Chapter 51: The Plot Goes Out of Control

After listening to Old Wolf's narration, Lin Yi finally understood the whole story.

Old Wolf and his group had recently been busy completing Demon Slayer Corps missions to increase their rank and finish the main quest (2).

The mission location recently distributed happened to be Taigu County.

Upon arriving in Taigu County, Old Wolf's group began searching for their mission target as per custom.

They traversed the streets and alleys of the town, carefully searching for traces of demons.

Just as Old Wolf's group found a trace of an evil demon and prepared to submit the mission, three demons appeared out of thin air above their heads.

Under the bright moonlight, Old Wolf clearly saw the numbers inscribed in the eyes of these three demons—Lower Moon Two, Lower Moon Three, and Lower Moon Six.

These three numbers struck him like a bolt from the blue. Without a word, Old Wolf turned and fled.

A single Nurarihyon had nearly wiped them all out; facing these three monster-level entities, Old Wolf's group had almost no chance of winning.

They had no choice but to run for their lives.

The situation was critical to the extreme. At the crucial moment, Old Wolf decisively threw a flashbang.

The blinding light erupted instantly, catching the three demons off guard and providing an opportunity for the other members of the team to escape.

Taking this chance, they each utilized their respective strengths, exerting all their might to try and escape the pursuit of the Twelve Kizuki.

However, Old Wolf was not so lucky.

He was targeted by the strongest among them, Lower Moon Two, Rokuro, and became his prey.

During the flight, Old Wolf exhausted all his resources, using every trump card he had in an attempt to shake off Rokuro's pursuit.

Unfortunately, these methods only served to temporarily hinder Rokuro; they could not completely break free from his hunt.

After Old Wolf had exhausted all his items, Rokuro grabbed him by the throat.

This strike damaged his vocal cords, leaving his voice raspy and nearly impossible to use.

The three demons acted as if they were playing with their prey, treating Old Wolf's group like cats playing with mice—cruel and heartless.

They did not seem in a hurry to kill Old Wolf and his companions; instead, they seemed to enjoy the pleasure of the chase and the hunt.

Just when Old Wolf thought he was about to die at Rokuro's hands, Tamayo and Yushiro arrived just in time.

They rescued Old Wolf and Ghost from Rokuro's grasp, securing a slim lifeline for them.

If Tamayo had arrived even a few minutes later, Old Wolf's group might truly have been wiped out.

After arriving at Tamayo's clinic, Old Wolf finally had a moment to catch his breath.

He pulled out a talisman and sent a Kasugai Crow to notify Lin Yi, which led to the situation where Lin Yi and Shinobu Kocho arrived.

Lin Yi's brow was furrowed. He had some knowledge of the *Demon Slayer* plot, but the current situation had clearly deviated from the normal development trajectory of the derivative world.

"Strange. I remember in the original story, Tanjiro killed Lower Moon Five, Rui, and then Muzan Kibutsuji flew into a rage and gathered the Lower Moons together to purge them," Lin Yi muttered to himself. "But the plot hasn't reached that stage yet, and yet Lower Moon Two, Three, and Six have already appeared."

He realized that the plot of this world seemed to have begun developing in an unknown direction.

The original plotlines had been broken, and new variables had followed.

For Lin Yi, this was undoubtedly a massive test.

"I'm not sure, but regardless, Doctor, you must be careful."

At this point, Old Wolf couldn't help but cough twice.

His vocal cords were severely damaged; he couldn't speak too much at once, otherwise, his throat would feel extremely uncomfortable.

"Alright, stay here and recover in peace. Don't worry about the main quest for now. I'll go talk to Kagaya Ubuyashiki when I return. As long as the contribution points aren't too far off, there shouldn't be any major issues."

Lin Yi was not a heartless person. He saw and remembered the efforts made by Old Wolf's group.

Since Old Wolf and the others remembered their mission, Lin Yi didn't mind giving them a hand at a critical moment.

In this life, one should naturally find ways to make more friends; try to avoid fighting whenever possible. As a Priest, getting into bloody brawls was quite unseemly.

Old Wolf nodded, his only thought being to survive this derivative world.

Lin Yi felt a chill in his heart, realizing the urgency of the situation.

Since the opponent had already launched such large-scale operations, there was no need for them to continue staying low-profile.

He asked Tamayo bluntly: "Miss Tamayo, do you have any way to track the Lower Moons?"

Tamayo nodded and took out a glass box containing butterflies from behind her.

The butterflies inside the box were constantly fluttering in one direction, but they were unable to fly out because of the glass.

She explained: "Those demons are tainted with a special scent. As long as they are within a certain range of the butterflies, the butterflies can sense their presence."

Taking the glass box containing the butterflies, Lin Yi bid farewell to Tamayo along with Shinobu Kocho.

As the two left the clinic, Tamayo's little follower, Yushiro, came running out.

"Miss Tamayo asked me to give these to you. She said they might help you in battle." Two potions appeared in Yushiro's hands—one was deep purple, and the other was deep red.

Lin Yi took the potions and expressed his gratitude to Yushiro.

After receiving the potions, system prompts appeared before Lin Yi.

[Bloodline Inhibitor] Quality: Green. Type: Single-use item. Rating: 21. Effect: Upon use, reduces the target's self-healing speed by 90% for 30 minutes. Description: Tamayo developed this potion as one of the means to combat Muzan Kibutsuji.

[Cell Destroyer] Quality: Green. Type: Single-use item. Rating: 28. Effect: Upon use, deals 15 + (Stamina * 0.8) damage per second to the target, dealing 200% damage to demon bloodlines, lasting for 1 hour. Description: A specialized potion for demons developed by Tamayo using her own bloodline.
