She raised the villain wrong.

Chapter 13: Arrogant and Overbearing

Ying Zhao walked very quickly.

Now that she had donned the mantle of a Great Shaman, she naturally no longer had to be as cautious and tentative as before, constantly maintaining the appearance of a farm boy to avoid standing out.

She moved with extreme speed, her sleeves fluttering and her hem billowing, truly appearing like an immortal. Passersby along the way watched in amazement, but upon recognizing her attire, they quickly lowered their eyes, not daring to look directly at her.

Although most shamans and diviners in this world were a bunch of frauds, their actual performance was quite good, and they knew how to protect one another, never exposing their peers.

As a result, over many years, most people believed that shamans possessed spiritual powers and many formidable abilities, capable of killing invisibly, and thus dared not offend them lightly.

Ying Zhao's decision to impersonate a Great Shaman this time was precisely because this identity was incredibly useful.

As long as she wasn't exposed, no one in this county town would dare to treat her with anything less than respect.

She wasn't afraid of being exposed, either.

With the Tianbao Mall at her disposal, she could perform "teleportation" of objects at any time, and she could even produce numerous medicinal pills, not to mention her light-as-a-swallow movement and her Flying Immortal Sword Technique.

Who would dare call her a fake?

They were all frauds anyway; what did it matter who was fooling whom?

Ying Zhao arrived at the Shamanic Medical Hall with righteous confidence.

Even from a distance, she could hear that familiar wailing—it was that couple. Judging by the sound, their son was likely already beyond saving.

With a thought, Ying Zhao walked over, passing by their side without stopping.

The couple, kneeling on the ground in desperate wails, suddenly caught a scent of fragrant wind. They felt their clouded minds suddenly clear, and they were struck with shock. Then, the couple raised their heads in unison, seeing only Ying Zhao's fluttering sleeves.

They were stunned for a moment, then watched as Ying Zhao walked toward the Shamanic Medical Hall.

Immediately after, they heard whispers rising from the surroundings—

"Who is that?"

"White clothes and red accents, looks like a shaman."

"Is it a shaman from the city? Why does he look so unfamiliar?"

"Probably not! One look at those clothes and you can tell they aren't ordinary; I've never seen anything like them."

"It looked like he just flew over!"

"He must be a powerful shaman."

"But why would he come to our county town?"

Hearing this, the woman suddenly raised her head, staring fixedly at Ying Zhao's retreating figure, and stumbled forward in a rush.

The two guards blocking them were also so shocked by Ying Zhao's appearance that they forgot to continue their restraint, allowing the woman to rush behind Ying Zhao.

However, the guards quickly reacted, rushing forward to grab the woman, not daring to let her offend Ying Zhao.

"Ah!" The woman let out a miserable cry and suddenly screamed, "Immortal Master! I beg the Immortal Master to save my son! Waaaah—"

As soon as she finished her sentence, her mouth was firmly covered by a guard, who refused to let her say more.

Ying Zhao turned her head, her tone cold and aloof: "Who are you?"

At that moment, the shamanic medical apprentices inside the hall filed out excitedly and bowed to Ying Zhao. One of them asked politely, "May I ask which shaman you are, Excellency?"

His attitude was very cautious, even bordering on respectful.

Clearly, he did not dare treat Ying Zhao as a mere medical apprentice.

Ying Zhao remained aloof: "I am merely traveling. You may know this, but do not ask further."

Her tone carried a condescending arrogance that made the apprentices even more hesitant to be negligent.

Soon, the man asked again, "Does your Excellency require our assistance for this visit?"

Ying Zhao responded indifferently, "I require some medicinal herbs. While passing through here, I performed a divination, and it so happened that the items I need are located here."

Upon hearing this, the crowd immediately felt a sense of solemn respect!

They all knew that divination was a skill of shamans, but the level of this skill varied from person to person.

That this mysterious shaman could divine that the required items were right here in the Shamanic Medical Hall suggested that his divinatory abilities must be quite high.

Thinking this way, many people felt the urge to ask Ying Zhao to perform a divination for them. However, considering Ying Zhao's distant coldness and her high-and-mighty dominance, they could only secretly suppress their desires, not daring to speak up.

Meanwhile, the woman was still struggling.

Ying Zhao asked, "Since they have arrived, why not save him?"

The faces of several medical apprentices instantly turned quite unpleasant.

Some couldn't help but grumble inwardly: *Easier said than done. Saving a person isn't that simple. That man is too heavily injured; unless it's a celestial pill, he is beyond medical help.*

They were all thinking much the same thing, but since they couldn't gauge Ying Zhao's current intentions, they naturally did not dare to say it aloud.

It was the previous man who spoke: "Your Excellency may not know, but it is not that we are unwilling to save him. It is simply that his injuries are too severe; even a god would find it difficult to save him."

"Is that so?" Ying Zhao let out a sneer and quickly said, "As it happens, I recently obtained a certain medicine whose effects are unknown, and I am lacking someone to test it. In that case, use him to test it."

She spoke with such indifference, as if she did not care for the man's life at all, treating him like nothing more than an ant.

The onlookers, however, did not find anything wrong with this; instead, they all felt it was only natural.

Soon, Ying Zhao spoke again: "I wish to borrow a room in your Shamanic Medical Hall. Carry him over here."

The medical apprentices looked at each other. After a moment of hesitation, none dared to refuse. Instead, they personally led the way, inviting her inside.

"This way, Excellency."

At the same time, a minor manager of the Shamanic Medical Hall walked quickly to the couple and said condescendingly, "You have had great luck today. The Great Shaman is willing to use your son to test medicine. If his luck is good, perhaps he might survive."

After speaking, he gave a look of disdain toward the young man lying on the ground. Seeing the deathly gray pallor already covering the man's face, he did not believe he could truly be lucky enough to live.

The desperate couple, however, felt as if they had grasped a life-saving straw from those words, and hope suddenly surged in their hearts.

Soon, the young man on the ground was carried into the Shamanic Medical Hall.

The couple nervously tried to follow, but before they could reach the door, they were blocked by the guards.

The guards threatened them harshly, "Wait here! Do not approach! Otherwise, if you anger the Great Shaman, he will surely throw your son out!"

The couple was startled, fearing they would lose this chance, and could only stand obediently outside waiting.

Inside the Shamanic Medical Hall, Ying Zhao stood in a clean room. Seeing the guards place the young man on the floor and the medical apprentices watching curiously, she began to drive them out: "Get out. No one is allowed to peer in."

The group felt a chill and quickly retreated.

They even took the initiative to pull the door shut for her.

Ying Zhao immediately asked Tianbao: [Tianbao, can you seal this room so that no one can enter to disturb me?]

[I can, but it will consume one hundred Merit Points per hour.]

[Fine, just deduct them.]

As soon as Ying Zhao finished speaking, she saw a transparent barrier instantly envelop the entire room.

Immediately after, she heard Tianbao say: [Alright, the room is sealed. But, Master, do you really intend to save this person?]
