Reincarnation Paradise: The Dreamweaver of Connections

Chapter 3: Rei Miyamoto

The sunlight slanted across the gates of Fujimi Academy, the ancient stone bricks gleaming under the golden radiance as if whispering of the academy’s long history and academic solemnity.

Lin Yi stood at the school gate, took a deep breath, straightened his clothes, and walked toward the entrance.

"Hello," Lin Yi greeted the security guard politely. "I am an exchange student from Huaxia. These are my documents."

The guard was a burly, stern-faced middle-aged man. He took the documents Lin Yi handed over and began to inspect them carefully.

When he saw the principal’s handwritten signature on the papers, a trace of a smile finally appeared on his stern face.

The guard leaned out of his booth and pointed toward a teaching building ahead. "Your homeroom teacher is in Room 304 of that building. Just go directly to her to report."

Lin Yi looked in the direction the guard pointed and saw a three-story teaching building standing not far away.

He nodded, thanked the guard, and turned to walk toward the building.

The setting sun’s rays were like golden ribbons, gently spilling onto the academy’s bluestone path and casting mottled, warm shadows.

As far as the eye could see, there were groups of vibrant, energetic students.

They gathered in threes and fours, walking arm-in-arm under the shade of the trees, whispering to one another.

Their faces were filled with the aura of youth; that carefree, hopeful smile seemed to tell the world that it belonged to them.

Amidst this seemingly joyful and peaceful atmosphere, Lin Yi felt a deep sense of unease in his heart.

He knew well that the outbreak of the "Dead" virus was imminent. This virus was highly contagious and lethal; once it broke out, the consequences would be unimaginable.

This warm and harmonious scene before him was, in the end, nothing more than a temporary bubble.

Just as Lin Yi was lost in his thoughts, he inadvertently looked up and his gaze unexpectedly caught a familiar figure ahead.

That figure was slender and elegant, like a standing lotus flower, appearing particularly eye-catching in the crowd.

It was one of the main cast members of this school—Rei Miyamoto.

Her golden hair shimmered in the sunlight like a brilliant ray of light, making it impossible to look away.

Lin Yi’s heart stirred, and he stepped toward Rei Miyamoto.

He adjusted his expression and greeted her with a gentle, sincere smile: "Hello, classmate. I am a new exchange student at this school, my name is Lin Yi. May I ask which office the homeroom teacher for Class 3-2 is in?"

Rei Miyamoto had been chatting happily with her companions, but upon hearing Lin Yi’s voice, she turned her head involuntarily.

The new student before her left a good first impression; he looked clean and sharp, exuding a fresh aura.

Rei Miyamoto praised him inwardly, while subconsciously smoothing her skirt to ensure her appearance remained neat and elegant.

She responded to Lin Yi’s inquiry with a warm and friendly attitude: "The homeroom teacher's office is on the far right of the third floor. It’s very easy to find."

After saying this, she pointed toward the stairwell. "If you aren't familiar with the place, I can take you there."

Lin Yi was secretly pleased; Rei Miyamoto’s enthusiastic help made his plan proceed even more smoothly.

Lin Yi kept a proper distance, silently following behind Rei Miyamoto while secretly observing her every move.

Rei Miyamoto seemed completely unaware of Lin Yi’s abnormality. With her usual enthusiasm, she introduced the school’s various facilities, courses, and activities to him in detail.

Her voice was like a clear spring in a mountain stream—crisp and pleasant—lingering in Lin Yi’s ears like a moving piece of music.

On the surface, Lin Yi listened calmly, occasionally nodding or smiling in response, but in reality, he was busily planning his next move.

As they stepped onto the stairs and began to head to the third floor, Lin Yi quietly activated his detection function.

This was a special ability provided to him by Reincarnation Paradise, capable of detecting a target's attributes; it could be considered a unique perk for him in this world.

As the detection function activated, a subtle light flashed across Lin Yi’s eyes, and he began to focus on analyzing Rei Miyamoto’s various attributes.

Soon, Rei Miyamoto’s attribute information appeared in his mind.

After detecting Rei Miyamoto’s attributes, the numbers before Lin Yi made him chuckle silently.

He had originally thought that as the heroine of an anime world, Rei Miyamoto’s attributes would be decent, but surely not comparable to him, a martial artist who had trained for many years.

However, the data before him clearly told him that her attribute values were actually on par with his own, which truly exceeded his expectations.

They continued forward, successfully passing through the bustling crowd of students, and finally arrived at the office of the homeroom teacher for Class 3-2.

The writing on the doorplate was clearly visible, indicating they had reached their destination.

At the office door, Rei Miyamoto knocked gently. After a response came from inside, she pushed the door open and led Lin Yi in.

"Miyamoto-san, is there something you need?" The homeroom teacher for Class 3-2, Benizawa-sensei, was a middle-aged female teacher. She was kind and approachable, always wearing a warm smile on her face. At that moment, she was sitting at her desk. There was also a beautiful woman in the office, the school nurse Shizuka Marikawa, who was chatting happily with Benizawa-sensei.

Lin Yi stepped forward, politely greeted the two teachers, and handed over his enrollment documents. "Hello, teachers. I am the new exchange student, Lin Yi. These are my enrollment documents."

Benizawa-sensei took the documents and reviewed them carefully, then nodded with satisfaction and welcomed Lin Yi: "Lin-kun, I am very happy that you have become a member of our class. We will do our best to provide you with a good learning environment, and I hope you have a pleasant time studying here."

Then, Benizawa-sensei turned to Rei Miyamoto and said, "Rei Miyamoto, why don't you take Lin-kun around the campus so he can get familiar with the school's environment and facilities as soon as possible."

Rei Miyamoto readily agreed and left the office with Lin Yi.

Along the way, she enthusiastically introduced every corner of the school to Lin Yi and detailed the school’s various rules and regulations.

"Is Lin-kun from Huaxia?"

After leaving the office, Rei Miyamoto chatted with Lin Yi while showing him around the campus. In the afternoon in Japan, there was dedicated time for club activities, and students could be seen exercising everywhere in the school, which made Lin Yi feel a bit unaccustomed.

"Yes, due to my family's work, I transferred here to study."

The two chatted very congenially and soon became friends.

When Rei Miyamoto learned that Lin Yi was also a martial arts enthusiast, she was even more excited.

She suddenly signaled to Lin Yi mysteriously to follow her, saying she wanted to take him to a good place.

She whispered, "But you have to remember, don't you dare tell the teacher, or I won't play with you anymore."
