasons, lasting only two months. Summer and autumn were four months each, while winter was the longest at eight months—long and arduous.

It was early summer, and the temperature dropped slightly at night. Luo Hang called to her from the window, "It's getting late, hurry back to your room and sleep."

"I know," she replied impatiently before heading inside.

Luo Bi tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. Thinking about the day's events suddenly made her angry, and the more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She was a person who was sometimes overly shrewd, but at other times, her reaction time was quite long—in layman's terms, she was slow to react. Only now had it truly hit her.

She accepted that Hua Chen had broken off their engagement for the sake of benefits, and even his sleeping with someone else behind her back wasn't entirely incomprehensible—men were just like that, after all. At least he had proactively proposed canceling the engagement afterward instead of leaving her in the dark and disgusted. But of all people, why did it have to be Luo Yan, her uncle's daughter? Damn it, just thinking about it made her blood boil.

She spent the whole night fuming. The next day, for the first time in her life, Luo Bi didn't sleep in; she sat by the window, seething. Hua Chen hooked up with Luo Yan just because she had awakened her spiritual power and had the potential to become a stone-gambling master or an energy master. Damn it, what was so great about being a master? As if she cared.

She had awakened her own power too—not through taking potions later in life, but a natural, innate awakening. She just couldn't be bothered to mention it.

Sounds came from outside. Luo Bi looked out the window and saw a military hovercar drive in. A man in a military uniform stepped out. Luo Bi glanced at him; he was tall and handsome, a rare beauty of a man.

This must be her current marriage partner, Feng Ling.

As Luo Bi was pondering Feng Ling, Guan Zhuting’s voice rang out from outside the door: "A-Bi, come out quickly, we have a guest."

Luo Bi let out an "ah" and opened the door.

Guan Zhuting seemed a bit worried. Seeing Luo Bi dragging her feet, she reminded her, "Adjutant Feng is here, he's waiting for you downstairs!"

Downstairs, Luo Hang and Feng Ling were chatting happily. Hua Ran was enduring his discomfort to keep them company. Luo Bi hadn't yet adjusted to the sudden change in fiancés. After Hua Ran introduced them, Luo Bi sat to the side and remained silent.

When Feng Ling heard that Hua Ran needed interstellar coins to buy spiritual medicine, he asked for Hua Ran's account and transferred one million.

Hua Ran looked at Luo Bi. Luo Bi said to Feng Ling, "Thank you."

Feng Ling smiled. "No need for formalities between family."

Luo Bi was noncommittal. This "family" had changed quite quickly; before yesterday it was Hua Chen, and today it was Feng Ling.

Feng Ling didn't intend to stay long. After sitting for a while, he took his leave, leaving his communication number for Luo Bi before he departed.

After seeing Feng Ling off, Luo Hang went straight to the main residence. Luo Bi called out to Guan Zhuting, who was heading inside: "Mom, accompany me to the stone-gambling street."

"What are you going to the stone-gambling street for?" Guan Zhuting asked in surprise.

"The family needs interstellar coins. I'm going to try my luck. My luck has always been good, you know that." They were still short over a million interstellar coins, and it was uncertain whether her father and Hua Ran could borrow them, or how much they could get. Luo Bi decided to use her awakened spiritual power to earn a fortune at the stone-gambling street.
