The Empire Starts from the Fourth Calamity

Chapter 6: An Uninvited Guest

6. Uninvited Guests

"Hyperspace communication? That means intelligent life! And they are capable of interstellar travel!" Tang Xiao felt a jolt of alarm. "Mainframe! Immediately triangulate the source of the transmission. Notify all combat personnel to rush over and seal off that area! Graham, you are in charge of command on-site!"

[Understood.]

A transport ship carrying marines lifted off, flying toward the coordinates indicated by the Mainframe.

"Administrator, you aren't feeling well. You should return to the mothership," a female resident said with concern.

"I'm fine." Tang Xiao’s expression was grave. He turned his head and said, "Let's go, T-850. First, we need to capture the people who sent that signal." As he spoke, he walked toward the landing pad, where another transport ship had just finished unloading cargo.

Following the guidance from the mothership, Tang Xiao, accompanied by the T-850 and several marines, soon arrived at a somewhat desolate hill. The transport ship that had arrived earlier had already landed. At the entrance of a hidden cave, over a dozen marines were blocking the way, occasionally firing a burst of shots inside.

These marines were equipped with Type-21 assault rifles. They looked very mechanical, though they seemed a bit out of place in this interstellar era. To put it bluntly, when everyone else is going "pew-pew-pew," you’re still going "da-da-da"—that just won't do!

"What’s the situation?" Tang Xiao asked as he walked over.

"There are three of them, but they’ve been hiding in the cave and refuse to come out. There’s also a language barrier, so it’s hard to take them alive in this situation," one marine reported.

"You go. We must take them alive," Tang Xiao said, wanting to test the T-850's capabilities.

The T-850 didn't say a word. It grabbed a large metal cargo crate from the transport ship, dropped it on the ground with a loud *clang*, and then pushed the crate forward with one hand, moving at a surprisingly fast pace.

A few unintelligible curses came from inside the cave, followed immediately by several red blaster bolts. However, these bolts were all blocked by the crate the T-850 was pushing.

Three people dressed in explorer gear were hiding behind the crate, firing continuously. They were still cursing; they were clearly desperate outlaws.

Suddenly, the T-850 stood up, lifted the metal crate—which was taller than a person—high into the air, and slammed it down!

*BOOM!!* With a deafening crash, gravel and broken cargo scattered everywhere. The impact of nearly a ton of cargo was comparable to a grenade explosion!

Seeing this, the three men immediately raised their hands and knelt down, their cursing coming to an abrupt halt. It was so clean, neat, and uniform that Tang Xiao almost thought they were speaking French.

"Bring them back to the mothership for interrogation and have the Mainframe analyze their language. Then, clear out this stronghold and see if there’s anything useful," Tang Xiao ordered, rubbing his forehead. The marines behind him immediately swarmed forward like hungry tigers to pin the three militants to the ground.

Looking inside, the cave appeared to be a secret base. It was dug very deep and the entrance was well-hidden, which explained why the initial scans hadn't detected it. It was stacked with various goods, supplies, and communication equipment.

Tang Xiao looked at the blaster pistols the three men had dropped on the ground. Recalling the feeling from just a moment ago, he raised his hand. Then, a miraculous scene occurred: one of the blaster pistols actually twitched, and as if grabbed by an invisible hand, it flew toward him. However, it flew off-course and smacked into the T-850’s forehead with a *thwack*.

Seeing this, the three men were even more terrified, their eyes darting around, not daring to meet Tang Xiao’s gaze.

As they brought them out of the cave, they encountered a group of Ewoks attracted by the gunfire. Tang Xiao pointed at the group of bipedal teddy bears and asked the three men, "Ewok?"

Even with a language barrier, the pronunciation of such proper nouns remained the same.

The three nodded frantically, fearing that if they were too slow, something terrible might happen.

Tang Xiao pointed to the ground beneath his feet. "Endor?"

The three nodded again. One of them seemed to realize what Tang Xiao was asking, so he pointed to himself and said, "Corellia!"

Then he drew an arc in the air and said, "Tatooine!"

Finally, he drew another arc and pointed to the ground. "Endor!"

So, they meant they had departed from Corellia, passed through Tatooine, and finally arrived at Endor? Tang Xiao curled his lip. Endor should probably be renamed "Dawn" now.

But they needed to return to the mothership. Since it was confirmed that this was the *Star Wars* universe and they had captured prisoners, there was no time for sightseeing. They had to confirm the current era.

Back on the mothership, the three men were thrown into the brig, and the Mainframe was tasked with language analysis. Tang Xiao sat in the command chair on the bridge, pondered for a while, and opened the list of personnel available for awakening. He really needed help now.

Opening the "Elite" tier list, he found that quite a few people could be awakened. This included several elite biologists. Their requirements were simple: a habitable planet with a complete ecosystem for research, and a basic laboratory—living conditions just slightly better than the workers would suffice.

Familiar with the process, he awakened the biologists, told them to report to the medical bay for a check-up before coming to the bridge to receive their assignments, and finally, to take their equipment and land on the planet Dawn via transport ship.

These biologists would begin studying the biological structure of Dawn to determine which human crops could be grown. If not, they would need to find suitable local crops. Additionally, they would test whether livestock like pigs, cows, and sheep could survive there, and research local fauna to see if any could be used as a food source.

There was plenty of similar work to be done, so Tang Xiao awakened an expert in management and colonial construction from the Elite tier to serve as his assistant.

Soon, a woman in her 30s walked onto the bridge and saluted Tang Xiao. "Hello, Administrator. I am Daphne Clement. Per your appointment, I will assist you in the construction of the colony. Please give me some time; once I fully understand the current progress of the colony's construction, I will immediately begin drafting further plans."

According to the database, Daphne Clement had been responsible for refugee resettlement and post-disaster reconstruction, and she was very experienced in this field. Once, when a region was hit by a super-tornado and leveled to the ground, she led her team to work tirelessly, handling everything from tent city placement and relief distribution to temporary housing construction and final town rebuilding. She had handled it all personally and achieved excellent results.

Her awakening requirements weren't high—sufficient supplies and enough manpower were all she needed. In summary, "Common" tier personnel required almost no conditions, "Elite" tier conditions were relatively easy to meet, while "Master" tier personnel required a stage where they could fully utilize their abilities.

Interstellar colonization was like crossing a river by feeling the stones. If no one knew how to build an interstellar colony, then find someone who knew how to rebuild a town; the process was similar, and that was Daphne Clement.

"Very well, thank you for your hard work. Please begin," Tang Xiao replied with a smile. "I will grant you the authority to awaken Common-tier residents. You don't need my approval for awakening groups of under 100 people. You are our first Chief Administrator."

"Yes!" Clement bowed to Tang Xiao with a smile and said, "I have some people on my personal team; I hope they can also be awakened to assist us."

Tang Xiao waved his hand. "I said, you don't need my approval for groups under 100. Also, the five administrative staff already working here will be placed under your command. Form an Administrative Department with you at the head."

"Understood."

After Daphne Clement began her work, Tang Xiao sat back down and had the Mainframe open an editable interface, on which he drew a vertical line. He wrote several terms along the line from top to bottom.

At the very top, he wrote "Galactic Republic and Sith Empire in opposition." A long section in the middle was marked "Galactic Republic dominates the galaxy."

Further down, he wrote "Galactic Republic splits, Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems in opposition," which Tang Xiao labeled as the "First Galactic Civil War."

Below that, he crossed out both the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy, replacing them with "Galactic Empire dominates the galaxy."

Finally, he wrote "Galactic Empire splits, Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance in opposition," which he labeled as the "Second Galactic Civil War." He drew a sphere there labeled "Endor"—the current planet Dawn—and drew an 'X' over it, noting it as one of the main battlefields.

This was the timeline of the main events in the *Star Wars* universe. Tang Xiao then drew a big question mark next to it. Since there were no signs of war near the planet Dawn, it meant the current time was before the Second Galactic Civil War. But even so, that still covered a very long period.

Tang Xiao took a deep breath and looked at the interface with a grave expression. Now, which era are we in?
