The Group's Favorite Little Fatty: I Have Four Big Shot Daddies
Chapter 10: Ye Qianning's Plan Succeeds
There was not a sound from inside the room. The Princess Consort tried to push the door open several times, but fearing she might disturb the physician, she waited outside in agony for over an hour before the door finally opened.
"Physician, how is she?" the Princess Consort asked anxiously.
"The multiple pustules on the little Princess's body have been treated. Now, as long as you gather the herbs on this prescription and apply them for a few days, the rashes will scab over," Granny Si said, her tone as steady as a veteran physician, as she handed over the crookedly written prescription.
Hearing this, the Princess Consort’s face lit up with joy: "Quick, send someone to buy the medicine."
A maid took the prescription and turned to leave quickly.
The Princess Consort walked to the bedside and gently stroked the little Princess's forehead: "Xiang'er."
The little Princess’s eyes remained tightly shut.
"Physician, what is going on?" The Princess Consort’s hand paused.
"Do not panic, Your Highness. Piercing the pustules with silver needles is extremely painful. Fearing the little Princess could not bear it, I let her sleep for a while. She will wake up in another hour or so," Granny Si said.
The Princess Consort breathed a sigh of relief and stood up: "Physician, please stay in the manor for these next few days. Once my daughter’s strange rash is completely healed, the Prince will surely reward you handsomely."
This was exactly what Ye Qianning wanted, but Granny Si grew anxious.
"Stay in the manor? That won't do..."
"Why?" The Princess Consort’s guard went up as she saw the refusal.
"Your Highness, it is not that we are unwilling, but my granddaughter and I have come to the capital to find relatives. The magistrate’s office told us to wait for news at the inn. If we stay at the Prince’s manor, our relatives won't be able to find us at the inn, and we will be separated again," Granny Si said, looking troubled.
"So that’s it. You don't need to worry about that. I will have someone go to the inn to inform them and have them come to the Prince Changyang’s manor to find you instead," the Princess Consort said, waving her hand at a maid.
The maid understood immediately: "This servant will go at once."
"But..."
"Physician, please do not decline. My daughter is suffering from this strange rash; if there are any complications when she wakes up, we will need you to look after her," the Princess Consort interrupted, cutting off Granny Si’s excuses.
With things put this way, even if Granny Si was reluctant, she had no choice but to stay at the manor.
The maid led the two to a guest room, repeatedly warning them that if the little Princess felt unwell, someone would come to fetch them, but otherwise, they should stay in their room and not wander around the manor at will.
Granny Si watched the maid walk away, her face full of worry: "They’ve basically locked us in the manor."
"They won't let us leave until the little Princess's rash is healed. Granny Si, just settle in and stay," Ye Qianning said, feeling at ease now that the plan had succeeded.
It would take at least ten days to half a month for the little Princess's rash to scab over and fall off; that should be enough time for her to develop her space.
"Fatty, is that prescription of yours actually effective, or did you just make it up?" Granny Si felt uneasy.
"Of course it’s effective."
"How do you know how to treat rashes?"
"Don't you remember? Back in the village next to ours, many children had rashes. The county magistrate sent several physicians, and they needed to go up the mountain to gather herbs. Old Man Wei and I were the ones who guided them. Once we were in the mountains, the physicians told us how to distinguish the herbs and what they were used for. I remembered it all," Ye Qianning bluffed, relying on her memory.
Granny Si recalled that it had indeed happened, and she couldn't help but praise her: "I didn't expect you to have such a good memory, girl. You scared me to death just now."
"Just enjoy the food and lodging. Our hundred taels are guaranteed," Ye Qianning laughed.
"It’s not about the money. I’m just worried about what will happen if your father comes to pick you up and can't find you," Granny Si said, not being a person blinded by greed.
"Didn't the Princess Consort just say someone would be keeping watch?"
