The Real Heiress Has a Thousand Identities

Chapter 7: As expected of sister-in-law, she's got quite a temper!

Immediately, she strode to the last row, tossed her schoolbag onto the desk, pulled out the chair, and sat down in a lazy, slouching manner.

Ignoring the gazes of everyone around her, she pulled out a pair of earphones, shoved them into her ears, pulled the hood of her hoodie over her head, and buried her face in her arms on the desk, remaining completely still thereafter.

By the window, a gentle breeze blew in.

Xia Beiqing looked at the girl slumped beside him and curled his lips into an intrigued smile.

His sister-in-law was actually in the same class as him.

How interesting…

He reached out and poked Yun Ci’s arm.

Yun Ci lifted her head, only then noticing the boy sitting next to her.

His skin was porcelain white, his features exquisite. He wore a pale pink casual shirt with the collar wide open, revealing a pair of deep, defined collarbones.

His curly hair was illuminated golden by the sunlight; his eyelashes were long and thick, his eyes as bright as stars, and he wore a sparkling black diamond stud in his left ear.

At this moment, he was resting his head on his hand, smiling with his eyes curved into crescents.

Amidst his handsomeness, there was a faint hint of… sweetness?

“Hello there, classmate Yun Ci, I’m your deskmate.”

Yun Ci couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge him and buried her head back down.

Xia Beiqing didn’t mind at all and continued with a grin, “Don’t you want to know my name?”

Yun Ci didn’t make a sound.

“Are you listening to music? What are you listening to?”

Xia Beiqing suddenly pulled out her earphone and stuck it into his own ear, but he froze instantly.

There was no sound at all.

“Huh? You weren’t listening to music? Then why wear earphones?”

Yun Ci lifted her head, snatched the earphone from the boy’s hand, her eyes filled with coldness, and finally, unable to bear it any longer, she spoke: “I wear earphones because I don’t want people talking to me. It’s noisy.”

“Uh…”

Xia Beiqing blinked his sparkling eyes.

Was he… being implied to be the noise?

As expected of his sister-in-law, she had quite a temper.

He liked it!

Xia Beiqing smiled shamelessly: “Since we’re deskmates now, let’s get to know each other. What are your hobbies? Do you like playing games?”

“I don’t.”

“Ah? You don’t even play ‘W2’?” Xia Beiqing pulled out his phone and pointed to the icon on the screen: “It’s a very popular game.”

‘W2’ was the abbreviation for World War, a gunfight game that had become extremely popular in recent years. Almost everyone loved playing it, and international tournaments were held twice a year.

Xia Beiqing asked again: “Then do you know Si Yue?”

Yun Ci was half-closing her eyes, but upon hearing that name, a strange emotion flashed through her pupils, though it vanished in an instant. She replied coldly and indifferently: “I don’t know.”

“You don’t even know that?!”

Xia Beiqing was shocked at first, but then he had a second thought.

He had heard that his sister-in-law grew up in a poverty-stricken mountain area, so poor she was practically chewing on tree bark. She probably hadn’t even touched a smartphone before, so it was no wonder she didn’t know anything.

She didn’t like talking to people, probably because of low self-esteem, right?

How pitiful…

The more he thought about it, the more his heart ached, so he tried even harder to find topics of conversation.

“Si Yue is the national server god of ‘W2’, a two-time consecutive international champion. Whenever he logs into the game, it’s like thousands of people are worshipping him. Even the news has reported on him, but he never accepts any TV interviews. He’s low-key, comes and goes like a shadow, and to this day, his appearance and gender remain a mystery. But I’m different…”

Xia Beiqing shook his head, looking very proud: “I have the contact information for the great god Si Yue, and what’s more…”

He leaned mysteriously toward Yun Ci’s ear and whispered: “I am the only closed-door disciple of the great god Si Yue. You must never tell anyone; my master doesn’t let me tell others!”
