Space Little Fisher Girl: Getting Rich by Foraging and Fishing by the Sea

Chapter 12: Clams, Octopus

Chapter 12: Clams, Octopus

The two quickly arrived at a spot on the beach, and Song Chuman began digging in the sand with a small shovel.

However, Song Chuman was only six years old and hadn't eaten lunch, so her strength was far too limited; after just a couple of digs, she ran out of energy.

If only she were an adult right now.

The system manual stated that the system would proactively display an option when the plot could be altered.

Suddenly, subtitles appeared before her eyes again.

Song Chuman was delighted; it really was possible to change things now.

It seemed that the system would likely appear proactively whenever she encountered danger or had a need.

[Song Chuman and Song Chuanhuai went to the beach to forage for seafood together, but since they are both only six years old and hadn't eaten lunch—and had a history of poor nutrition—their bodies are weak and their strength is far too small. Nevertheless, they are digging with all their might, hoping to lighten the family's burden...]

Song Chuman glanced at her younger brother.

*Little brother, let your big sister give you a hand.*

*In the future, we will protect our family together, strike it rich, and you can become your sister's most loyal guardian.*

Without hesitation, she changed the word "small" in "far too small" to "great."

In an instant, Song Chuman felt her entire body surge with strength. With a single scoop of the shovel, the five clams hidden beneath were instantly unearthed.

Song Chuman stared blankly at her hands; just a moment ago, it had felt like she was digging through cotton.

Song Chuanhuai didn't notice his sister's expression. Although he felt something was slightly off with his body, he didn't think much of it.

Seeing the clams, Song Chuanhuai immediately picked them up one by one and placed them in the bucket, saying with a beaming smile, "Sister, you're amazing! You found so many in just one scoop."

Snapping back to her senses, Song Chuman moved to a second white spot and pointed to a location. "Ah Huai, you dig here."

"Okay," Song Chuanhuai nodded and quickly shoveled down.

With a single scoop, he also found five clams.

Song Chuanhuai's eyes widened as he looked at his hands. "I actually got them in one go? Why do I feel like my strength has increased?"

Song Chuman was satisfied. "Don't overthink it. Let's hurry and find more seafood. The more we find, the better our meal will be tonight."

Since Song Chuanhuai was truly only six years old, hearing that they could eat well tonight stopped his questioning. "Mhm, I'll listen to you, Sister."

Soon, Song Chuman and her brother worked together, and the wooden bucket was quickly filled with clams.

Just when Song Chuman thought the white spots only contained clams, they actually dug up an octopus.

The octopus gripped Song Chuanhuai's hand tightly, and he cried out excitedly, "Sister, an octopus! This is much better than clams; it's all meat!"

Song Chuman smiled as she pried the octopus off her brother's hand. "Mhm, we can have a real feast tonight."

Thinking about how he could eat his fill of seafood today, Song Chuanhuai was full of energy.

He went wherever his sister directed, and in a short while, the bucket was filled with dozens of octopuses.

As the siblings continuously filled the bucket with seafood, they soon attracted a lot of attention.

However, because Song Chuman had been branded a "jinx" by Li Cuicui, some of the other foragers didn't dare approach to see what was going on, even though they saw the siblings finding quite a lot.

Furthermore, with so many people in the village, foraging was a race against time; many people merely glanced at them before continuing their own search.

By the time the last white spot was excavated, her bucket was full.

Her mental strength was still at the beginner stage, and she wasn't sure if she had used too much today, but she felt a bit dizzy.
