My luck started turning around after my divorce.

Chapter 36: Has Good Luck Failed?

The brother drove him to the airport.

There was no first class this time, just standard business class, and no romantic encounters. An old man sat next to him, and there was no communication throughout the flight.

He returned to Xiuzhou smoothly. Back in his rented room, he opened the windows and doors, tidied up a bit, and went straight to bed to catch up on some much-needed sleep.

By the time he woke up, it was already evening.

After taking a shower and changing into a clean set of clothes, Chen Feng drove to the location of a private club based on his memory.

However, when he reached the entrance, he saw that the doors were sealed with official notices, and no lights were on inside.

Chen Feng was instantly depressed. Why was his luck so bad?

He remembered this private club vividly. Two years ago, he had come here with his boss to entertain a client. He had spent over a hundred thousand in one night, and of course, a contract worth over two million was signed the next day.

At that time, the club provided emotional companionship services—college students, urban beauties, office professionals, and models lined up for you to choose from.

Back then, Chen Feng had a girlfriend and passed the test. But he had to admit, whenever he thought about it occasionally since then, there was still a hint of regret.

Those companionship specialists were all very beautiful!

Looking at the seals on the door, Chen Feng could only let out a sigh.

It seemed impossible to make up for the regrets of the past. He had been too young back then.

As the saying goes: "In youth, one does not know the value of a princess and mistakes an ex-wife for a treasure; sincere love is poured into running water, leaving nothing but empty hands until death."

Depressed, Chen Feng left and drove around the vicinity.

Ultimately, he rejected the idea of going to bars or KTVs; those places always felt "unclean," the class was a bit low, and there was the risk of a "honey trap" scam.

Even though he was close to death, he didn't want to deal with nonsense right before the end; safety was still a consideration.

He pulled out his phone, opened the navigation, and selected the nearest five-star hotel.

Ten minutes later, Chen Feng successfully checked into a luxury suite.

Sure enough, just a few minutes after entering the room, the landline rang.

He picked up the receiver.

A sweet, soft female voice sounded in his ear: "Hello, sir. I am the hotel's service specialist. I was wondering if you require any healthcare services?"

Hearing this, Chen Feng was certain his good luck was still intact.

He had only been testing the waters, but he hadn't expected it to actually work.

"What are the price ranges? How is the skill of the technicians?" Chen Feng asked in the tone of a seasoned veteran.

"Our technicians are highly professional. Of course, if you prefer non-professionals, we provide those as well. The lowest is 1,680 and the highest is 18,000. If you are interested, we will send a specialist to explain the options and let you choose your preference."

"Alright. Send someone with an 18,000 option over for me to look at first."

"Very well, sir. Please wait a moment."

After hanging up, in less than ten minutes, the doorbell rang.

Chen Feng went to the door and looked through the peephole. Two women were standing there: one in her forties or fifties, heavily made up, and another dressed as an urban beauty in her twenties with long hair, looking very pretty.

He opened the door, and the two women entered the room naturally.

The older woman introduced them directly to Chen Feng: "Hello, sir. This is Xiao Tao, a college student and a campus belle. This is her first time working. If you find her suitable, pay 10,000 first. After everything is finished, you pay the remaining 8,000."

This so-called campus belle was indeed very beautiful, but her expression was somewhat cold. After glancing at Chen Feng once, she kept her head down, scrolling through her phone.

Chen Feng didn't want to deal with a block of wood, so he shook his head directly. "Too young. Find me someone around twenty-seven or twenty-eight."

The older woman didn't say much. She took a tablet out of her handbag, unlocked it skillfully, and handed it to Chen Feng.

"Take a look. These are photos of our technicians along with descriptions. You can pick whichever one you want."

"Fine. Let me see."

Chen Feng took the tablet and browsed carefully. The photos of the female technicians were all beautiful—clearly photoshopped—making it impossible to tell what they looked like without makeup.

However, Chen Feng didn't dwell on it; choosing a higher price should be the safe bet.

He had heard that people in this industry were quite professional because they were all working hard to cultivate repeat customers.

Therefore, he wouldn't choose anyone under 18,000.

A few minutes later, Chen Feng selected a "decent girl," marked as 28 years old, an urban white-collar worker with a good figure.

"I'll take this one, Xiao Hong," Chen Feng said, pointing at a picture.

After looking, the older woman praised him, "You have great taste, sir. She is a truly decent girl; her family is in urgent need of money, so this is her first time working."

Chen Feng asked mockingly, "Another 'first time'?"

The cold campus belle just now also seemed to be a "first-timer." In this business, where did all these first-timers come from?

The older woman gave a sheepish smile. "Both Xiao Hong and Xiao Tao are working for the first time today. I'm really not lying to you."

"Fine. Whether it's a first time or not doesn't matter to me, as long as the service is adequate. Go call this Xiao Hong over. I'll wait for her in the room."

"Alright. Then please pay the 10,000 deposit first. Cash or QR code?"

As she spoke, the older woman professionally pulled a payment QR code from her bag.

Chen Feng was certainly not foolish enough to pay upfront. He shook his head. "Call her over first. If she looks good to me, I'll pay you the full amount directly."

"Very well, I'll go out and call her now." The older woman didn't insist; she nodded and led the campus belle away.

Once they left, Chen Feng went to close the door, but thinking they might return soon, he left it slightly ajar.

He went back to the room and waited on the living room sofa. However, after waiting for over half an hour, he grew bored. He turned on the TV and casually picked a bottle of red wine priced at 888 from the wine cabinet and began to drink.

The wine turned out to be quite smooth; before he knew it, he had finished the whole bottle.

By this time, over an hour had passed, and the older woman had not brought Xiao Hong.

Chen Feng felt as though his pure intentions had been deceived, and he grew depressed again.

It seemed his good luck had failed him today.

His head felt a bit dizzy, likely from the aftereffects of the red wine. Chen Feng stood up, went to the soft bed, and lay down, drifting in and out of sleep.

What he didn't know was that his luck was actually quite good.

Not long after the older woman went out, just as she was about to call Xiao Hong, she was arrested by police who had been lying in wait.

Her entire gang had been wiped out by the police.

If the police hadn't conducted their sting operation at that exact moment, Chen Feng might have ended up in custody during those few minutes of the night.

So, a word of advice to everyone: live an upright life and do not resort to shady dealings. The same applies to romance; it should be sincere and natural, not something bought with money all at once, because that is illegal.

However, when Chen Feng woke up groggily the next day, there was a woman beside him—and she was someone he actually recognized.

Seeing her face covered in tears, his brain completely stalled.
