Transmigrated as the Carefree Di Daughter
Chapter 1: Arrangements for Disposal
In the presidential suite of the Kerry Hotel in A City, a woman dressed in a light blue professional suit stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, holding a glass of red wine and gazing into the night.
She would be leaving this city tomorrow morning. She had already drawn up her will; all the shares, movable property, and real estate under her name would be donated upon her passing.
The funds would go to the Yunyi Foundation to provide medical assistance to impoverished students and those in need in poverty-stricken areas. She wondered what kind of expressions those people would have when they realized that after all their scheming, they would end up with nothing.
The reason she was staying in a hotel under her own name rather than returning home was that she didn't want to see that group of so-called relatives. She wanted to spend the final days of her life feeling free and at ease; there was nothing and no one left in that house that she cared about.
When she left this morning, she had already placed everything she needed to take with her into her spatial storage. Tomorrow morning, she would set off to follow the routes her parents had once traveled, routes she had mapped out herself, to see the scenery of those places and experience the local customs her parents had spoken of. It would be a way to fulfill a dream.
Xiao Yunyi’s father was from a rural village. He had two siblings: an older brother and a younger twin sister who was born from the same womb. Later, her father was admitted to university, left the countryside, and moved to the city.
It was at university that he met her mother. Yunyi’s mother was an only child whose family possessed countless ancestral assets, and her grandfather also ran a large company. Thus, Xiao Yunyi was showered with love from all sides.
Unfortunately, when Yunyi was thirteen, her grandfather passed away due to illness. In the pre-written division of his estate, sixty percent of the company's shares were left to Xiao Yunyi. As for his personal assets, they were all to be inherited by his granddaughter, Xiao Yunyi, effective upon her reaching adulthood.
If she were to pass away unfortunately before reaching adulthood, that portion belonging to Yunyi would serve as startup capital for the Yunyi Assistance Foundation, to be donated to those in need in impoverished families.
The remaining twenty percent of the shares went to her daughter, Yun Miao. The company was to be managed by professional managers until Xiao Yunyi reached adulthood, at which point she would take over, as she had been groomed as the successor to the Yun family since she was very young.
After her grandfather passed away and her mother had rested for a period, she made a decision, claiming that life was short and unpredictable. She wanted to go out and travel with her father to experience the vast and beautiful landscapes of the country. Just like that, these two irresponsible parents left Yunyi to live alone and went off to enjoy themselves.
In the time that followed, they would occasionally send local specialties, video call their daughter every few days, and even created an electronic travelogue for her, recording the customs, traditions, and daily trivialities of the places they visited.
Just like that, after Yunyi celebrated her fifteenth birthday, what awaited her instead was the news that her parents had died in a traffic accident on their way to Qinghai.
Yunyi was still just a child who hadn't grown up. Having just emerged from the grief of her grandfather’s passing, she received the news of her parents' accident, and she fainted on the spot.
When she woke up and saw her parents again, it was at the funeral home. At the moment she saw them, Yunyi truly thought about just going with them, to save herself the trouble of living alone. But then she remembered her grandfather’s dying instructions.
Thinking of the love her grandfather and parents had for her, she knew she couldn't just give up. On the contrary, she had to live well, living for them as well as herself.
After sending her parents off, Yunyi began a life that seemed to be one of depression. She didn't say a word outside of her studies. It was then that her father’s family moved into the house under the guise of taking care of her.
At first, they were somewhat restrained, but after half a year, presumably blinded by the luxurious life in the city and unable to let it go, they stayed on shamelessly.
They didn't know that both her grandfather and her parents had left wills stating that if Yunyi were to die unexpectedly, all assets would be transferred to the Yunyi Assistance Foundation.
They only knew that Yunyi would inherit a large fortune upon reaching adulthood, and they began to fantasize about the life they would lead once those assets belonged to them.
As Yunyi approached her eighteenth birthday, they began to feed her chronic poison. It wouldn't be fatal in the short term, but her body would slowly grow weary. Yunyi did not disappoint her grandfather.
Before she was twenty, she had completed all her studies and even exceeded the requirements. She didn't neglect her various talents either; she signed up for taekwondo and sanda classes, and even cooking classes, just to distract herself.
At twenty-one, she entered the Yun Group, and a year later, she took full control of the conglomerate. Five years later, the company's performance had doubled.
However, it was at this time that she noticed her body showing signs of gradual decline. One night, feeling unwell and going downstairs for water, she accidentally overheard her father’s relatives talking about poisoning her.
From what they said, the toxicity was now beginning to take effect and manifest, and soon they would be able to legitimately take over the company.
Following this, Yunyi had a private investigator look into her father’s relatives while she gathered solid evidence. Simultaneously, she went abroad for a medical checkup, confirming that she was indeed deeply poisoned and beyond saving, with about a year left to live.
Once Yunyi had a definite timeline, she began to prepare. She consolidated her assets, leaving the Yun Group untouched, and aside from the house she was currently living in, she sold off all other real estate.
She donated the money in several installments to nursing homes and orphanages in remote areas in the names of the Yun Group, her late grandfather, and her parents.
In the study, when she opened the safe her grandfather had left behind and took out the treasures he had bequeathed to her—things he had jokingly said were a dowry for his little treasure, Yunyi—she stroked the items carefully, her tears breaking like a dam. Why did everyone who loved her have to leave her? Even if they left her so many things, what was the point? "I miss you all so much, so much."
Just as Yunyi was heartbroken, large drops of tears fell onto a jade pendant in her hand. The jade was of excellent quality with exquisite carving; the pattern around the jade looked like bamboo, and in the center was the head of a beast she didn't recognize. Moreover, it seemed as if something was flowing inside the jade.
Suddenly, Yunyi vanished from where she stood. When she regained her senses and confirmed she wasn't dreaming, she realized that the place she was in was a paradise on earth.
Looking around the space, she saw vast fields, estimated to be about fifty or sixty mu. In the distance, there were two mountain ranges, and in between them, a fairly large waterfall.
To the right of where she stood was a two-courtyard brick-and-tile house. The water from the waterfall formed a river that flowed along the fields, passed behind the courtyard's bamboo forest, and disappeared. Yunyi pinched herself in disbelief; it hurt. It seemed it wasn't a dream.
Through a night of exploration, she roughly understood that this was a jade pendant space. The specific origin of the space was unclear, with only records left by previous owners. It was a storage space with a life source but could not be upgraded.
In other words, besides having a super-large underground storage warehouse that could keep things fresh, the space was exactly as she saw it and would not change. The only thing that could change was the ability to freely adjust and plan the types of plants grown.
The courtyard was very exquisite. On the left, a sweet osmanthus tree was in bloom. Under the tree sat a round table and stools made of white jade, and on the table was a priceless white jade teapot set with six cups.
On the right were several grapevines of different varieties, and under the grape trellis in the middle, there was another set of exquisite table, stools, and teapot. Behind the courtyard gate was a well; she checked it, and the water was clear.
The first courtyard was mainly where the previous two owners lived, with two rooms each and a main hall in the middle. One room was a bedroom, and the other was a study with a large collection of books.
In the second courtyard, excluding the side rooms on the left which were the kitchen and warehouse, and the bathroom on the right, there were five main rooms with the same structure as the front courtyard. These five rooms were filled with large quantities of gold, silver, jade, antiques, calligraphy, paintings, silk, embroidery, fine ready-to-wear clothes, shoes, and socks (for men and women, from childhood to adulthood), as well as various seeds and many items Yunyi didn't recognize—presumably collected by the previous two owners.
In the warehouse of the second courtyard, there was an entrance to an underground warehouse. Yunyi went down to check; it was indeed very large and filled with many things. Besides gold, silver, jade, antiques, and paintings, there was a vast amount of grain, medicinal herbs, fruits, various finished meat products, eggs, and many cooked foods. This was likely the surplus produce from the space, stored here where it could be kept fresh.
Since obtaining the space, Yunyi felt it was truly incredible. Was the end of the world coming? Otherwise, why would a space appear? And ever since she had the space, she had been drinking the water from the well.
Although her body hadn't fully recovered, it was much better than before. So, while handling matters after her departure, she secretly purchased a mobile villa, fully equipped with high-end appliances, furniture, and daily necessities.
She bought several sets of diesel generators, wind turbines, and even hydroelectric power equipment after seeing the waterfall in the space. She purchased a large quantity of gasoline, diesel, and even engine oil to ensure the villa could operate normally for a hundred years.
She placed the villa on a patch of grass to the right of the courtyard in the space; it had been customized to fit the size of that open space.
To save space, Yunyi specifically increased the number of floors. She had originally thought of two, but considering that other parts of the space were already planned for planting and it wouldn't be easy to build more houses, she ordered a five-story one.
After setting it up, she impulsively bought many construction tools, carpentry tools, and carving tools. Upon returning, she did the plumbing and electrical work for the villa herself. Perfect.
Under the guise of helping a friend open a large supermarket, she had people purchase a massive amount of goods (appliances, furniture, bedding, fabric, tissues, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, various pots, pans, kitchenware, seasonings, finished men's, women's, and children's clothing, shoes, books on various industries, operational videos, electronic products, ornaments, crafts, small accessories, various seeds, saplings, food, and various drinks, tobacco, and alcohol).
In short, everything a large supermarket should and shouldn't have was purchased in bulk directly from the manufacturers and stored in designated warehouses. After a period of time, the harvest was bountiful.
After handling her own affairs, she notified them to stop shipping. She picked a time to go over and collected everything into the underground warehouse, classifying them as she went. This underground warehouse was truly a treasure; not only was it infinitely large and capable of keeping things fresh, but it also automatically categorized items—a truly user-friendly design.
Some readers might ask: Knowing she didn't have long to live, why would the heroine think of storing so many things and even maintaining the villa for a hundred years?
The author's thought is: The heroine obtained the space and worried that if the end of the world were to come while she was still alive, it would be more reassuring to have more supplies prepared. Perhaps she could help more people!
