Chapter 12: Reveal

The other three naturally heard the conversation between the two. Liu Xiaqiu, with a sobbing tone, said angrily, "If it weren't for Grandpa and Grandma forcing Dad to work at the reservoir construction site, how could this have happened? Now that something has gone wrong, they’re actually washing their hands of it?"

Father Liu was equally disappointed, but what could he do?

Liu Chuxue couldn't stand the atmosphere, so she left the ward and walked toward the doctor's office. She found the doctor, carefully inquired about Father Liu's condition, and then returned to the ward.

She knew that she and the eldest branch of the family could never get along, so it would be better to plan ahead while they had the chance.

Mother Liu naturally wanted to separate, but she had never dared to say it out loud: "Xue, your grandpa and grandma won't agree to it."

"I'm just asking if you are willing to separate the family?"

Father Liu's lips moved a few times, but in the end, no sound came out.

As for Liu Xiaqiu and Qiu Shaofeng, they were frightened by her idea. After all, people in the village believed that as long as the parents were alive, the family should not be divided.

Hearing this, Mother Liu felt a warmth in her heart and looked at her husband on the bed.

Father Liu knew that since his parents had already spoken, there was likely no room for further discussion.

Before he could respond, he heard Liu Chuxue say, "That works too. Brother-in-law, you stay. My sister and I will accompany Mom back to the village."

Father Liu looked at his leg, thought of his wife and daughters, and gathered his courage: "Fine. Then I'll talk to Mom and Dad properly again. I'll tell the family that the money for the treatment is a loan from me. Once my leg is better, I'll find a way to earn money and pay it back to the family fund."

After they reached an agreement, the mother and two daughters left the clinic.

There weren't many people walking on the road at this time, so Liu Chuxue pulled the two of them to the nearby riverbank, where it was open and rarely visited by others: "Mom, Sister, there is something I need to tell you."

She didn't want to fight this battle alone; it was better to let her family in on some things.
