Chapter 58: Together Again

This was the first heavy snowfall in Qi City this year. It came very suddenly, without any warning from the weather forecast.

The snow fell harder and harder. In just half an hour, the entire airport, including the runways, was covered by this sudden blizzard.

For safety reasons, all flights departing from Qi City were delayed.

About an hour later, seeing that the snow was only getting heavier and showed no sign of stopping, it seemed that no planes would be able to take off from here today.

The sheer power of nature was truly something these mortals could not defy.

Chen Feng felt helpless about the situation, while Sun Xiaorui and the other two women were on the verge of a breakdown.

Sun Xiaorui was anxious to return to her unconscious father, while Lin Wan and Wu Mengting had already been stranded here for two or three days.

In this heavy snow, and being in a strange place, the three women felt they lacked a sense of security without a man like Chen Feng by their side.

Looking at the pleading eyes of the three women—especially Sun Xiaorui's—Chen Feng simply couldn't bring himself to be heartless.

In the end, Chen Feng decided to stay with them.

Each carrying their luggage, they took a taxi from the airport to the railway station.

On the way, the four of them used their phones to buy high-speed rail tickets.

This time, there were no accidents; the four of them successfully boarded the train and arrived in Harbin smoothly.

It wasn't snowing here, and rebooking their flights went smoothly as well.

This allowed everyone to breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Sun Xiaorui had the earliest departure time this time, with a flight scheduled in about an hour.

The four of them waited in the departure lounge; Chen Feng went to buy some food for the three women.

"Brother Feng, why don't you just come back to Xiuzhou with us? You can go with Sister Sun next time if there's an opportunity. It's really boring traveling alone," Lin Wan suggested kindly.

Chen Feng shook his head. "My tickets are already booked. Besides, I've wanted to check out Qiongzhou for a while. Once this trip is over, I'll go with Xiaorui next time if there's a chance."

Lin Wan also shook her head. "You really are something. Traveling alone only makes you feel lonelier, especially when you see others in pairs."

"I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't think I will."

After muttering "stubborn" under her breath, Lin Wan stopped persuading him.

Wu Mengting couldn't help but ask him again, "Roughly when are you going back to your hometown at the end of the year?"

Chen Feng replied casually, "It's still early. We haven't even reached the tenth lunar month yet."

"It'll be here before you know it. Lunar New Year is only two or three months away."

"It's not certain yet."

"Oh. I'll probably go back after the 20th day of the twelfth lunar month. I'll be driving myself. Do you want to hitch a ride?" *Is this an invitation?*

Chen Feng thought to himself. He didn't know what it was about him that attracted her so much that she wouldn't give up on him.

"I have a car too. I might drive back then, or I might fly."

Chen Feng could only decline politely once again.

Wu Mengting smiled slightly and said, "Well, if you drive back, then I'll take a ride with you. If you fly, then we can fly back together. Having company is better than being alone. You won't refuse this time, will you?"

Chen Feng was momentarily speechless. So, this was her angle.

"I'll probably head back before the 20th of the twelfth lunar month this year," he said, finding it easy to make an excuse.

"Oh, that's fine. My work schedule is quite flexible; I can work remotely most of the time. Just let me know when you're heading back."

It seemed Wu Mengting was determined to stick with him, and without Sun Xiaorui around, her skin had grown thicker.

Chen Feng found himself unable to find a reason to refuse this time, looking somewhat bewildered.

He truly hadn't expected Wu Mengting to be so stubborn and persistent.

Chen Feng could only manage a bitter smile.

Wu Mengting gave Lin Wan a sidelong glance, then looked at Chen Feng and said, "Brother Feng, you aren't planning to refuse me again, are you? It's just going back to our hometown together; is it really that difficult for you?"

Chen Feng let out a deep sigh, his brow furrowing deeply.

"Fine. If you insist on going back with me, I won't oppose it."

Seeing that Chen Feng had finally agreed, Wu Mengting's previously depressed mood finally brightened.

In fact, her mood had already started to improve while Chen Feng had been accompanying them to Harbin, but now it was even better.

Because Sun Xiaorui was no longer by Chen Feng's side.
