Chapter 4: Forcibly Given a Beast Husband

The Patriarch lunged forward in a single stride, asking urgently, "Clan Witch, what is going on?"

The other beastmen who were preparing to leave also paused, turning their heads to look over.

The Clan Witch ignored the Patriarch, trembling as she held the stone fragments, a terrifying brilliance erupting from her cloudy eyes.

"There are only two possibilities for the Female Stone to shatter. Either the stone's energy is exhausted..."

Her eyes remained fixed on Bai Wanwan, unblinking, as if she were looking at a rare and precious treasure.

Hu Ya had just let out half a breath of relief when she heard the Clan Witch’s voice suddenly rise: "But there is only one possibility for it to trigger a red light explosion."

Her withered, bony finger pointed tremblingly at Bai Wanwan. "She is a Holy Female protected by the Beast God!"

Dead silence.

Then, the entire Witch Cave erupted into earth-shattering clamor.

"A Holy Female?"

The Patriarch stumbled back two steps, his old face flushed deep red. "The kind that legend says only exists in super-tribes... a Holy Female?"

Amidst the sky-filling exclamations, Bai Wanwan smiled calmly.

So this is what it feels like to act cool. It’s not bad at all.

The way the Patriarch was looking at her now was exactly like a starving wolf seeing a plump, delicious lamb.

Tsk, tsk...

It’s a pity that she would never be the kind of livestock that lets others slaughter her at will.

"Impossible!"

Hu Ya’s voice was so sharp it almost pierced the silence of the Witch Cave. Her face was deathly pale, and her nails dug deep into her palms.

"Clan Witch, Bai Wanwan was tested when she was born. If she were truly a Holy Female, how could she have had low fertility back then?"

The Clan Witch glanced at her, her withered fingers stroking the shattered Female Stone. "Fertility in the cub stage is not yet stable. If everyone still has doubts, I can prepare another Female Stone in three days to verify it."

"No need," Bai Wanwan spoke up to stop her.

She raised the corners of her eyes, her gaze landing lightly on Hu Ya. "Since you are so concerned about my affairs, I will prove it to you right now, so you can understand that my fertility is simply stronger than yours."

The Clan Witch listened from the side, somewhat stunned. "How will you prove it?"

As far as she knew, only a Female Stone could test a female's fertility.

"Clan Witch, don't believe her! She just doesn't want to go to the Female Cave, so she deliberately destroyed that Female Stone."

The Clan Witch’s mouth twitched. Could a Female Stone really be destroyed at will by a female?

The other beastmen didn't believe it either. If someone had said Hu Ya was a Holy Female, they might have believed it.

But Bai Wanwan... how could she possibly be a Holy Female?

Hu Ya turned around, glaring at Bai Wanwan. "Bai Wanwan, aren't you just lying to everyone because you don't want to go to the Female Cave? But even if you tell such lies, you will still be sent there in the end."

"Who said I was lying?"

Bai Wanwan’s red lips curled into a beautiful arc as she raised a hand to stroke her flat abdomen. "I am already pregnant."

What?

The useless female is pregnant?

All the beastmen in the Witch Cave opened their mouths in shock.

Especially Hu Ya’s flat face, which looked particularly ridiculous.

The Clan Witch lunged forward, her bark-like hands reaching into Bai Wanwan’s fur skirt without a word.

Three breaths later, the Clan Witch’s cloudy eyes suddenly burst with brilliance: "Bai Wanwan is indeed carrying a cub!"

This sentence was like a thunderclap.

One had to know that even a female with superior fertility needed to mate with her beast-husbands day and night, and if she were lucky, she might conceive within half a year.

And Bai Wanwan had just come of age, and hadn't even taken a mate...

"Whose cub is in your belly?" Hu Ya shrieked, her nails almost poking the tip of Bai Wanwan’s nose.

It couldn't be Qiu Rong's. It was impossible for Qiu Rong to have mated with Bai Wanwan.

But Bai Wanwan had told her that she only liked Qiu Rong.

Bai Wanwan lazily brushed her finger away. "Does that have anything to do with you?"

She yawned. She had been tossed around too hard last night, and she no longer had the patience to deal with Hu Ya.

"If the test is done, I’m going back to sleep."

Yawning, Bai Wanwan turned and walked away, completely ignoring the group of beastmen in the Witch Cave who were too shocked to speak.

The Patriarch lunged to block her path, his old face crinkling into a chrysanthemum-like smile. "Wanwan, the cave for underage females is too crowded. The largest stone house on the back hill has already been cleaned up for you."

Upon hearing this, Hu Ya was instantly furious. The Patriarch had clearly said that stone house was hers!

"Patriarch!" She trembled with rage. "You clearly promised me..."

"Ahem!" The Patriarch used a cough to hide his embarrassment. "Your stone house is right next door."

Seeing that Hu Ya was about to lash out, he immediately straightened his face. "Tribal rules: the highest fertility enjoys the best treatment!"

Bai Wanwan watched this face-changing drama with cold eyes.

When the Patriarch obsequiously led the way, she didn't even spare him a glance.

"Wanwan, whose cub is in your belly?"

Bai Wanwan shrugged. "I don't know."

The Patriarch’s mouth twitched, but he valued Bai Wanwan’s status as a Holy Female, and he had only asked casually.

The Patriarch continued to chatter incessantly: "These stone walls are warm in winter and cool in summer. Look at how spacious this stone house is. In the future, if you give birth to a few more litters..."

"Are you done?" Bai Wanwan interrupted him. "I'm sleepy. I want to sleep."

The Patriarch’s expression stiffened, and he hurriedly signaled for people to bring in over a dozen snow-mink skins, piles of dried meat, and fresh berries.

Seeing that Bai Wanwan remained indifferent, he suddenly shouted toward the outside of the cave: "Come in! From now on, Wanwan is your female, and this place is your home!"
