The Real Heiress Has a Thousand Identities

Chapter 5: She Lost Her First Kiss

Yun Ci walked into the house on her own, sniffing the air: "Are you cooking?"

"Yeah, want to join me?"

"Let's get down to business first."

Yun Ci lay down on a long bench and slowly closed her eyes.

Gu Jingwen put down his spatula, sat opposite Yun Ci, and began the hypnosis.

Seeing Yun Ci's expression gradually relax, Gu Jingwen murmured: "You have arrived in a strange world. There is only a wooden door in front of you. Push that door open, and behind it lies your lost memory."

In the dream, Yun Ci slowly pushed the door open, and darkness rushed toward her.

Gu Jingwen stared intently at Yun Ci, fearing that something might go wrong.

But just then, Yun Ci’s face suddenly twisted in pain. Beads of cold sweat broke out on her forehead, her features contorted, and her breathing became rapid. Something was clearly wrong.

Gu Jingwen hurriedly pressed down on her shoulders and said in a deep voice: "Yun Ci, I’m going to count to three. When I reach three, you will wake up! 1... 2... 3..."

He snapped his fingers by her ear. Yun Ci’s eyes flew open, her mouth wide as she gasped for air. Her face was deathly pale, as if she had just returned from the brink of death.

"How was it?!" Gu Jingwen asked urgently. "Did you see the man's face clearly?"

Yun Ci shook her head in disappointment.

Three years ago, she had mysteriously disappeared. A year later, she was found unconscious at the entrance of the village. No one knew where she had gone or what she had done, and she had lost the memories of that year.

Ever since then, she had been plagued by a strange dream. In the dream, a man held her hand tightly, always repeating the same sentence to her.

"A-Ci... wait for me..."

She couldn't see the man's face clearly, but she knew it had to be connected to her lost memories.

Gu Jingwen comforted her: "Don't worry. We'll try again next time. Let's eat first."

After eating and staying for the rest of the afternoon, Yun Ci didn't leave the apartment until it was dark.

She walked downstairs, and just as she stepped out of the iron gate, a black shadow suddenly darted into the alley, heading straight for her.

In an instant, she was pinned against the wall. The stranger wrapped one arm around her slender waist and held the back of her head with the other, their bodies pressed tightly together without a sliver of space between them.

A husky voice sounded above her.

"Do me a favor. I'll take responsibility."

With that, he leaned down and kissed her pink lips.

Yun Ci’s eyes widened in shock, her eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings. Her brain, which was always clear-headed, went completely blank.

She only felt his thin, cold lips, and the scent of mint-flavored tobacco drifting into her nostrils.

In the darkness, the man's face was blurred, save for the tear mole beneath his eye, which shone with unusual brightness.

A flurry of noisy footsteps echoed outside the alley.

"They ran that way!"

"Hurry, chase them!"

Several bodyguards in black reached the mouth of the alley and stopped. Seeing two figures intimately kissing in the shadows, they assumed they were just a couple stealing a moment of passion.

"Forget it, stop looking and keep searching for the target!"

The bodyguards ran off again.

Yun Ci finally snapped back to reality. Killing intent surged in her eyes, and she threw a vicious punch, but the man caught her wrist.

The man pulled away from her lips, and as if savoring the lingering taste, he kissed her cheek once more.

He declared his ownership in an overbearing tone: "Marked. You are mine."

Having said that, he turned and strode away.

Yun Ci pulled a knife from her sleeve and chased out of the alley, but the man had already vanished. She slammed the knife into the wall, so angry she could kill.

To have her first kiss stolen for no reason, and to be left with such a brainless, melodramatic line.

She better not find him, or else... she would definitely tear him limb from limb!

When she returned to the Ruan residence, she happened to run into Ye Meipan.

She frowned and asked: "A-Ci, where have you been?"

A young girl, coming home in the middle of the night—what kind of behavior was that?

Yun Ci only gave a perfunctory reply: "I had some things to take care of."

With that, she walked straight upstairs.

From start to finish, she didn't even spare her a glance.

Ye Meipan felt a headache coming on.

This child was always so cold and distant, making it impossible for anyone to get close to her.
